Do you think this would be a good idea for the Broncos? Both players have had previous injuiries and both players would fill a much needed void on there potential teams!
The only negative would be that we would have to play the Panthers next season.

I bet that isn't the only negative. Someone is going to have to feed Jenkins....right? There are a lot more negatives if you really drill down on this idea. :thanku: :thanku: :thanku: ;D
It'd be a fine deal but its incredibly unlikely. Trading Walker woudl hit us with about $6M in escalating bonuses and we'd then have a DT who wants an extension.
At the same time Carolina would be trading a player who doesn't want to be there because he wants to get paid for a guy with a $4.4M bonus looming this spring. So would Javon renegotiate again to leave?
Hopefully Shanahan kicks the tires there but I doubt it can be worked out. When dollar signs and question marks mix people get real skittish.

Guys ... Kris Jenkins is not the solution to all our problems. Get off it already.

Yeah, maybe. I'm just sick and tired of all these Kris Jenkins lovers wailing and bemoaning the fact we couldda had him for a second round pick this past pre-season. We signed Sam Adams, for heaven's sake. And after all, based on our history of 2nd round picks, we could do much better than a 29 year old four-time Pro-Bowler at our position of greatest need.
Ahhh, these Jenkins-lovers just drive me nuts, rugby.

I live in charlotte, nc so I've seen Kris Jenkins play first hand and their is no doubt in my mind that he would be an addition to the Brincos on the field and in the locker room. Provided he stays healthy

I don't know. Can we make some sort of a three way deal that brings Foneco to Denver?

Me? C'mon, based on our history of 2nd round picks, we could do much better than a 29 year old four-time Pro-Bowler at our position of greatest need.
Sorry, missed the sarcasm in your previous post......

If Broncos make trades hopefully it will be for young players or draft picks.

that is easy to fix . just have Carolina work out the contract to make the signing bounes to go on them same way it is goiong to with broncos . that said why bother I bet Walker will be fine and play 3 or 4 years with no problems .

Any trade for Walker would have to be with Denver receiving excellent low-cost compensation considering the hit we'd take when we trade him.
Jenkins falls under the good compensation category but he'll cost a bundle.
I only see anything like this being attempted if Denver come up empty in FA and cannot resolve this contractual issue with Javon.

Jenkins was a bigger need before bates was showed the Door . Now I think we will look for pentrating DT's

I don't get what you're saying here. We sign over the gigantic cap hit we'd take from trading Javon to Carolina? One, I'm pretty damn sure that isn't legal since its cash we've paid and there is no right to recoup it (he's not retiring or voided his deal). Two, why would Carolina want to basically blow their own cap situation up to get a WR who has chronic knee issues?
We don't trade Walker without A. taking a big fat cap hit from all the prorated but already paid bonus money accelerating on our cap and B. him taking a pay cut to that $4.4M roster bonus he has coming up.
It also isn't worth getting Kris Jenkins without giving him a new deal.
So something there has to give. The only way this type of deal could work is if Carolina and Denver both want to make it happen, Jenkins and Walker both want to make it happen, and everyone loses some money to make it happen. Thats a pretty unlikely scenario.
And I doubt Carolina would even do it. They valued Jenkins at a 2nd rounder last year, there is no way Javon brings that kind of return. So unless Carolina's valuation of Jenkins has changed dramatically after he's had a pretty solid season then I don't see how this would even get off the ground.

When healthy Jenkins can penetrate opposing lines as well as any DT in the league. He might never get back to his '02 and '03 form but he'd still be a premium DT to have on our line.

A straight across immature malcontent swap. Not exactly original, but what the ****. Could we make sure this deal comes with a new and hugely encumbering bonus number for Jenkins, too? This way the tail can keep wagging the dog ad infinitum.
