just when you thought...

the broncos have a 10-3 lead and might pile more on - 3 and out, touchdown Hester
the broncos have taken seized control again with a TD to Sapp - kickoff, touchdown Hester game tied
the bears are self destructing, unable to contain dumerville and giving up td's to marshall and shceffler, then fumble the ball....penalty ST - punt block, offense scores
the broncos might be able to run down some clock after a 1st down to marhsall - two run plays, no gain, cutler sack...punt
the broncos might avoid a comback on 4th & 9 - mainly from the bears inability to catch the ball - penalty called on bly automatic 1st down
rex grossman....we'll be safe...our defense suddenly make him look like peyton manning

yep, just when you thought this team turned the corner, they go and lose a 14 point lead in the 4th. this team lacks the ability to put teams away.

just needed to vent.

The team has just been inconsistent. End of story. Sucks but its part of the growing pains right now.

the thing that pi$$ed me off was that we were up 10-3 and Grossman is looking at 3rd and 37 after being mauled by the Denver pass rush on 2 straight downs. so what does bates do? he drops 9 in coverage and rushes 3, allowing Adrian Peterson to catch a little dink pass and take it 26 yards and into fg range. In short, we gave away 3 points there when we should've just stayed with what was working--an all out pass rush and aggressive front 7. lo and behold, we lost by those 3 points. this team is not good enough to hand teams even a field goal, and that's exactly what we did there.

At the risk of sounding horribly optimistic and positive (and believe me I wasn't feeling that way last night...) perhaps each unit needs to get ripped apart before it can really start to come together....

It was the defense that got torn a new a-hole in the San Diego game. Personally I believe that it was really the offense that got schooled in the Detroit game more than the defense....

Now the offense and defense have got their act together and the special teams go and implode. I don't normally spot stuff before the snap on TV, but I saw that punt-block coming......

Yeah, okay, the defense annoyed me on that last drive, but they should have been 21 points down not seven.....

We talk about talent a lot on this board but a hell of a lot of this game is about 11 guys working in sync. Not sure if this season is still salvageable but I'm a hell of a lot more positive about the next...

Great point, just before the Bears ran that play my jaw dropped when I saw how we were lined up. It was so obvious the Bears wouldn't go for the whole 37 yards, and just try to salvage a field goal and Bates handed it right to them.

I hate the idea of starting over with a new D-Coordinator again next year, but I am REALLY hating Bates right now.

i'm startin to think Shanny doesn't have a clue how to build 3 teams: O, D and ST. He's pretty damn good at O. Then lots of question marks for lots of years.

there are some things to get excited about...for years to come.

our offense could be one of the best, as early as next season.
cutler, scheffler, marshall, walker - these guys are going to be awesome barring injury. then you got selvin young and andre hall - not to mention henry if he sticks around.

the down side is our defense, from my perspective is a few years away. i am excited about the young guys - but there are more holes to fill.
need more DL help, 2 lb's and a safety. not sure you can address all that in one offseason.
