The NIST Report on the World Trade Center Collapse
one year later: Still Dead On Arrival
By Mark H. Gaffney
A note to the reader: In December 2006 Mark H. Gaffney posted a scathing critique of the US government’s official report about the WTC collapse on 9/11. One year later, the case is stronger than ever.
The paper is too long to paste in on this board. Here is the link. Have fun -- and I challenge any one to point out any errors.
So far, the only error is a typo.

I received this response from an engineer. I have, of course, erased his email address -- to protect him from unwanted spam from the lunatics on this board.
Mark, I have not read the NIST report. Your article had no obvious errors that I could find. Your article is an excellent overview of the subject matter, from an engineering perspective. John E. Brotschi C.E.

I just received this email from a woman who read my latest paper. I don't know what to make of it -- but it does tend to confirm other reports that Israeli spies were in the US prior to 911.
It seems to me the question is: were they merely shadowing the alleged hijackers and the WTC?
Or were they more directly involved?
I have deleted the woman's name/address.

Dear Mr. Gaffney.
Thankyou for the amazingly detailed argument for reexamining the event; too bad the same energy has not been applied to the politics of the situation as well.
Two years before 9/11 I rented an apartment on Prince and Thompson in NY, with an extraordinary view of the two towers from my rear window on the sixth floor. I sublet the apartment to an Israeli gentleman named Dany Breslaur who acted very strangely in the process, disappearing from, time to time as we were negotiating the rent (he was poor mouthing me) and oddly he demanded to see my passport, his didn't concern me. His girlfriend, a tiny fearful Russian girl gave me pause as well; but I was anxious to leave NY at the time and put my concerns aside. As the year's sublet drew nigh, he wrote me in CR about continuing to rent, wanted me again to lower my price. He had a Columbia University email but when I later tried to locate him there they never heard of him. He was 37 he said. Four days before 9/11, he suddenly emailed me that he was leaving on the 10th "for vacation" in Crete. Two months later when I returned to take the keys and end our relationship; I mentioned to him that his sudden departure made me wonder if Israel wasn't involved in the attack. He jumped a mile; retorted with
"Oh, really? I thought it was China!"
During his last month in my apartment he made six hundred phone calls; leaving me with the bill. that's one an hour round the clock, one every half hour during waking hours. I asked for and received a list of the calls; which are still possibly retreivable from the phone company now. In my fear and despair that I knew too much, I finally tossed them along with any thought of pursuing the matter, as I have very little faith in the present administration, having watched what I felt was a right wing military coup when Bush was elected. I did call my sister from the phone I thought might be tapped and gave her every word of this and more, hoping that by doing so, whoever might be listening would know I knew they might pursue me. I told her if anything strange happened to me to report everything as loudly as she could to whomever would listen.
He had never spent any time in the apartment in addition, because some water paint I spattered cleaning a brush in the only sink was still there, every tiny drop, the bed had not been slept in nor changed, nothing moved among all my dishes etc; and oddly, the bathroom was smeared with blood, esp the toilet, lots of it. I found a clipping from a Russian language newspaper that had dropped behind a chest that made me think of secret communication tactics but that's an aside. It was his sudden departure, more than anything that brought me up short. I believe that right wing Israelis, suffering from a waning support here for their tactics with the Palestinians (the previously recent cover of Time Magazine of the Palestinian man with his dead child in his lap for instance) allowed the event to occur, if not creating it, to bolster their position there, and God knows it was open season on Arabs of any persuasion after that, and clearly made the Iraq war possible. Their recent response to news of Iran's lack of WMD plans, that they knew better, confirms my suspicion that not much gets by them in the MIddle East. Notice how that recent report was quelled in the press? I understand from personal connections that there are Masada members at Columbia as well.
I believe he was connected in some way with the event, perhaps engineering the explosives; because it's hard to imagine that complex operation going down on such a large scale without anyone's knowledge. Have workers or business people been asked about seeing strange operations going on? He was there almost a year before it happened. I thought you might like to add these facts to your very scientific ones to fill out the picture. It seems to me that a culprit is what's missing from your scenario, and a motive, no? I also wonder if sudden previous departures by air, like his; not to mention the odd prior investment patterns, were studied, beyond the well publicized departure of the Saudis in the wake of the event? I would have been evacuated my apartment was so close, just a few blocks north.
God help me for writing this, I feel quite paranoid. Since I began communicating my fears on the subject, I've been getting double takes when I fly from agents at airports, as if there's a note somewhere on my status as a traveller. My bags are always searched, and I'm an old lady!
In case I do go down; I live in santa cruz california when I'm at home.; and costa rica when I'm not. Playa Junquillal.
I've also gotten emails from folks who've applauded me for nailing you to the wall numerous times, gaffney. I won't include their names or email addys to avoid getting threats and harassment from the troofer community - something they do on a regular basis. Mainly because they're mentally unbalanced, of course.
As always, even after a year, you're full of ****, gaffney.

For all of you boobs who didn't bother to read it -- this is for you:
Roberts posted the following at info clearing house, today:
This report by Mark H. Gaffney has the hallmarks of being a throughly honest, competent, and professional analysis of the NIST report.
It suggests that perhaps the NIST scientists were not complicit in fabricating a coverup, but instead outfoxed their political superiors and undermined the report's conclusions by cleverly presenting the evidence against the conclusions in a way that their political superiors could not detect.
This conclusion, if warranted, suggests that few
scientists and engineers have actually studied the NIST report, instead relying only on the summary.
Mark Gaffney is to be commended for his careful examination of the NIST report. All that is now needed is for several qualified experts to verify Gaffney's analysis.

Thanks for the art deco. I prefer this one, however.
PCR is a class-A flake.
And we have no independent proof that he actually wrote what gaffney says he did. Not that unreferenced and uncorroborated material has ever stopped the troofers from spreading their bull**** thick, far, and wide.

:yep:
He and his fellow coincidence theorists have absolutely nothing to offer by way of response except for the usual ad hominem attacks.
They believe what they believe in spite of the facts (sort of like fundamentalist Xians.)
A couple of troofers lecturing anyone, on ad hominem, or beliefs that fly in the face of the facts, is ****ing ridiculous.

I just received this email from Genady Cherepanov, an engineer who says NIST ignored several of his pubblished technical papers on the WTC collapse.
Dear Mr Gaffney:
I am attaching my article I had submitted to NIST by four years ago and published in J Automation&Engineering (I added only some fresh citations). Unfortunately, NIST ignored it.
Please feel free to use it in any way , e.g. by posting in INTERNET or as an appendix to your book.
This article's calculations and analysis confirm well your investigative report that I think makes a case.
Looking forward to reading your book.
Sincerely,
Genady Cherepanov
I'll be happy to send his paper to anyone who contacts me via this board's message service.
