Movin' on up!
So could we get to the 8th pick?

I doubt we'd win SOS for 8 but, 9 looks possible.

Matchups next week:
9. Cincy 6-9 @ Miami
10. Denver 6-9 - Vikings
11. Carolina 6-9 @ Tampa
12. Bears 6-9 - Saints
13. Arizona 7-8 - Rams
14. Saints 7-8 - @ Chicago
15. Buffalo 7-8 - @ Philly
16. Texans 7-8 - Jax
17. Lions 7-8 - @ Packers
18. Eagles 7-8 - Buffalo
Looking at this:
1.If we lose to Vikes and Bengals win at Miami, we draft #9
2. If we lose and Bengals lose, we draft #10
3. If we win, we would likely pick 13-15.
Teams we want to win -
Carolina vs Bucs - possible with TB in playoffs and could rest some starters
Bears/Saints - one will be in front, one behind us
Arizona - need this one!
Buffalo over Philly as their SOS is worse
Texans over Jags - doubtful

No. Strength of schedule will preclude that even if SF wins and we lose.

For those interested, Dallas would have 22 and 31 as of today. Of course 31 is the Super Bowl runnerup.
(And I was one who wished we would have made the Browns trade that Dallas did.)

Should we trade down with Dallas SS?

Doubt Dallas would want to - but if we end up #9, that is almost exactly the value for 22 and 31. I would like to have 3 picks in the first 39 picks, so yea if it was up to me.
But if there is an elite OT at #9, it would be hard for me to pull the trigger.
So it's an attorney's answer: It Depends

I see your point but, 3 picks in first 39 with a team with tons of needs I think I'd prefer that option. Of course your smarter and cooler then me. If we pulled off that deal I'd trade down again to aquire a 3rd.

Playmakers are hard to come by - someone let's say like Champ ;) - so if you can get a guy who you beleieve could be the next Ogden, Jones, etc for the next dozen years to protect Jay, that would be hard for me to pass on.
Merry Christmas, Paul!

Which is all pretty much irrelevant since Minnesota will paste us.
Seriously. They can rush the passer ok, they definitely can stop the run. Their OL is aggressive and sets the tone on the ground, and they have two very good RBs. We'll be lucky if Peterson doesn't break is own damn record on us.
And Cincy should beat Miami, so it seems likely we'll be sitting at #9. Lot better pick than you'd expect from a 6-10 team, but its just pathetic that we'll be the 3rd team in our own damn division to pick in the top 10. AFC West is horrible.

if playoff caliber teams can rest players before the playoffs, then we can play our rookies to see who we keep next year. winning the last game of the year is not as important as other purposes. sit down anybody we are definitely keeping or cutting and play the in betweeners. sorry champ and john, jay, marshall etc. you play a few series and then we evaluate fox, paymuh, martinez, etc. etc.

I have a feeling that Miami is going to beat Cincy so i think we are stuck at 10.

Good Points made George we'll see. We just have so many needs not enough solutions. We have really choked in FA lately.
Merry Christmas to you George your a great friend :).

Marshall, Cutler, and the interior OL need all the game experience they can get so they should play. Same with Dumervil, Crowder, Thomas, and DJ in the front seven. For those guys its not about evaluation of talent, they just need live game action to improve.

I have a feeling knowing Denver and how this season has gone that they will blow out Minn and jump back to the 14-17 pick range. Just to ruin everyone's hopes. :~ohyah!:

No. no more trading down at that point.
Trade away Foxy and a 6th to move into the 3rd.
The talent in the top 3 rounds of this draft is really good. Stop moving and take the best players in the top 39. i would really, really like to see DEN get 4! selections in the top 40, but thats a pipe dream.

I dreamt we beat MN 22-6 last night...even Shanahan was pissed they blew their draft position.

Cincy, Carolina and Chicago are all currently winning. SF is down. We lose tonight and we'll likely pick 9th.

Here is where I believe we are at the moment:
With a loss we pick #9 - that's for sure.
With a win, the worst we can pick is #13 and a Arizona win would move us to 12.
We really are the gang that couldnt shoot straight.

If I calculate correctly, Bills and Saints jump us and we pick at 12. I'm not 100% sold on my math though.

Assholes! After as many times as they laid an egg this year, they go and do this and Im sure they no doubt feel like theyve accomplished something because they bowed up in week 16...I guess it makes up for rolling over the week before. Assholes!

I'm cool at 12. It will cost less financially and 1 if not all of the 3 of the guys I want will be there at 12...Phillips, Connor, Ellis.

Figured i would find a nice prick of a post like this one. Of course in the draft room. When they arent playing dungeans and dragons, they are cursing at a broncos win.

Considering you had to look for this, that would make you the prick. Youre the one seeking confrontation here.

You think it was hard? I wondered to myself, "is this a coincidence that those who want to lose a game might be also a draft geek?" After finding the draft room with ease, I found my answer in your posts. Thinking we would drop 7 spots based on us winning (i mean broncos fans) and then everyone else losing is retarded. We dropped a total of 3 spots. It wasnt klike we had our one need on a "Peyton Manning" type player and needed to lose to get him. We have a crap load of needs and 3 spots isnt going to make a damn a difference to losing the last game. Just keep booking your tickets/trips to Invesco early in the year so you dont have to either sell the late game tickets or root against your team in your seats. That would be horrible. But can you and all that wanted us to lose, what you did during the game. I would love to hear the description how you rooted against our team and winning field goal.
