Shows like "All in the Family" and "Sanford & Son" would never make
it on the air today. I guess the only reason they are even played
on the cable channel TV Land is because of their historical relevence.

We owned slaves so this in a non issue. We don't get to be upset when we get stereotyped like this. For one our racist jokes are really funny, but we only say them at secret white only underground racial joke parties.
We actually are really fly, funny, athletic but if we demonstrate those traits Al Sharpton will make us give up 40 acres and a mule to every person that has any black in them.
Turns out we would need 300 trillion mules and 7 earths.
Well that's not possible so we made a deal with him that we would let the stand up comic jobs, pro sports, musicians be filled with 80 percent blacks and he agreed.

Personally I think that "All in the Family" does teach the idiocy of bigotry -- its not like anyone comes away after watching it thinking that Archie's racial views are something to emulate...
All, I know is that Billy is evil, and all white people are evil, and that ONLY white people can be bigots...

Personally I think that "All in the Family" does teach the idiocy of bigotry -- its not like anyone comes away after watching it thinking that Archie's racial views are something to emulate...
What was cool was there were shows on like "All in the Family" that
had a white guy as a racist idiot. But there were also shows like
"Sanford and Son" and "The Jeffersons" where you had lead characters
who were also a racist idiots. And in all those shows you had characters
who knew they were and constantly pointed out their idiocy.
