-The defense just isn't getting it done, they need some new players
-Bailey has been dissapointing. Maybe it's because he's been trying to do too much, but he doesn't deserve pro-bowl this year IMO
-The offensive line sucked today, 2 of Willams sacks were vs TE or RB though. You can't expect them to block a possible Pro-Bowl DE. The one vs the TE, both Pears and Holland didn't block anybody. Pears needs to help out the DE
-Why didn't they keep with Young. I guess having your career game means you should get less time to a guy who lost a game for you by fumbling 2 times a few weeks ago.
-They missed Stokely. You can't have just 1 legit WR and expect much offense.
-Too bad we can't play teams as bad as the Chiefs every week. Seattle got lucky to change divisions.
-This is the worse loss of th season IMO. Nothing good can come out of it, except what we already know about Marshall and Scheffler. I know many of you will disagree, since there are so many bad losses to choose from, but this is just my opinion.

Bailey has been disappointing. The way the coaching staff is using him is even more disappointing. I love putting him on the third WR on the field and Andre Johnson just catches pass over pass on Dre Bly, clearly not as good as Champ. That's stupid is hell.
Correction. the OT's suck. The interior line did fine. Nobody saw anything from Johnson or Okoye at DT. We need OT help. Holland had a fine game.
We did miss Stokely. So did Cutler. Good player. Sucks that we didn't have him.
This isn't our worst loss of the season. Just clearly evident that you can't turn chicken $hit into chicken salad. Pears sucks. He always has sucked. There is a reason he wasn't drafted. Same with Lepsis. Unfortunately his best football is behind him. He can't play against physical DE's. He gets his ass kicked every game.
WE need some leadership on this defense. Sage Rosenfels just said he knew that they could throw on our defense... one that features Bly and Bailey. Newsflash, very good players, secondary leaders. We need some big mean M'Fer that will go upside somebody's head if we aren't in our right gap or doing the right assignment. There is no Al Wilson on this defense... not even close.
Gotta fix those questions first.

This is not the worst loss this season it was against Chicago.
During the Chicago game, Denver outplayed them, and except for 3 plays in the game, they would have killed Chicago. Versus Detroit, Cutler went down, and they have no chance without him. The San Diego game was too long ago, and I just decided to completely forget about it. Plus I think it was that game that we had 2 lineman making their first starts in their respective positions.
This game they got manhandled by a .500, non playoff team that hasn't been that impressive all season long. They didn't even do it with mistakes, the only turnover of the game was by them, and was the only reason Denver even scored a touchdown.
And you can't say that the interior of the line did fine with how horrible Denver ran the ball today.

Completely agree. The commentators tonight were talking about how most QB's are best on their right side, since they are right handed, and that is the natural place for a right handed person to look, read, etc.
So, it makes sense to keep Champ at the right side at all times.
HOWEVER, this only works with a defensive line that gets pressure and forces a QB to make a quick read to Champ's side, and hopefully throws a poor pass.
If a team can put their best WR on the left side, and if the QB has time to make all the reads, it doesn't work. I think Champ should just shadow the #1 at all times.

He should also not worry about the run. he has been beat too many times off of play actions, and double moves.

i dont know what you know about the Texans this season, but they have been quite impressive this season if you look at some of their games.
They didnt have Andre Johnson, there best offensive player, for a number of games but were still able to maintain a decent record.
Now without Schaub, there second best offensive player, they have managed to stay afloat.
They had a gutty comeback against the Tennesse Titans this season and almost won that ballgame.
They have the most guys in the league on IR yet remain tough and relentless.
Give Kubes and Rick Smith credit for what they have been building down there.

And how many times do you guys think our defense sees a bootleg or play action in practice? WHY THE **** CANT THEY COVER IT. In training camp I know our defense sees the bootleg at least 100 times and through out the season god knows how many times in practice...just pathetic. We looked worse than the cheifs _efense playing against the bootleg. Its not like we dident know Kubes was going to run it.

Fair enough, but many times he's the one who has to stop the RB from breaking a huge run.

i. We need to improve our OL and DL for sure otherwise we don't stand a chance.
ii. We either need walker healthy or another play maker on offense.
iii. IMO Selvin is more of boom or bust runner. He either gets a long run or nothing. Henry looks done and even if he gets healthy for next year too much of a risk. We need a RB (ironically someone like Henry of 1st 2 weeks - preferably without baggage)
We can mask any other holes with these improvements.

They are better and will get even better, but they have beaten KC, Miami, Carolina, Oakland, NO, TB, and now Denver. TB is the only team without a losing record. To their credit, they have had a tough record, but they still are a non-playoff team. Honestly, Denver still has almost as good of a chance as Houston does now. They hadn't been any more impressive than Denver before tonight. Denver had a game they should have won, or at least put up a fight in, but they didn't even come close.

We are having trouble stopping run and we are even using 8 in the box for that. Everyone in the def is trying hard to stop run. That only makes us susceptible to PA. We improve our DL that can stop run and get pressure with front 4(like Ten with Haysworth), we will look very different.

He can tackle the RB, just not until he's sure it isn't a pass. He's too good a corner to get beat on passes because he's worried about getting beat on the run. Otherwise move him to safety, and let somebody else cover the WR. He would make a heck of a free safety though. Lets bring in Samuel. . .

This is not the worst loss this season it was against Chicago.
So when you know the coaches and players and all of their tendencies and get whooped up like that, plus you have a reasonable shot of going to the playoffs if you win, you say this is not the biggest loss of the year?

Chicago was almost inexcusable...the loss to Green Bay WAS inexcuseable.
Losing to Oakland in any year, anywhere, for any reason is inexcuseable.
Losing 41-3 at home is unforgiveable...44-7 to Detroit is just flat-assed embarrassing.
Making the Chiefys our whipping boys...worth the trip.

The thing that jumped out to me last night was the lack of intensity by the Broncos players. They looked so business like...as if they were showing up for another day at the office.
When every game from here on out is a playoff game, you better be pumping your fist on first downs, beating your chest on defense, talking trash to the opposing team.
None of that happened. It looked like they didn't care a whole lot.
Very disappointing way for things to end. :pity:

If we are going to play 8 in the box, I'd like to see at least half of those guys on the offensive side of the LOS. We have good cover corners, why not blitz the hell out of them. No offense to the Mighty Sage, but how can you let that guy beat you?
I know that it's not Bates' system but sometimes (especially against crappy QB's) you have to gameplan differently. Keep doing the same thing is going to keep producing the same results...

My biggest complaint was the play calling at certain times. Especially when they went for it on 4th and 10 in the fourth quarter from the 36 or so. I have no problem with going for it there, but every single route was run for 20+yards and Cutler ended up getting sacked. That has to be the dumbest play called all night.

Anyone else worried about Elam? I know, he was two for two last night (41 and 47 yarder).
The guy is obviously money from inside 50, but twice last night (pooch punt drive early on and the first drive of the second half) the Broncos elected not to attempt 52-55 yard field goals. He makes one or both of those, and the Broncos are up by two or down by only one in the early third quarter. Instead, they go for it on 4th, don't make it, and give up a TD on the ensuing drive....which puts them down by 11, and the game just seems to get away from them after that.
Both calls last night could've been the correct calls to make based off field position, etc. And I'm fine with that part of it. But I can't help but think in the back of my mind that Elam's weakening leg strength is starting to dictate how we call plays.....and I just don't like going down that road. I want to know late in a game that, if a field goal is needed, getting to the 35 or even 40 is enough to at least have a good chance of making it (assuming good weather, etc). I don't want to have to concede that the 30 yard line has all of a sudden become the target.

Dude, Lepsis held the sh*t out of Williams all game and they didn't call it. That officiating crew sucked balls all around...both ways.
It was funny watching Cutler yell at the ref after those plays but the dumb a**** in the booth didn't know (or wouldn't acknowledge) what he was hot about. They could have spent plenty of time showing that replay (of his head getting ripped off) and talking about it.
They probably weren't allowed to because the game was on the NFL network.
