Well, as predicted, the Broncos will go as far as Cutler will take them this year. How much he continues to improve this year is the question, but I think you can see some growth every time he is out there. If the running game doesn't break down and they can keep a couple of WRs out there, and if Sheffler gets healthy, the O should be fine. The Oline seems to be doing okay as a "bailing wire and bubble gum" creation at this point.

I don't mind the comparisons to Favre. But it is meaningless to do so because Cutler has to find his own level. Right now, I'd say he is about the fifth or so best QB out there in terms of performance. But he can do better, and the team can do better. So, the comparisons to Elway's first fifteen games is neat, but Cutler still has to do a real comeback in a real meaningful game to get the big QB label.

I really do like his play now and his potential. It seems that his teammates all do, too.

Nice piece. Good feelings.

Another thing that sets Cutler apart from many QBs...he really enjoys being 'the man'...the guy that has to make plays to make the whole thing go.

His coaches at Vandy admit he didn't have a lot of playmakers, but Cutler could raise their game just by playing as well as he did. He likes the pressure and even says as much.

Losing some of his key people here this year may actually benefit Jay in the long haul...he's had to grow into his job faster and use the tools available to the best advantage.

He really seemed to struggle when Walker first went out, but you could see him really exploiting Titan coverages Monday Night...something I hadn't seen as much before.

It's been a huge help to have a Stokely and emerging Marshall in there during this O-line re-structure and RB of the week routine, but much of the growth is all him, exactly as Shanahan wanted, if not sooner than expected.

2006. SanFran Game.

berth in the playoffs on the line.

Cutler, in only his 5th NFL start, leads the Broncos to a game tying-overtime sending TD with a supersonic missel to Tony Scheffler.

Then, while trying to lead the Broncos into Elam range, his receivers begin to drop a number of key passes, and the Broncos pathetic excuse of a defense allows the Niners to get into FG range and win the ballgame.

Lets get this kid some more defensive playmakers and hope the offense gains more consistency.

He'll be a star soon enough.
