Sorry, but this is the worst offensive line the Broncos have had for the last 20years. Elway ran for his life, and Cutler better have a great insurance policy. This line, sorry, Lepsis is only a fraction of what he was, is totally a missing link. I saw everyone on the line tonight standing there watching Cutler get hit.

Through all of the time I have been a fan, I wish we had players like Claudie Minor back, who NEVER quit trying.... Yes, a lot of you on this forum do not even remember him.... The best years of the Broncos evolved around Zimmerman (who should be in the Hall of Fame), Tony Jones... Not quite Pro-Bowl, but darn close... If we cannot give the QB time, and block the corners, which tonight we never did on even one play... You cannot succeed in this league.

I feel that next year, either through free agency or the draft we need...

2 new offensive tackles...Hopefully Harris can be one.....But as of now, I doubt it, since they have not attempted to play him.

1 run stuffing Defensive tackle... Just to help in the rotation, if nothing else.

1 linebacker, either middle, or outside, which has a "feel" for the game... We have athletes, but we do not seem to have playmakers.

A safety that can tackle. Abdullah missed a tackle in the first quarter that could have changed the entire feel of the game, after the pouch punt by Elam...

Though our needs are so glaring I still hope that.......

The Broncos draft the wide receiver and return man from Cal... DeSean Jackson... Because of the excitement on offense, and hopefully solve the special team’s problems that have ALWAYS existed under Shanny...

But can all of our other needs be solved elsewhere.

Shanny was out coached, and out-play-called by Gary tonight. I would never ask for Shanny to be let go, BUT, tonight I really wondered... Is Shanny too predictable and set in his ways... Maybe he needs to bring in a new, imaginitive mind, to get the predictability out of our offense once again. I almost feel like he has lost his imagination, and stuck in his same play calling rut...

OKAY, enough of rant from an “Older” fan...

That was highly disappointing. Its no wonder why Jay was frustrated and angry about the lack of blocking. Reminded me of the scene from Any Given Sunday when Beaman pissed off his team and the Oline just let the defense smack the Qb around.

Tony Jones was a Pro Bowler.

1998.

So was stink that year.

We had three dudes on the oline in the Pro Bowl that year, Nalen, Stink, and Jones.

Anything but Pears Shanahan, Anything but Pears....

Joe Thomas is a great example.... If Cutler has the time, he will be great.... If he has to look over his shoulder, he is a knee injury away from having to draft a new Quarterback.

True, he was a Pro-Bowler that year, though not on the first vote..

But he was so close to being excellent, he helped the team succeed, which is my point on the original comments.

Yes I did, If a QB is looking over his shoulder, worring about getting hit, YES, his knees are the first thing to worry about...

Look at Carson Palmer. After his hit in the Playoff game, is he the same... If you believe he is, then you you must be drinking something stronger than my Coor's Light...

CONFIDENCE, is the best thing a QB can have... Anything that may derail those thoughts, is a negative. The offensive line, through protection is the best way to have a great QB and team.

Look at this year's highlights, how many passes have you seen Tom Brady throw where, NO ONE, even his blockers are in the picture... That is all you need to know..

Fix the offensive line, and we will be fine..

I don't agree with the interior line. I thought that they have been a hidden strength for this team since around midseason. Holland, Kuper and Myers are keepers.

We are extremely weak on the edges of our OLine. Lepsis sucks this year. He'll be the 2nd highest paid player in 2008. That won't last. Trust me.

Pears is garbage.

We have a good young nucleus of pass blockers on the interior of our line. I think Kuper has a chance to play in some pro bowls. We now need to make the necessary moves to secure some tackles that can help Cutler make it to the next level.

Two names:

Jordan Gross - Free agent tackle from the Carolina Panthers

Jeff Otah - LT from the university of Pittsburgh who reminds me of Tarik Glenn from Indy over the past decade.

Lets not mess around with Cutler's health or the offensive line anymore. Any back can run in this system but a great Oline can make that player special. Cutler needs time with his great arm to connect down the field.

We just need to committ to the thought and make it happen.

This team is built to run the ball. When the rush attacks falters and the defense gives up a lot of points, it very easy for the opponent to just attack QB. I am more annoyed about lack of running game then pass protection at this point.

First I like the Minor reference. I know his son Dee.

Second Yes I think saftey is a concern because I saw Abdullah miss that tackle you said, and many others, even on the ND garbage Darious Walker

I think we need to take a LB and Safty with the first two picks, then OL and DL down the line. The best couple OL will go pretty early so I think we could still get some decent OL in the later rounds, same with DL, i might be wrong though, i think there is a bigger gap between the LBs in the first and last rounds then there is OL. We need to snatch up a great LB and Safety first, or an amazing all around playmaker like that guy from Cal.

The St. Louis Rams will ensure no other team in the league even considers drafting Jake Long.

He will be a Ram mark my words. Their problems with Orlando Pace's health and the rest of their olines health will make Long their selection.

I agree , i think that is a great estimate, they have a good running back that desperately needs OL, but they also need a new QB, but there is not really a huge standout QB that could go that high,

Surely you remember the early 90s, when Dan Reeves allowed John Elway's blindside to be manned by the likes of Jeff Davidson and Russell Freeman.

Nice Post,

Too bad Shanny will sign an aging WR to fill the #3 spot and then draft a DT that has no knee cartilage but lots of upside (- the injury thing). We have a good young nucleus, need to draft for need not Potential.

they dont need a QB after they signed Bulger to all that big $$$.

Bulger needs an oline, and they have had severe injuries to all 5 of their starting olinemen.
