Giving up on the 1 for what?

Northman

I was wondering that myself. Are they going to run 4 straight times or just kneel? lol

Maximus

Score it and put the game out of reach???

Northman

Weird way to end the game. It worked but i would have just scored personally.

Wow, I cant beleive Philly pulled that game out.

Me too... I think he might be playing fantasy football and someone had him playing against him???

Uh, he made sure they won so they just had to kneel it the rest of the way?

Ha!

I didnt think of that. How funny would the be? Somebody just got real angry. LOL

With 2 minutes remaing it would have been difficult for the Cowboys to win anyway so really it didnt have too. Like i said, it worked but it was kinda pointless.

awful for fantasy players but just such a smart play not many players have the where whithall to stop there and give the cowboys no chance.....reminds me of when Selvin Young was smart enough to punch the ball out of bounds earlier this season insead of trying to fall on it

I thought it was pretty awesome. why send more guys out there to get hurt, just finish the game.

Theoretically: dallas could have scored right after philly... then kicked on-sides and scored again. Westbrook assured that Dallas wasn't getting the ball back. I like it.

I didnt say it couldnt happen, but the chances were very slim.

It was a smart move by a great player. That stadium is lucky it didn't implode under the strain of a classy action.

I can't think of another player that would do something like that

Class action? It wasnt like they would have been rubbing it in. Hilarious!

Genius play, very smart football wise. Don't even give them the ball back.

Also, a buddy of mine won his semifinal FF game by 2 points due to that.

He should have high-stepped it in for the score... and shushed the crowd after personally signing the ball with a sharpie from his sock. So what if it gives Dallas the only chance for a miracle come-back. The ESPN watchers need a game-closing highligt.

WINNING !!!!

Dallas can score quickly and they kicked an onside kick against Buffalo, got the ball back and won the game.

Philly won the game. Nobody can say anything about what he did. Fantasy owners continue to cry.

I have a player in my league who is 5.23 points behind because of Westbrook and he's facing chicago's special teams.

Excellent move IMO. Philly got the win running out the clock and not having to worry about the "Impossible" happening.

Might be the smartest play I've seen. Dallas would have had a less than 5% chance to win if he scored a TD, but sliding down at the 1 made it 0%. Kneel, kneel, kneel, hand the ball to the refs, shake hands and you just beat the Cowboys IN Dallas. I wish there were a lot more players who would put the team winning above their personal stats like that.

Very awful. I have 4 teams in the playoffs and all 4 had Tony Romo, Marion Barber. The rest of my players, even the scrubs I was forced to start, like Dennis Northcutt, scored points today. I thought I had it in the bag and then this. I probably lost in all 4 just because of those 2 players.

I wonder how many people will lose in fantasy because of that, rofl.

Wasnt a smart play at all, they would have been up 2 scores.

I just punked the tom brady guy with Marion Barber and Kevin Jones, he's prolly got a shoulder for ya! :D

There was no reason to do it is all I'm saying. Theyd be up 2 scores either way if he had run it in, plus with the way Romo was playing they were fine.

This very same team that came from behind to beat the Bills (after they were behind by 2 scores with about the same time left) and the Lions? He ensured that the Eagles would win and that Dallas would have no shot, NONE to win.

This is why I hate fantasy football. The guy made a heady, selfless, game-sealing play.... and people are questioning it?

It's one of the smartest plays I've ever seen.

It was the difference in our league.

The guy who had him lost by 2 points.

I've spoken to at least one other person who's match-up swung on that play, too.

Insane!

To be fair, I think people were questioning the strategy of it. The fantasy talk came later.

Exactly. The Eagles would have won that game whether he went into the endzone or not. I just found it funny after Maximus brought up the Fantasy aspect of it. Ha!

I beat Med by about 5 points b/c of that... Med had Romo, Crayton, and Witten playing. If the Cowboys get the ball back Romo likely throws for another 50 yards (2 pts), Crayton likely gets 10 yards (1 pt), and Wittne likely gets at least another 20 yards (2 pts) and Med wins with the tie breaker.

It's not 0%. Joe Pisarcik is proof that it's 0.0001%. Cowboys still had a chance.

It was a move motivated by smarts, class, or both...which explains why it left Raider nation going "WTF?!? ??? "

Haha, actually I won b/c he did that. He knew that Dallas was out of time outs and if he scored, that by some chance, they could score a TD, get an onside and score another one, but if he did, what he did, then they can kneel it and the game's over. A very unselfish play!

Dallas had just as good of a chance to win had he run it in or not. If the gods wanted dallas to win mcnabb would have fumbled and they would have been able to drive down and win. In that same measure, the only way they would have made up 2 scores with the way the Eagles D was playing and the way the Dallas offense was playing theres no chance Dallas would have made up 2 scores.

Believe what you want the cowboys were done at that point regardless of the score or not.

Dallas has made a couple of semi-miracle last second comebacks this season so anything was definitely possible had he scored the TD.

I wonder if he had the awareness to do this during the heat of the moment or he thought about it ahead of time. I think it was a great move by Westbrook.
