With the Tuna now running the Miami Dolphins, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Phins look to trade out of the #1 slot, and stock-pile picks due to the holes in the team. Do you guys think this will happen, and do foresee any reason, or way for Denver to move up to get the #1 overall selection??

Highly doubt it.
I think they trade it. Parcells in his news conference yesterday seemed to be leaning pretty strongly toward trading out of it. He's very mindful of the negative consequences of getting burned.

Why not they have a ton of needs.

I'd imagine they'd trade down but I doubt they'll trade down to our pick... It's too far. Look for someone who wants McFadden... (The best player in the draft, IMO)

We could make a trade with Miami if we pick 9 but, doubt we could any lower
No. They'll want to. Everyone who's had the #1 in recent history has entertained the idea as no single player is worth that much financial commitment. Short of a team succumbing to media pressure and making a monumental mistake it doesn't happen.
Look at how much the Giants and Falcons (two most recent trades up to #1) gave up and how those picks worked out for them. No one is going to bite on that.
Also, Parcells isn't afraid to pull the trigger at #1, which a lot of coaches and GMs are. He took Bledsoe there in '93 and he went to a NYJ team that had just drafted Keyshawn Johnson #1 the year before. He's been in this scenario before. He'll find someone he likes enough to want legitimate compensation, which no one offers anymore.

I was watching an interview with the Tuna a couple of days ago and one of the points he spoke about was how much a first round pick costs. Judging by his facial expression, I'm guessing he tries to get out of that number one spot. If he can't trade down, I'll bet he takes Dorsey.

I really think the value charts have ruined the trade prospects of teams picking at the top of the draft. The top 5 picks are so overvalued that Miami could pick up Dallas' 2 #1's, their #2, and a #2 or #3 next year, and still lose 1000 points on the value chart. Personally, I don't think that's a horrible trade for Miami, though. They'd have 5 picks in the top 60 and another high pick next year. That's a lot to build around, especially considering the depth this year.

Although not high, Dallas has 2 #1s...and a documented crush on McFadden. I could easily see Tuna tossing the Boyz the #1 for their 2 1st rounders, Bobby Carpenter and either a #1 or #2 in 2009 OR MBIII. This would get McFadden in Dallas and Tuna 3 very nice pix and a guy or 2 that HE brought into Dallas to begin with.

if I am Bill, I try and move this pick, but I don't think he will get out of it...should be interesting..
no way do we ever consider moving up as you have to trade away about an entire draft to move up that high....just not something we can afford to do. If anything we need a couple more day 1 picks, not consolidating.
