It was a local lovely who was set up by a certain socialite on a blind date with Todd Sauerbrun at Ocean in Cherry Creek on Friday night, just hours before the Broncos punter allegedly assaulted a cab driver in front of the restaurant.

According to the woman, who did not want to be identified, she met Sauerbrun at 6:30 p.m. at the restaurant, but by 8:30, he had downed so many vodkas that she decided to end the encounter.

The woman was so appalled by the Broncos booter's behavior that she asked an Ocean manager to put her would-be suitor in a cab. She left the restaurant thinking the nightmare date was over, until friends called to alert her to the Rocky story Monday about police citing the punter for simple assault around 12:30 a.m. Saturday and taking him to a detox center.

Head coach Mike Shanahan has said he'll wait until the outcome of Sauerbrun's appearance in Denver County Court in two weeks before determining the future of the punter, who will be an unrestricted free agent after this season.

As far as a future between the blind daters? Let's just say this twosome won't be going to the playoffs.

So the question is, how ugly is she? If you meet your date at 6 30 and need to pound vodka to get the ugly off your eyes, maybe she should just be happy he didnt have an emergency cell call from his sick mother like so many of her earlier blind dates.
