i didnt realize Rice hasn't been on the field in 8 games. Guy can't even get his facts straight. Still disappointing though.

 I missed that gem. What he "meant";) was that it just seems like Rice hasn't been on the field. It was a collossal mistake signing this guy.

44/2! More ammo for those of us who say the Broncos FO has issues. While it seems the last couple of drafts were better, the jury is still out.

44/2... Well technically it is 44/5

we did turn Clinton portis, George Foster, and Tatum Bell into Champ Bailey and Dre Bly...

...and Ben Hamilton was drafted in 2001

Not that 44/5 is much less pathetic....

EDIT: Actually Ashley Lelie and Deltha Oneal were traded and helped us move up in the draft to take DJ Williams and Jarvis Moss

Among the four teams there is not a single player remaining from on their rosters this week from their 2001 drafts.

Did LT get cut this week?

True! Clinton forced the teams' hand so we can't hold that against them. Same for Lelie to some extent. Acquiring Walker was a nice move, but, again, we are having to address a position that should have been stable.

Although we did get a top notch CB in Bailey in the Portis trade, my heartburn is that we had to re-address the CB situation because we whiffed on O'Neal.

And with Bell in Detroit, we also had to backfill the RB position with Travis Henry since Bell also didn't work out. Drafts have been mediocre at best and we've spent too much FA money trying to fix those mistakes.

Here's hope they continue the trend of the last couple of years.

This caught my eye...but if I'm reading this right, it's actually way off...for the Chargers at least:

2001- Tomlinson (1), Polk (4)
2002- Jammer (1)
2003- Florence (2), Wilhelm (3), Scifres (4), Pinnock (6)
2004- Olshansky (2), Kaeding (3), Hardwick (4), Phillips (4), Turner (5), Bingham (6), Olivea (7), Rivers (1)- should count as part of direct trade of picks.

15 players for Chargers, not 8.

It amazes me how writers continue to really screw up their research. We're in the google age. How hard is it to look up and see what draft picks are still on the team?
