there's a reasonable excuse for all of em I imagine, but big picture u gotta hit more often.
hitting on a qb can wipe out a lot of drafting mistakes tho...

I think they made the right pick with Marcus Nash, the mistake they made was cutting him loose after only 1 season. They never gave him a chance to develop.

They've done a fine job. They have a solid, underrated record this century, despite the popular myths to the contrary. It's not off the charts, but it is a decent record.
High priced FAs....that's another story.

Wow, these guys really do use Street & Smith's to draft, just like George Halas.

The failure to develop a drafted player is as much the coaching staffs fault as it is the players. There is obviously something that management wants in a draft pick and failure to develop those skills and talents and use them when appropriate has been one the Broncos biggest failures.
That said, the Broncos are known for getting the most average guys to succeed on this team (giving opportunities to undrafted FA or guys that work at Subway, etc)...see RB, OL, LB, WR positions. But we also are a 'win now' team also and we don't want to invest long drawn out progress charts for each player, especially if there is another Undrafted FA running circle around our draft picks. The 'win now' regime demands high turnover especially in the modern NFL.
Personally, I like what the management has done, if it don't work or stinks - get it out of there! How many DYNASTIES were built on a good draft??? None! How many great teams has Denver compiled with UNDRAFTED FREE AGENTS paving the way??? They don't always hit gold in the first rounds of the draft but they do a great job finding average personnel and making them work or valued enough to find or trade for some great players - we heard it all night long during MNF football (See - Selvin Young and Andre Hall) and even heard from Rod Smith (another Undfted Star).
