It's not to early to start planning, right? I will be in Cleveland and Atlanta

2008 schedule set.

With second place in the AFC West wrapped up, the Broncos' 2008 schedule is set. Denver's non-AFC West home games will be against Buffalo, Jacksonville, Miami, New Orleans and Tampa Bay. Its non-AFC West road games will be against Cleveland, New England, the New York Jets, Atlanta and Carolina.

Our 2008 plans will totally be determined by the outcome of Meck's fight against RTD... in the event that a compromise can be reached where he still retains at least a portion his tailgate lot, we'll no doubt be coming to Denver in September as usual for a division game.

Depends on the schedule!
A Denver game and probably San Diego away game...unless it's Christmas Eve or Thanksgiving...

Looks like a replay of 2006 for me, depending upon the dates the actual games fall.

Denver, Cleveland & San Diego.

I'll keep it in mind if the dates jive....we were in the other EZ that year, the fans around us were pretty cool. I was expecting the worst, especially when getting "asshole" chants everyplace else I went in Broncos gear that day Ha!

Looking for 2 games next year...home game and SD. Then again it depends if I get the job in the springs it could be more. But defenately looking forward to the mane weekend, and going to SD again.

BUT, if things work out ideally...I'll be coming out for a Raider or KC home game and an away game somewhere...maybe San Diego! And, I think I'll be at a few of the Seahawk games, too. Ha! Can I wear Broncos gear to a Seahawk game? ROFL!

yes you are right..... the flats is going under serious renovations, half of it is gone, the other half is pretty dead. (the comedy clubs, and strip clubs, and rock bottom are still open)

The hot spots right now are the Wharehouse district (downtown, must be nice dressed),
E4th st (my favorite....house of blues, picwick and frolic, hillarities comedy club, many bars close to jacobs field, and quicken loans arena.

Ohio city area........about a 4 min drive from downtown, or free ride on the busses. Home to the world famous great lakes brewery, clubs, and bars. Plenty of street parking in this area.

The suburbs are starting to take over too.... out near westlake (very upscale area wher emost of the players live) there is rocky river brewing co (GREAT) dave and busters, clubs, bars etc.

If any of you guys are going to the cleveland game, get ahold of me when you go to book your hotels. Ill let you know which ones are best depending where you want to be (IE close to browns stadium, the wharehouse district, suburbs etc...)

if the broncos play cleveland in sept try to check out an indians game at jacobs field..... one of the nicest parks in the US and ive been to 20 of them!

I stay at the Lakeshore Holiday Inn Select or the Holiday Inn Express on Euclid whenever I'm in Cleveland. The Lakeshore gets a bad rap but I've never had a problem there at all (I actually perfer it). Another great thing about that hotel is the Beachland Ballroom rate...ultra cheap if you're going to a show at that indie rock venue (and I'm talking like $55-65 bucks here).

The Beachland or the Grog Shop is where I'll be if there's any decent shows happening at that time. The HoB is okay, but a bit too ritzy for my liking. I like a couple of places around the Jake but they're far from glamorus...Mr. Bill's is a cool dive and a stop at the former Cooperstown (now Local Legends I believe)...both stops for me have become a tradition of sorts.

If you like going to the beachland, better do it this time because its supposed to be closing up within a few years.

The grog shop moved.......its till in the same area but further up and across the street....so don't fret if you go there and you dont see it.

Peabodys concert club (www.peabodys.com) is taking most of the local shows away from the grog shop and beachland. So make sure to check them out too to see whos playing there.

as for the bars around jacobs field..... there are some newer ones that are nice too. like the clevelander....big sports bar.

The Boneyard, winking lizard, bottoms up area is cool too.

and chad, they really cracked down on taking the beers to go....however there are a bunch of corner stores downtown that are open 24/7 (near reserve square) that will sell beer after the 1am deadline for a $5/per 12 pack surcharge..........bas%@$ds.

Also for you smokers......All of ohio is totally smoke free including browns stadium.....they dont even let you outside to smoke anymore. And at the bars, you have to go outside and be 15 feet away from the entrance. (the distance from the entrance really isn't enforced but my friend did get a ticket once in the wharehouse district for that.)

And if anyone thats going wants to go to the football hall of fame (40 min drive) i can get discount tickets so just send me a message.

I would also reccomend parking in the cleveland muni lots $15 for the game..... nothing but over a mile of tailgaters. Deffinately a must see for any football fan.........but expect to get hotdogs, beer cans, etc thrown at you wearing broncos gear lol

The Muni lot is what I reconmended last year, but it got all confused and Bum and the group found a private lot...I tailgated in the Muni lot with my brother and his friends (about 50 of us total) I was the only one in Bronco gear and I had no problems other than the typical "Broncos Suck" every once in awhile...I do recomend trying the Muni lot next year...but the planning for this is still a ways away

I go out to Cleveland on average a couple times a year, so yeah, I was aware of the Grog Shop move but didn't know the Beachland was going to close anytime soon...that sucks as I love that place. I've only been to Peabody's once and that was cool, so all is well.

I like those bars around the Jake, good places down there.

I jus thope it doesnt fall on Xmas but with my brother 2 hours away, good time to visit. I can get tickets through the Broncos but it is not known until Wednesday before the game. We can go group route through the Panthers or look on places like ebay or stub hub to get as close to everyone as possible. We got until April.
BTW: I would love to check out the Civil War goodies since I am a History Channel buff.

Damn, IBOB! Travelling to 8 games is impressive!

We're going to try to make 3 or 4. Our choices so far (depending on the schedule and whether or not Julie's pregnant):

1. Cleveland - 5 hour drive w/ outdoor stadium. The weather can't possible be more miserable than '06, though the outcome was great! If we try going with group tickets, we should use IBOB's mailing address since he lives in Ohio. If that's okay with IBOB? Remember last year? Indy didn't even look at our request because it was from out-of-state.

2. New England: CrowPointer's been giving me the business for a couple years now and I told him I'd make it there. Definitely depends on schedule.
Plus, Hawaii Guy isn't as excited about this game as the other raod trips, so we'll keep him company!

T3. Carolina: Never been there and the Broncos won't be there again for years. Plus, it seems like the place to be right now. We should find someone in NC for a mailing address if they play the "Colts" game with group tickets.

T3. Denver home game: With only one game w/in driving distance, this could be the year we finally make it to the promised land!

Others: Atlanta, @ KC. We could probably drive to either one of these. We'll see how finances are and if Julie's expecting. @SD - Very unlikely, but not ruling it out yet.

Is it too early to start talking about '09????

haha yeah.....I am going to try....ill probably be driving to them all......so it depends on gas and stuff.......but i have so much vacation at work that im going to lost it at the end of the year if i dont use it up so i am going to try as hard as i can.

As far as being pregnant..... congrats if she is.........lets just hope she doesn't pop out a little raiders fan HAHA sorry low blow.

as for 09......they are in cleveland again....2 games ill have to drive all of 15 minutes for.....cant beat that!

And as for the group tickets......i dont mind using my address at all......although like i said on other posts..... i have a friend thats a local ticket broker (unfortunately he only deals in local stuff or else i would use him for everything) so if the group is small enough.......(under 12 or so) i can usually get tickets through him at face or near it for "good" tickets...... so it depends on where everyone wants to sit and how many we need.

I got tickets through him a couple times this year and i had front row lower level (although between the 5 and goalline) but they were only 65 a piece. So let me know everyones thoughts on tickets as the time comes.

And as for the weather cannot be any worse?????? I went to the browns/bills game this year..........that was insane.......although quite fun.

Do any of you guys go to the preseason games? If there are any close i might go since the tickets are so cheap and i can knock some stadiums off my list.

For those concerned about my eminent domain deal I will have people to call or email in a last ditch effort to save the tailgating lot. I realize not all of you live in Denver and have various degrees of time or desire to help. Those that do stay tuned.

If RTD takes the tailgate lot, it will probably make the difference in us being there or not, too.

Omane weekend will still live on. Just probably Lot C or maybe we go take over Archie's spot. I am sure they would just love having 30 to 40 more fans over there! MH lot helps a ton but the weekend cant stop. Let us hope we are celebrating the end of government takeover on Mecks lot.

I never said it should stop Cali. I hope it gets bigger! I'm just saying I'm at the end of the line dude and so it my tailgating spot. People will continue to party before Broncos games regardless of what happens to my land. They did it before I got to MileHigh but I have pulled some people together and that is who I'm reaching out to on this final push dude.

RTD will have the parking lot rapped up in court in a few weeks and I will no longer own it by March so I'm told. Lickity split.

Yeah, I understood that....and I'm sure my token protest won't make a difference to Denver officials, but if they're gonna allow a travesty like what's happening to Meck (and presumably, thousands of other landowners whose land RTD and their private-developer cronies covet), I'm just not sure I want to give 'em my tourist dollars. Might be more inclined toward an away game.... I dunno.

I most definately will be at "OMane weekend" this year.

Excellent Ryan, It'd be great to see you and Sarah again

Yeah, if Meck loses his lot, that'll make things difficult and less fun but I don't believe it'll deter us from going...it's my hope that even if the worst case happens, Meck'll be around some with or without the bus. Hell, visiting the guy has become a highlight of the yearly trip.

BTW, does anyone know if the Red Lion is targeted by this Fast Tracks bullshat or not? Someone should verify that one way or the other before the schedule release in April.

Vegas was discussed as an alternative in case all the games we're targeting get eukered by the schedule again like we were for the game @ Diego this past year...but with Diego, Cleveland, Charlotte & NYC to choose from...it's unlikely that'll come into play at all.

We'll see once the schedule drops in April.

Although I appreciate the sentiment folks I wouldn't expect people to change plans. I still have some time to fight and am not giving up yet even though I feel like it depending on the day.

I'm just saying for me it would be hard to go from having a guaranteed place to park every game that I owned back to the run around we use to deal with.

Things have changed for me recently. It's no longer about the lot. It's no longer about the tailgating. It's about principal and property rights in Colorado. We have men and women fighting and dieing in Iraq and other areas of the world to protect our freedoms yet the enemy is much much closer. We have governments, board of citizens, laywers etc working together to steal property from people in the name of "Public progress" when it's just not the case. In some states they aren't even hiding this fact and calling it "economic development".

Denver Colorado and other municipalities are on the fence on what to call it. Lakewood isn't even hiding that fact anymore. RTD does from time to time.

If my parking lot was truly in the way of progress I would concede with my chin up high but folks it's just not the case. I have a meeting later todady with the directors of RTD yet again. I do not expect anything to come of it but more lies.

I'm switching my old D Broncos hat with a hat Master Pain and his friend dave gave me. It's a green military style Broncos hat.

Game on.

I can set everyone up with great hotel rates and a very cool Sports Bar Saturday Night as well.

My daughter Jenna is all fired up about going to Carolina so we may be in for that one (gotta be a fly in). Cleveland and KC look like the driving options in the family fun van. It would be great to see you guys again. I think this is the hardest part of the seaon, you make so many friends and in a lot of cases you may only see them 1-3times a year. Maybe you could drive to Carolina and get Billy to go also, and hey why not Atlanta also? I am going to be bugging Billy till he says he will be at both. Also KC is a close game to him and he has not been there..... come on he should have been there this year (wait then I would not have seen my win there... :) ) I normaly get the tickets the first day they go on sale for that team so just let me know what games you are going to and we will get tickets close..

His streak started with the first playoff loss at Indy to end the 2003 season. I think the record for straight home and away games is 250 games by a Giants fan. Unfortunately, his streak ended after 9/11. I couldn't find anyone higher than that for the NFL. I know Pinto Kenny (I hope I got his name right?) of the Bills is over 200 and his streak is still current as far as I know.

Nothing against Barrelman or Hawaii Guy, but I don't think Hawaii Guy can fill out a barrel. Better get him a pony keg or maybe this:

NE? Man, that's gonna cost you a mint for a ticket alone (unless you've got connections, that is).

and what's all this jazz about reunions in September?!?!? The reunions here are always held during the summer months and never later than late July....my 25th is being held in May (I think...I really don't care actually. I've learned from the 10th & 20th's that the meet & greet night is the only one worth attending, but that may just be me as formal, sit down dinners are really not my thing at all) so what's up with that?

Missing OM Weekend? Unthinkable.....that committee is just going to have to work around it.

I just guessing on the tix Billy...usually when the team is in the Super Bowl, much less the winner and undefeated, I'm thinking the tix will go for top $ even for the worst of seats....I could be wrong though.

I haven't been out that way since 2002, but there was very little around the stadium at that time....it was in the middle of nowhere and Foxboro itself shuts down totally on gameday, I'm talking the blocking off of streets here, so manuvering is a problem.

If given the choice, take Providence...the Mansions in Newport are not to be missed and the people in RI are as cool as you'll find anywhere.

Thanks for the tip re: Providence. It will depend on which is cheaper though.

As for tickets for teams that made the Super Bowl the previous year, you are exactly right. The Indy game cost $127 / ticket for the 15 yard line, 2 rows from the top. There were tickets on the goalline of the UD for about a $100, but we were trying to get 18 tickets together. I got two Bears tickets in the UD on Ebay for $185 at the start of the season - which was a good price at the time. They're always overpriced though.

It all depends on what the schedule says!

Most likely it will be the home opener or soon there after. Typically one of the early games sometime in September. The schedule comes out in April. Once it's out, we'll create a thread for every game in here and we'll make the decision at that time which will be the official OM weekend!

The usual criteria is "division rival; sometime in the first few weeks of the season". In '04, that was San Diego, in '05 and '06, it was KC, and last year it was Oakland. A Monday night game is excellent because that only means an extra day of partying... ;D

I have already planned out all of the hotels that I am planning on using, and I found myself looking on the different team websites looking for ticket information (by the way there is none) I knew there would not be any but I would have loved to even seen prices. One thing I did find is that the Jets do not sell single tickets they only sell to season ticket holders. If the Broncos are a drug I am not doing so well in detox.

haha yeah they are much harder to come by now..........like i said earlier i have season tix in the upper dawg pound.....row 30, end of aisle face value this year is 45/ea. Ill be upgrading for this game so whoever wants these can get them at face value.

anyone have any word from bum and whether or not he still has the RV?

Also, being a season ticket holder to the browns, i get to "jump in line" for group tickets.....so keep that in mind too although the minimum is 20

Last year went to the Buff game since my friend is a Bills fan so maybe this season we'll make the trip to Denver. Being here in NY the Jet game is obvious and my Mom lives right outside Charlotte so I'll go to the Panther game as well.

My 20 year reunion is late as in October 11th. Here is to reverse the crystal ball karma that i guessed Denver would play Chargers on Monday night and it would be Christmas Eve. THis is now to have the Angels play on the road during this playoff run (yes, they get out of the first round and on to the AL Championship) and the Raiders arent playing Broncos at Denver or Chargers at San Diego on 10/12 or 10/13. Once again, I am looking at OM weekend and Panthers game and of course Chargers in SD.

Will I come out alive wearing orange and blue in your seats? If so, I am very interested. I'll also let my sis and bro-in-law know. He's a big Browns fan and would jump at the chance for face value seats. lemme know if ya still have em and I'll ask tomorrow.

My ideal situation is Denver @ NYJ early in the season and then @ Carolina on October 5, 19 or November 9 or 30. Those are the same weekend as the 4 Vols home games I can get reasonably priced tix to (Northern Illinois, Miss St, Wyoming, Kentucky). It doesn't matter when the Cleveland game is. It will be a mad house regardless.

Omane weekend is a given.

Other than that, it's looking more and more like a return to Diego or a run to Charlotte if the schedule screws us out of it like last year.

Rising fuel costs will limit me to two games this year :(

Browns - 2
Oakland - 2

San Diego - 2

Nice hotel and a nice location for heading to Fenway or hitting the local shops/restaurants/bars. Probably a 1/2 mile to 3/4 of a mile to walk from there to Fenway, or a couple of quick T stops if you are taking the train. You definitely won't have to worry about the problems you had before.

Feel free to PM me any time from now until then if you need any recommendations for restaurants, bars, whatever.

I don't know if anyone has suggested this yet...

but, if you plan on attending Orange Mane weekend in Denver, then I'd suggest booking a hotel for every weekend in September right now. THEN, once the schedule comes out in two weeks, and we know WHEN it will actually be, you can cancel the other reservations and you beat the hotels at jacking up their prices for the home games!

Sorry I can't make it. Not much of a football fan - way too violent! I can't believe they make men wear those tight pants like they're some sort of object. Seriously, we'll see when the schedule comes out. NY is not in my top 4 right now.

As for group tickets, some teams require a minimum of 20 people in your group. Also, make sure you find a NY / NJ address to request them so you don't get screwed over like in Indy. Or, at least find out if they have an "in-state" only policy.

Maybe I'll have to get on their season ticket waiting list. Some of us are in PA though, given that NJ is such a small state, I'd hope that their rule would be regional/local rather than NY or NJ only.

Kev...My minivan fits 6 comfortably and 7 not quite as comfortably. If we have an extra spot for the trip to NYC, you have a ride buddy. I'll keep ya posted.

As of now it is me, my wife's bro and his g/f and 2 of my buddies (who are Jets fans). IF my wife decides to end her protest she would be #6. I'm guessing we could fit ya. I MAY even rent a conversion van since it's only for an overnight. It'd give us much more room and if we split the cost among 6-8 people, it wouldn't be that bad.

Okay, this was taken out of context. Miles (Hawaii Guy) suggested I drive to San Diego for the Christmas Eve game because airfare was so high. I stated that I would only drive up to 1000 miles for a Broncos game. Anything more, I would have to fly.

I wish I had the means to go to every game; I'd be there. Unfortunately, this is not the case. With my work schedule and Julie being a teacher, it really depends on how the schedule lays itself out.

Can't wait, haven't been to a Broncos game since the MNF game against Cincinnati way back in 2004.

So is their any confirmation regarding the April 3 schedule release?

I know the season opener has been announced..Skins @ Giants, so you'd think they are on schedule for a timely release. But I'm reading opposing stories on this thread.

Anyone?

This is the lastest I have seen from USA Today

The highlight games of the NFL's first weekend will be announced Monday during league meetings in Palm Beach, Fla. The rest of the schedule will be announced later next month.

The NFL is expected to release its national television schedule for the season's opening weekend and Thanksgiving tomorrow, during the first day of the league's owner's meetings.

The rest of schedule was tentatively slated to be released on Thursday, though that has come off the NFL Network television schedule since.

If you like sitting in raw sewage you will have a great time. They pipe the crappers odor right up to Al's suite.

Ha! C'mon Man, you're gonna blow my image with that kinda stuff...aww, who am I kidding, I've met far too many prople on this site to really make it work anymore anyways Ha!.

Hope you and Julie can make it out to Denver this year Billy for the OMane Weekend. It's not looking too good for any of the northeast games for me this year :(

Hogan,

I checked the Padres schedule to see if Pirates are playing during September month (pirates never play in October!) and sure enough, they play the last weekend in September! Now, you have to pray that a 1/16th chance the Denver game falls on the same weekend! about a 6% chance. Good luck on that one but it is at least a shot.

You know, I would love to see a game @ Petco...but Denver never plays in Diego before Nov./Dec. much less have it line up with the Buccos being in town at the same time. (I'm ignoring that Oct. remark)

yep. would that be your idiot friend? Dallas honk. I havent got prices but i think face value is $100 and probably sell for $60. I am glad Dallas is playing so I know i can get rid of all the tickets without losing $2500 like i normally do. I would have same as we sat for the playoff game.
