The Denver Broncos (3-5) take to the road for the second consecutive week for a key AFC West game against the Kansas City Chiefs (4-4) on Sunday.

Kansas City, which is coming off a 33-22 home loss to Green Bay, is 4-2 in its last six games following an 0-2 start to begin the year.

Sunday’s contest marks the Broncos’ first AFC West road game of 2007, and they have won their last five divisional road openers dating back to 2002.

Winning away from home has proven to be a challenge recently in the Broncos-Chiefs series, however, as the home team has won the last nine games to mark the longest such streak in Denver history against any opponent in regular-season play.

In the second game of a stretch in which they will play six road games in eight weeks, the Broncos are 10-3 away from home in November since 2000.

Denver has a 33-14 record in November since 1995 for a .702 winning percentage that is the best in the NFL over that span.

The Broncos have been one of the NFL’s top teams in converting third downs with their 48.5 percent success rate ranking fifth in the NFL and projecting to be the second best for a season in club history.

Denver is eighth in the NFL in pass defense (194.9 ypg.) and during the past three weeks has allowed just 18.9 yards per kickoff return for the league’s third-best mark during that time.
