View Full Version : Broncos @ KC is always a fight.

But unfortunately the Broncos are 2-11 at KC in the Shanahan era. Wins in 97 playoff, 98 and 02 regular seasons.

In fact, the Broncos have lost for straight in KC. That stat alone should cause us (Broncos fans) to be worried about this Sunday.

With all the injuries, to the offensive line, wide receiver, the health of Henry and Cutler and the issue with the defense not being able to get any stop’s… Sunday could be a long day for Broncos fans.

A win at KC would be a huge stepping stone to getting back into the 07 season. But it’s going to take effort, effort that we saw in the Steeler game. It’s not going to be easy to walk into Arrowhead and get out with a win.

A win is possible with a complete effort and solid game plan from both players and coaches.

The Broncos season starts Sunday @ 1 pm EST.

At least this game isn't in December...

As far as the thread premise, I remember a certain ass whipping in 2004, which was the first time I partied on OF1 and met Meck and Disco (and Crazyhorse, for that matter). The tailgating was great but Dante Hall scored before I could get to my seat and it became progressively worse from there. I can only hope that Sunday won't be nearly as bad as that day...can it???

This team is too inconsistent to build on a win in KC. We may have a shot at a win (albeit a small one) but the reality is that this team is chock full of inconsistent pups. Look for T-Gon to have a huge day.

Yea our game last year was not in December either, but we had flake Jake wth us. This is a big game as our other division teams are playing some tough teams as well.

70 degrees in November at CameroHead ..... I like our chances.

Gonzo is a threat. Kennison is making his post-VirJayJay injury appearance. Watch the Broncos put together four quarters of solid football and skate to an inspirational win. Broncos 38 - Mullets 9

I was at the 2003 matchup. The Hall return game with the two uncalled illegal blocks right in front of the official. We outplayed them that day. Not that i'm still bitter or anything. I still remember the knot in my stomach walking out of Arrowhead that day.

Yep. There's a chance for a "few showers", but it should be a great day for football...

Well, if it turns out to be worse....we can always just tell a few jokes and laugh it all off. You know, to keep things loose and lighten up the mood ::)

I f the Broncos score more than 10 points we will be lucky. Hate to say it but its lights out dor Broncos and the game isnt till Sunday. Chiefs will have their best D game of the year and Holmes gets a golden opportunity to get his game back agaisnt this Bronco Run D.

TV Cams will have 30% of the sideline shots on Shannhan ripping through his cheat sheets, Cutler will get to know Allen intimately, and Bly will blow coverage on at least one bomb.

Sucks, but thats how I see it.

I think we're going to come out and stomp the **** out of the Chiefs. They have a weak O-line that we can take advantage of, no real QB, and our secondary is better than their receivers. Assuming that our players have made some progress as far as the defensive schemes, we should be ok.

They have an OK defense, but I think we can handle them when we have the ball.

Has Kennison been on the field at ALL this year? I think for the first time in years, he will be a non-factor...

Kennison has had a few big plays against us when we played KC, but overall he's been kept in check pretty well.

This is my gut feeling too. (same as I had prior to the Steelers game) Hopefully I won't be disappointed. :(

Even if we win, I doubt we turn the season around. We would probably play well against the Titans and suck again the following week. That would be sooo like this season. :)

I doubt the Bronco offense will do well against KC. No Walker, Nalen, and KC's front 7 is really good and can get consistant pressure on Cutler.
And no your secondary is not better than our receivers, especially with no Lynch. Bailey can stop Kennison all day, but Bly is very suspect and Bowe is a good WR, plus you have a horrid LB corps which can't stop our best receiver, Tony Gonzalez.

Easy solution.....Bailey on Gonzo. Bly on Kennison or Bowe. Foxworth and a safety bracketing the other WR. Keep the other safety close to the line on obvious running plays, and call it a day.

Okay so let me get this straight.
You have like 7 starters on your team from a year ago, correct?

You are 2-11 at Arrowhead (and that # includes some Elway QB'd games), correct?

We have been beat at Arrowhead but not by much and no one since the mid-80's have stomped the chit out of at Arrowhead. We still have the best homefield advantage in the last 10 years.

Culters going to be throwing on one leg.

You guys are thinking that this is the defense from 2003. These guys can actually play defense this year.

Despite all that you are still going to whip our butts huh?

OH we have major issues too. Oline, QB and RB to name just a few.:ouwknow:

It will be just like the vast majority of the Bonco's vs. Chiefs games. Hard fought and the home team will win in a close one.

I've seen every Chiefs game this year, and you're right...particularly on the D-line. Our offensive line HAS to protect Cutler or Ramsey (whoever will be playing) because the Chiefs love to blitz...and they are pretty good at it. Bernard Pollard at safety is a definite upgrade over Greg Wesley. Shanahan will have to break out the trick plays. He can't play the KC defense straight up.

What can one say? It was Phil Luckett's officiating crew. They couldn't even get a coin toss right or differentiate between Vinny Testaverde's white helmet and a football, so....

We're horrible @ Arrowhead.... We're horrible this year, BUT I think the Broncos are due for a win, and have every reason to believe that they will win this week.

It's just kind of weird the way trends go.

1.You BARELY beat the Steelers. You might think that, if you only look at the final score. Anybody who watched that game can tell you we dominated the Steelers and it wasn't until Bly got hurt (again) and a costly turnover and blown non-call did our defense start to wear down and allow some plays to let Pittsburgh back into the game.

You aren't playing at home this time. You are playing at an elite stadium Dude, I've been to Arrowhead, it's a dump.

with elite fans. I really got a laugh out of this one. Your fans might be loud but they are not elite. Hell they have been known to be loud at crucial times when the Chiefs have the ball, plus I lost all respect for the Chiefs fanbase as a whole after the Neil Smith episode.
