9 games into the season, and no Broncos running back has more than 1 rushing TD. that's astonishing to me. :o ...and mike bell only has 3 yards on 5 carries for the season.

Normally, we'd have a RB with multiple TD games by now. There's a lot of things that go into this, especially our O-line and our playcalling near the end zone - because of our O-line. Hopefully, this will change.

It has about zero to due with playcalling and all about our offensive line unable to get any sort of push on any sort of short yard situation.

None of our backs are that talented and our line is mediocre right now. We need a feature back and some nasty linemen going into next year.

Tonight we watched another RB goes for no gain on short-n’-goal…

Put Mike Bell in!!!!! 8 rushing TD in his rookie year!!!!!

i was surprised to hear shanny tonight in the press conference. A reported asked about the young guys stepping up, and Mike said after Selvin went down, Andre made the most out of the opportunity, and after Andre they had Cecil to put in there...Not even thinking about playing Mike Bell, I wonder what transpired that made him lose all confidence in Mike's ability to play tailback?

i don't know what bell has done to get buried so deep in shanahan's doghouse, but i'd like to see him come in on 3rd or 4th and short yardage as well, and not just as a blocking FB. it looks to me like selvin young gets a bad case of happy feet in those situations... he just doesn't seem to want to just hit the hole at full speed.

also, what happened to leaping when you've got goal to go at the 1 or 2? when i was growing up, just about every NFL team had a RB who could go airborne in those situations and it was very hard to stop them from picking up 1 or 2 yards unless a LB could time his leap to meet the RB in mid air. you just don't see that very often anymore.

1. Bells case of fumbleitis last season is probably the biggest cause, Shanny is quick to crucify fumblers.
2. DLinemen have caught on to the jumping thing. If your line doesn't guarentee you're gonna get across the line then the refs are gonna throw their arms up.

My opinion on the 1 rushing TD is that we aren't scoring on long runs like we used to. That involves finishing a run instead of just running out of bounds.

It has to do with the number of players you can have active for the game. Sapp is our FB and Hall is our KR, so they are natural 3rd and 4th string RBs. Young is quicker than Bell and has as good a vision so really there just isn't any room for Mike to even be activated. I'm actually a little surprised that we don't give it to Sapp on those goal line situations. He certainly has more power than the others.

When Bell takes off that No. 30, I'll root for him to get more carries.

I disagree, Henry is very talented (Ithink he is tad slow) and has been banged up -- but he is a starter on 20 other NFL teams. Young is not a power guy, but he is a rookie and only going to get better. Its our O-line that has been subpar at best.

To me it seems that once someone gets on Shanny's good side or bad he stays there longer than he should. For those that dislike Gold, you could make the aurgument that he is high on him, there have been a few other head scratchers over the years -- can you say Griese, anyone?

There have been other players when given the chance that have excelled in other systems. I think that Bell could be that type of guy -- I like the guy I really do, but in Bell you may have a guy that has more power than Young, but less speed, and way less power than Henry, but more speed, so Bell sits while those other players play to thier strengths.

If he isn't going to play, why keep him? He just costs money.......

I actually had a Mike Bell sighting last night. He's playing on special teams. He didn't do anything but slow down when the Titans return man took a knee in the endzone. BUT, HE WAS OUT THERE!!!

And what do they do if Henry is suspended, and Young's knee really gets hurt . . .

Having a back-up FB that can play RB is not a bad thing, particularly on an undrafted rookie's salary.

Ummm, do you understand how depth works? This is a pretty stupid comment.
