How much of the white stuff did you get?
Here in Boulder and at my house in Westminster it's just a messy 1-1/2".
I prefer a foot or two+!

About a foot in the boat! Damn near rolled my bobcat this morning. Hole Shiat. Only had two of the wheels chained up and being the first real snow of the season I made a rookie mistake and got to close to a REAL nasty bank. Was hanging sideways for a bit but managed to drop the bucket in time to get some balance to avoid a roll over.
I'm with ya Hot Rod. Freakin Snow!

Let it Snow
Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
It doesn't show signs of stopping
And I've bought some corn for popping
The lights are turned way down low
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
When we finally kiss good night
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight
All the way home I'll be warm
The fire is slowly dying
And, my dear, we're still goodbying
But as long as you love me so
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Yeah try working at an airport see how this **** makes you feel then. I used to love snow until I started working managing airports. Last year I spent 14 days at work Centennial Airport. 8 straight weekends of coming in on days off to plow and dig out signs under 4' drifts.
This year I moved to DIA. After the debacle last year I get called in when there is a 30% chc in the forecast. So guess where my ass is heading right now.
I love Colorado but man after last year I am just not ready for it this year.

How does one get employed at DIA?

How does one get employed at DIA?
Well it all depends on what you want to do. Here is how I it worked for me:
-I have been in aviation management for 5 years now and I have made lots of connections and my reputation is good.
-I knew from insiders here that DIA was in for some changes and were going to bring in outsiders. So I monitored http://www.denvergov.org/TabId/37910/TopicId/1105/default.aspx this is the city job page.
-When they posted the job that I wanted I submitted my application, resume, and answered all sorts of supplemental questions.
After this it gets really screwy. See they don't have one person who judges the applications. They have several and they all grade your application with their own ideals. I had to resubmit my application 2 times. First time I scored a 76 which put me way down on the eligible list. The second time I scored a 94. Same questions, same answers, different reviewer.
So after making the list I waited another 2 months and got called for an interview. 2 weeks after interviewing I got the job offer.
In all it took me 9 months to go through the process. But that was for my job and it took them awhile because they were hiring outsiders for a job that usually takes 5 years working at a lower position to promote into.
I don't know your background but PM me if you have questions. DIA is a city pretty much. There are so many different ways to work out here. I work for the city. So I get great benefits but with the number crunch on the budget the raises are few and far between. But we have a ton of different departments.

I agree. I have only been out here 6 months and I consider this cold.
Getting soft fast.

I'll take the snow over rain, we just had a major flood here and it really sucked. I-5 was closed since Monday with up to 10 feet of water over the road.

Goob I can say I agree with you on this. I went to High School in Savannah Georgia. Any time we got remnants of a Hurricane or a big rain even the only highway that connected my neighborhood to the city was washed out for days. It sucks and there is nothing you can do. At least with snow you can dig it out.

I spend 7+ years out on the flightline while in the service. In korea I remember days when it was 20+ below with winds that would almost cut your exposed skin.
I still love winter, and I still love snow.
If you don't like it, I suggest a move SOUTH!

No it doesn't have to due with the cold or snow. I love winter too. Just after what we all went through at the airports here last year snow is still the last thing I want to see.

Yeah I lived in Denver down by Wash Park/DU. Had on street paring. The snow didn't get moved until the end of February! Had to buy new shocks and struts with all the ruts in the snow.
Funny story though. I missed the start of the blizzard for work and wasn't called in so I was stuck at home until they opened the roads and then I was called in. I get out and all my yuppie neighbors are digging out there cars barely making any head way. I had a Blazer ZR2 edition so it had a locker in the rear axle and 32" Off road tires. I cleaned my windows warmed up the car popped it in 4 LO and drove right out of the snow. Made $100 pulling out the rest of my neighbors!
