Ummmm... no. Actually, we don't want Elvis to go to the Pro Bowl.
Remember what happens when a Bronco defensive lineman starts to earn some recognition around the league?
Shanahan & Sundquist don't want to pay their market value (apparently believing that any fat stiff off the street can play in the defensive line) and offer low-ball free-agent contracts, so the players sign big-money contracts with another team... where they promptly suffer injuries and are off the field anyhow, doing nobody any good.
See Reggie Hayward (gone to Jacksonville) and Bert Berry (gone to Arizona). If the third time is a charm, maybe this time we can keep a decent D-lineman in the blue & orange for a while.

m.

I think you are cherry picking your stats there...
Trevor Pryce and Gerrard Warren got healthy contracts from us... The problem isn't us being stingy. The problem has been not having any talent worth paying.

Of course I'm cherry-picking stats & players, Dave. I thought that was just following along in the best Orange Mane tradition?

Yeah, I was going to post that as well. The guy has played what, 10 maybe 11 games since going to Arizona. Hayward seems like he is eternally hurt as well.

Apparently they Shanahan & Sundquist belived in Doom good for them and us becuz not many teams did.
See Reggie Hayward (gone to Jacksonville) and Bert Berry (gone to Arizona). Bert Berry is on the IR yet again so its not allways a bad thing to be stingy .Trevor Pryce was full of ****.

The Bert Berry aspect of our DE situation is constantly over-blown. It's like that asshat at the DPO still talking about us cutting Nedney once Elam got healthy 7 seasons ago

Bertrand Berry just had his season end early due to injury for the third straight year. We're lucky the front office recognized he wasn't worth his asking price.
I liked Hayward more than most people around here, but management decided that signing four Browns was a better deal. For one season, they were right.

And I'd make the argument that Ian Gold has been more productive for us than Bertrand Berry has been for the Cardinals.

I'd back you on that one. It has become very fashionable to bag on Gold, but the reality is, the guy has contributed a lot since he's been back. He's been on the field and has been the best player at his position these past few years. Berry and Hayward cannot say the same.

Heyward and Berry were both overvalued, and neither can hold Elvis's jock.

And look at all the grief people gave our front office for letting them go. Neither has done very much at all comparative to the money they make.

Best player at his position compared to who?
Players are brought in to compete at every position every year. Gold has beat them all out and has never lost his #1 position in the depth chart. Obviously, he is beating people out for that slot.
