This is a joke. Why was this game picked as the flex game again? Aren't they supposed to pick the best matchups? Browns At Ravens looked great and ended up being the better game. Hey look, BB goes for it on 4th and down again up 42-10.

I'm a fair guy but these guys are trying to make Buffalo look stupid. BB says he respects Jauron... enough to kick him in the balls?

I can't wait to watch this team fail. It's like Minnesota in 98'. People starting talking about how good they were. I'm just waiting for the team desperate and undisciplined enough to go after Brady when he's in the game and they are up now 49-10.

Bronco Yoda

What a bunch of A-holes these patsies have become. You're up 32 points in the 4th and you go for it on 4th down instead of kicking a FG and be done with it.

PatsWin2002
11-18-2007, 10:52 PM
Kicking a FG is a much higher percentage than going for it on 4th down. We are trying to help them stop us.

"Trying to help them stop 'us' ", your arse! First, you are not playing in that game, so you should use correct language that relates to reality.

Secondly, BB is pi$$ed at the whole NFL and is trying to rub their noses in the "look at me" BS. That sux, and I am glad theBroncos own that MoFo and his stinking team.....

That One Guy
11-18-2007, 11:37 PM
I kind of agree with the other guys... yeah, they could kick a field goal but they could also just punt on 1st down. If they just keep running plays and they just keep converting, so be it. If the Pats failed to convert one of those 4th downs, I doubt they'd be concerned. They aren't just going to quit though, once you start quitting it becomes a mindset and the one time that mindset starts too early... they're gonna get burned. If they're running a play, they're gonna run it the best they can. I've seen the Broncos run it on 4th down just kinda saying "stop us and take the ball, we don't want to score anymore" and that's considered respectable when it gets stopped but considered running up the score if the players convert it? That's bogus. The Pats are just so much better than everyone else that even when they don't really try, they still score basically at will.

That said, I do agree with those that said Tom coming out firing is a bit overboard. They went to a lot of run plays but they kept firing basically until Tom left the game.

These people have assembled a freakin' elite fantasy squad up there in NE... what's wrong with them trying to go down in history as the best team ever? Everyone wants to say they can't be considered for the best team ever yet because they haven't accomplished enough but then want to say they're beating everyone up too bad. It's not like this is a one week occurance and they're just trying to embarrass a team... they want to tell the whole NFL to expect a down-home whoopin' when you play the Pats.

I don't have a problem with what they are doing... On the other hand, leaving your starting QB in there throwing on 4th and 1 while up by 40 in the 4th quarter is asking for a problem. This is all fun and games to New England fan right now... whatch what happens when someone gets injured under the above circumstances. That same coach that is getting all of this praise right now will be run out of town if this thing goes sideways.

I'll eat crow if the Patriots don't win the Superbowl this year. I think it's done deal.

Yeah, I know there have been lots of instances of teams being hot in the regular season and then choking in the playoffs, but not this team. They are so much better than the rest of the NFL.

bpc
11-19-2007, 12:24 AM
I'm getting real tired of hearing the stupid excuse that "the game is 60 minutes" ... "it's not the offenses job to stop scoring". Their whole season has been in bad taste. If BB doesn't like that egg was smeared all over his face from spygate, he shouldn't have been doing it.

Guilty is guilty. He got caught doing it.

As for the 60 minute comment... there is something called tact. BB and the Patriots lack that right now. I don't so much care about NE going for it on 4th and 1 up 32 in the 3rd quarter... I have a problem with Brady being in the game up over 4 TD's. It's just bull crap.

I would never wish an injury on anybody but NE is begging for something to happen to Brady by being up by so much and still throwing on teams.

BB should stop trying to get back at the NFL by trying to throw up as many points on teams as possible. Last thing I would want to see if I were the patriots is the officials being heavy handed in the playoffs which ends up costing them a chance at the super bowl.

OH yeah... just looking at patriotsplanet... man, those fans are f'n arrogant.

My dream right now since we rolled into Arrowhead and spanked the chiefs would be to sneak into the playoffs a la 96' Jaguar style and stomp out Tom Brady and the Patriots in their own house. Man that would be sweet.

The Colts had the Pats beat, they just couldn't hang on. (Defense wins big games.)

I just hate the idea of NE going undefeated because we'll have to hear about how they're the "greatest ever," which any football historian will tell you is ****ing nonsense.

I can name 5 past SB teams that are better, and make an argument for 10.

There's just no other solid teams out there. This is the same way Indy won it last year. No real competition.

When the Cowboys were winning SBs in the 90s, they had to get through top flight teams to even get TO the big game, and then had to play the Bills, who I personally believe were every bit as good as this Patriots team.

People have no memories, or no brains. One or the other.

Bwa ha ha.....good one. BTW, is there any team that Tom Brady might be pooping himself over, if they make the playoffs.......like...oh, I don't know....MY team? Yes, the Pats look completely dominant this year, and nearly everything is rolling their way......maybe peaking a little early is all.

Also, Moss is great but Welker is an animal. Good job by Belichick for nosing him out. IMO, another place to find under-performing WRs because of crap QBs would be SD.

I dunno why exactly but I made it all the way to page 7 of that and stumbled upon some of the oddest reasoning I've ever seen

I think Brodie might be a little like Trent Green...too good to be successful on a Herm Edwards team.

Huard was good last year because he had the 'holy **** these guys aren't blocking I'm just going to heave the ball up to TG and pray!'

I think Brodie is too good to ever do something like that...and that might end up hurting us this year...but hopefully we can fix our line this offseason.

For flex scheduling I would much rather see the Bills/Jags game this next week. Much more playoff impact there, wild card possibilities, division lead possibility in the AFC south, etc. The Eagles are done barring a catastrophic collapse of the Cowboys and the Giants. An argument could be made that this is a week 12 division clinch for the Patriots, but that would just be obfuscation for the Patriots media hype.

Even if you are going to argue the "perfect season" angle, the reality is either the Giants or the Steelers have a much better chance of killing the Patriots dreams. So I agree 100%, this flex scheduling swap is a joke, and the only possible reasoning behind it is to heap more love on New England in a pathetic attempt to take back spygate.

I don't have a problem with the Pats running up the score and keeping Brady in.

It just shows how incredibly stupid the GMs etc are in Miami and Oakland for allowing guys like Moss/Welker to be shipped out to an AFC powerhouse for 2nd/4th round picks. The way these franchises draft anyway it was the equivalent of trading Moss or Welker for a sh*t sandwich.

Scott Pioli: Hey Al can we get Randy Moss for a 4th so that we can match him up with one of the best QBs in the league?

Al Davis: Sure, just lemme get my vaseline.
