"(D) even if (A) of this article states so, none except a Muslim can become a citizen of Maldives.

From the 83 members (of the total 112) present at the time of vote; 78 members voted in favor, 2 members voted to remain neutral, but none of the members voted against this amendment.

A prominent lawyer and one of the members who voted to be neutral , Addu member Husnussuood says that he feared that a number of Maldivians may lose their right to be citizens of Maldives or even worse; become stateless."

Yavoon, it appears you've been doing quite a bit of research wrt the muslim religion and it's affect on seperate societies throughout the world. I for one appreciate it. People need to get a "better" understanding of just what the muslim religion entails in certian circumstances. Claiming to be tolerant yet being one of the most unforgiving religions on the planet, the evidence has given me no reason to trust anything promulgated by them at present. I'm hoping you continue to post, again, appreciate the info...dman

I'm afraid you are correct. Unfortunately, it's going to take some folks getting hurt again, in addition to some members of our government feeling the pain "firsthand" before they understand what we are actually dealing with wrt radical islam and terrorism. Funny actually, it took only one pearl harbor to wake the sleeping giant. It'll take continuous 2x4's to the head of the giant to wake him up this time. All in the name of "political correctness" and politics. And we've made progress over the last half century? Technologically perhaps, as far as understanding what truly is important and why it is such, we've digressed significantly...very sad...dman

most ppl are locked in their politically correct prison. worried only about whatever their petty politicians are feeding them about whatever. you see this too in the partisanship of america now, it has created sides. and now the sides are dug in and will refuse to see something powerful like human rights. all they see is the opportunity to antagonize what they see as the other side.

I'm moving into the mountains. I'll find a cave somewhere. Fill it with beans. Them muslims won't get me. Although, first, maybe I'll find me a young filly who shares my concerns and also seeks survival. Yeah. That's the ticket. We'll start a new race...
