I bet Elvis is happy!
Rex fumbled once last week, Elvis should force at least one fumble and grab a few sacks.
We need to pressure this guy.
Only bad thing is that he will go over the top. Good thing is that Berrian is hurt, that leaves Hester (who they hardly throw to) and Bradley as the deep threats.
I like Champ and Bly matching up on Bears WR's.
I think Bears biggest threat is Olsen at TE. Curtis Buston could have a big day and maybe break 100 for 1st or 2nd(?) time this year but he or Adrian Peterson should be containable.
Weather is to be 43 and clear. Expecting Snow any minute here.

Maybe Elvis can bend him over then we can caption it.

Olsen isn't half the TE Tony Gonzalez is and we seem to do a pretty good job containing him. The person who has me worried is Cedric Benson. He's extremely capable of having a good game...

Benson is not even as good as Lendale White and TENN's O-line is MUCH better than chicagos---our ONLY worry should be can our offense remain turnover free against chicago's, quick penetrating defense...if we do...then we win this game.

Living in Chicago, is pretty amazing how down fans here are on Grossman. I've watched a decent number of his games, and its not only pressure that forces Grossman to make mistakes, its his inaccuracy. He also seems to be easily rattled. Since I don't have Sunday Ticket i watch the Bears more than any other team, except the Broncos.
He actually has good deep throws, but anything short or medium range he is iffy at best. I think our best bet is to stack the line against the run and dare Grossman to beat Bly and Bailey.
Chicago's defense though is an enigma. They have had games where they looked absolutely terrible, and other games where they looked incredible (see Chargers game early this year). They are fast, and their D-Line can get lots of pressure. It we can give Cutler ok protection, I think he can have a good day like last week.

You're forgetting that half their D got injured in that SD game.

this game wouldve made me a bit nervous had griese been at the helm (go ahead and lay it on me if you feel it necessary :approve: ) but grossman starting gives me comfort.
griese has the ability to pick apart a defense with short and mid routes, and thats where our defense is weakest.
rex throws a nice deep ball (not always accurate, but God knows he can wing it down there) which could burn us once or twice, but BESIDES that deep ball, he can be rattled in the pocket (if we can generate any pressure) and his inaccuracy (knock on wood!!) on the mid length routes should allow us to take some chances with the blitz.
as for our offense, cutler is developing quicker than i couldve hoped for (ESPECIALLY given the injuries) and has become a vocal leader on the team, which of course is something we desperately needed with the departure of jake, al, and burnsy, all three of which were captains.
walker should be back (knock again) and stokely has developed a nice chemistry with jay.
as much as we've missed walker, in the long run his absence has been a GOOD thing, as its allowed cutler to really develop his bonds with stokley and marshall.
with walker back, we have a bona fide deep threat and one heck of a talented threesome at the position.
hopefully henry is out again, and hopefully selvin can make it back from injury to play this week.
henry seems to me to be a cancer, but selvin young is the hard worker that wills his way to success a la rod smith.
i think he may be the future here at running back, and im okay with that.
no predictions (bad luck), but a win here and we're 6-5 and in first place.
we'd be in a position that virtually no one (except some of us here) thought was possible.

Well, we know Lovie is already trigger happy - if we shell Rexy for 21 points early, he'll likely get the hook & we can all enjoy the Greasy reunion in the 2nd half..

They better not let Hester touch the ball. Kick to the up man or out of bounds (even kickoffs) I would rather see REXMAN start at the 40 than have Hester score.

If we get up for this game we should win. Hopefully they are carrying their good practice routines into the following weeks.

Desperation is what makes this game especially difficult.
Chicago is desperate...the Broncos are not...sorry, they're not.
Green Bay has already run away with the division. The only hope the Bears have is the wild card, and right now, they still have a shot, albeit a long shot with Denver, the Giants & Green Bay still on the menu & ALL at home...there's also New Orleans in there at the end, but the Saints have reverted to their roots lately.
Point is; the 'Bars' still face high hurdles regardless of how the Denver game turns out, but if they lose this one...they can pretty much start planning for next year.
Denver, on the other hand, plays in the worst division in football. The Broncos kick out a hairball Sunday...so what??
There's always Oakland, KC, Houston & Minnesota slow cooking for a 9 win finsh, and that could win the division.

I have seen Rex play a few times on TV and he looks just like Plummer only Plummer never got hurt. He makes dumb passes and if you get a lead the dumb plays will double. Our key to this game is get an early lead and get pressure on Rex.

except for the fact that in plummers 3+ years here he had one of the LOWEST int. percentages while playing with a lead and the best TD to turnover ratio in broncos history.
.....other than that youre spot on.

I've seen a lot of people on the TV picking the Bears because of the exact same reasons you've stated here. Hopefully our boys will show up.

Wabbit, you have to remember, there are a ton of pessimists on this board who simply do not believe the Broncos have a chance against the Little Sisters of the Poor. And that's when the Broncos are playing well.
Chi-town is 1 and half "favorites". For a home team that's not good to be virtually even at home. What that means, I think is that people are not sure if the two game win streak is predictive or a fluke. The Broncos have a good chance of winning this game, but it is not certain, by any means.
I'd personnaly rather they man up and win this thing, put pressure on the sparkies.....

Hey orange, Plummer sucks balls. He was an interception machine and it took the games best QB guru in Shanahan to get Plummer to stop his brain farts.
But keep throwing out that useless stat and ignore his skidmark of a career in Arizona.

ummm, why would i care what he did in arizona?
its people like you that are the problem with our fans.
God forbid cutler has a rough year or two. im sure youll find some creative names for him too.
hell, some of you (not sure if you were one of them) were jumping on him a few weeks ago. whatever.

Cutler is already have a rough year, throwing ints and fumbles and I completely support him because Plummer was playing like a lost rookie after almost a decade in the NFL.

no, i think cutler is having an EXCELLENT year, especially when you look at the circumstances.
see, thats the problem with simple minded "fans" like yourself. you arent capable of analyzing the entire situation. just whatever you see on the surface.

O4L., you will need to come to the realization that any logical argument regarding Plummer is a lost cause because the data is lost on those unwilling to listen. Facts do not matter. Only distorted, emotionally charged perceptions based on prejudices and biases win out in these sort of "discussions". Whether Plummer won or not would not have mattered, because it didn't matter. But he is no longer the Broncos QB.
I am happy with Cutler. So, it doesnt matter to me what anyone says or thinks about Plummer. I suggest you let it go as well.....

Good post, Jake... and keep in mind, Sheffler has started to become a weekly part of the offense. Dude's a walking mismatch. I love what he brings.
Offensively, it's starting to look a little bit like most of us thought it could at the beginning of the season with all of these weapons.
Now, potentially add a speedy change of pace back in Hall, and it gets even more interesting.

Popps, you have a point, but I just don't think Shanahan calls the TE pass plays enough IMHO.... Especially in the red zone.

I think Sheffler is in the slow process of getting out of Shanahan's doghouse. He seems to be close. I also don't know what kind of blocker he is, and we know how Shanny puts a premium there.
Agree about the red zone. Who could cover Sheffler? He's gigantic, fast and usually has sure hands.
Hope we keep developing the kid into the plans. He/Graham make a brutal pair for teams to have to defend.

We should throw to Sheffler more often. And "skidmark" is a word for the favorites list.

Yeah, analyzing the entire situation huh? That must be why you can't bring yourself to look at Plummers career in it's entirety but come out with lame a$$ statements about how his career was only in Denver.
And I will keep calling you out on this as long as you maintain your dumba$$ revisionist stance about how great Plummer was until Shanahan ruined his career by drafting a stud like Cutler.
