Apparently we have wine and cheese neighborhoods back there now, huh?

ADAMS COUNTY – A 69-year old woman is facing charges for celebrating too loudly when her beloved Denver Broncos score on Sundays.

Jeri Priest honks a contraption she calls "The Broncos Horn" after each Denver score. Priest, along with her husband Larry and their neighbors let off one hearty honk for each point scored.

The horn is an odd-looking device Larry Priest built 30 years ago. It's a two-wheel dolly carrying six car horns all hooked to a car battery. A relay switch allows Jeri Priest to sound the horn from the comfort of her home.

It's the comfort of one neighbor that's in question.

The neighbor, who asked 9NEWS to remain anonymous, has called the Adams County Sheriff's Department numerous times to complain about the noise. On October 21, as the Broncos battled the Steelers, deputies filed an arrest report accusing Priest of disorderly conduct.

"I just have fun!" Priest says. "I don't want to go to jail! I'm almost 70 years old."

Priest has been a diehard Broncos fan for decades. Ask her to prove it and she'll show you the spare bedroom in her house on West 63rd Avenue that's filled floor to ceiling with Broncos memorabilia.

Larry Priest, designer of the controversial horn, doesn't mince words about the neighbor who ended their 30-year-old tradition of celebration. Larry uses a portable oxygen device to assist his breathing, but he still invited his complaining neighbor to settle their differences in the middle of the street. He admits he might have gotten carried away.

The Priests enjoy a good deal of support from other neighbors.

"It's not that big of a deal! It's only during the game!" said Jennifer Gower, who lives next door.

The neighbor with the complaint lives across the street in a gated community. But even some neighbors on the other side of the fence aren't on the other side of the fence.

"We love it!" Jane Kuhn told us as she peered over the privacy fence. "If I'm out in the yard working and can't be watching the game and I hear the horn, then I know they scored."

Police say it only takes one complaint to prompt a disorderly conduct charge. Priest will appear in Adams County Court later this month.

Her husband thinks she should hire an attorney but she says she'll handle this herself.

"Can you see them puttin' me in jail? "she laughed. "I mean, my God! "

The neighbor who is opposed to the horn told 9NEWS that if Priest agrees to hide it in her backyard and point it toward a different street, he will talk with police about dropping the charges against her.

In case you're wondering, when the Broncos scored their lone touchdown this weekend, the horn sounded. Jeri Priest didn't push the button, but she sure smiled when someone else did.

I guess it's just a matter of time until the come after my ass. I sound off my horn when we score during away games. It's not as elaborate as hers, but it'll get the neighborhoods attention.

What a crock of sheeet!

She should shift to blowing it off every time the OLINE acutally gives the QB (who ever that is) time to complete a pass and live to play another down.

That or every time Bandwagon BM falls off the wagon or drops a pass.

If you people living in Denver have any nads, you'd find out where this building is... set up camp outside in full Broncos gear, radios in hand... and go bananas when we score. Cowbells, horns, conga drums, the works.

That building should be SHAKING from here out.

I think we should all go celebrate at their house next weekend. I have a really nice cow bell we could add to the fun. LOL

I bet she wasn't arrested last Sunday unless she was just blowing it because she was pissed off
