I know most of you don't care about the Mountain West, let alone BYU, but since some do (mostly me) I'm going to post this here. :p

My Cougs are really starting to turn things around. I hope we can get to Boise state level of production in a year or so. Our recruiting class was the best of the mountain west conference last year. This year we are looking to blow the rest of the division out of the water.

We recently nabbed this tight end who was being recruited by schools like Florida:

Austin Holt TE (http://byu.scout.com/a.z?s=338&p=8&c=1&nid=2403261)

Four star prospect! Our first in I think three years.
We've got some other guys in the wings coming up to.

If we can land Sausan it would be a coup, though we probably have a better shot at Hamani Stevens.

The thing I really like is how they are keeping a lot of size and power in our front seven. That's allowing our very large linebacking corps to fly around and make plays. Everyone in the MWC will be hearing the name of David Nixon very soon if they haven't already. It's nice to see Mendenhall putting us back where we should be: regular contenders to take the Mountain West every year. I think we should be ranked right now, but I suppose it won't happen until the end of the year.

Keep it up, Cougs! :)

Congrats Kahn, I was really impressed by the level of play I saw from BYU at the Las Vegas bowl last year. Looks like you guys are going to be the power of that conference, look out for whoever draws the LV Bowl this year.

It's great to have the talent spread around the country. Makes for better competition. More compettion means more controversy which keeps college football, the greatest sport ever, in people's minds all year long.

I think some of the second tier conferences are equalizing. The WAC has already shown the ability to play with the big boys. It would be great if the MWC got in there and made some noise.

That said, the SEC will always be head and shoulders above the rest. Their players are always so big and fast. Even other "good" teams like Oregon look tiny compared to the LSU's and the Florida's.

Anyway, go Cougs! :)

Good year for BYU this year, Khan. They did a good job not falling back down into the pack after losing Beck, Harline and a few others last year. I'm glad to see you guys doing well. BYU has always been a very exciting team that I look forward to watching.

Thanks Anubis and SoCal. BYU has won ten straight road games, so this win makes it nice. Hopefully we get some votes to be ranked and at least we'll have enough starters back next year that we can hang there. Utah will be tough as they always are, but the game is in Provo and I think we've been more consistent than they are. If we beat them then we win the conference (like we needed anymore motivation). If we go undefeated in the conference two years in a row then people won't be able to shut me up around here. :afro: :haw!:
