I never like losing but as a fan of the Colts I actually walked away from that game feeling pretty good. Going in I thought the Pats were slightly better however after seeing the game was virtually a toss up and the Colts played without Harrison, without Ugoh at LT and lost Gonzalez during the game it tells if healthy that the Colts actually might be slightly better. It definitely showed me the Colts defense isn't a fluke anymore. To slow the Pats down like that proves they actually have a pretty darn good defense for a change.

I think the refs gave a lot of calls to the colts, the play were reggie wayne tackled the corner who was going for the pick and somehow it was defensive PI, im pretty sure that was bogus, also i saw a no call on dallas clark in the endzone where he tackled the DB who was going for the pick, the pats had to dig deep to hold them to field goals when the refs gave the colts 50 yard penalties. Without those, pats have more momentum and win big, pats win rematch only if refs call it fair

Peoples Champ
11-05-2007, 11:35 AM
also moss's "push off" call, there was definately no pushoff and if anything defensive PI, but the league loves the colts so there is another bad call, it didnt affect the game as big as the other one, just an example of how poorly the game is called, and how it was in Indy's favor

Its pretty bad that the Pats set a franchise record for penalty yards agains with 146, the Colts meanwhile only had 24 yards against, and the Pats still won.

They played their worst fundamental game of the season and still beat the #2 team in the league in their house. If you don't like the Pats you might want to stop tuning in on Sundays because they're a machine.

Circle Orange

Colts are still the better team because they can run the ball and can win more variety of ways. The Pats have to blow people out and have no running game, which will catch up to them in bad weather.

Brady is tiresome to watch in press conferences, trying to find things to complain about when for the most part everything in his career has gone his way.

Score should have been 35-10 early but the Colts wasted opportunitys (maybe their own arrogance cost them) like they had all day to do what they wanted. They allowed the Pats to hang around and it became a needless dogfight. Should never have happened, the Colts should be kicking themselves for that crap.

Still, all the nuzzling and slobbering about this game was tiresome and boring. The sports media doesn't get that everyone doesn't wrap around these two teams or care about how 'great' they're supposed to be. When Sterling Sharpe went on the NFL network earlier this week, he started by saying "We're going to hype this game and you know we are."

I said, "thanks for the warning" and changed the channel.

They didnt run the ball because that was indy's strenght, run d, especially with bob sanders in there, when thats their strength, then you exploit their weakness, aka , pass D, thats where Brady torched them for three passing TDs, which is a bad day because he has set the bar so high, also they havent been running the ball because marony , who is a great runner, has been out, they have been using faulk as a receiver, which is his strength, the pats are good at playing strengths and weaknesses, especially exploiting other teams weaknesses

those interference calls were legit, bellicheat had his DB's running themselves into the paths of receivers THEN looking back and trying to play innocent. though I"m sure the pats fans are looking for any reason to portray themselves as the victims seeing as they are now the cheaters.

I would agree with you, reggie wayne tackled hobbs when he went for the overthrown ball and the interception, should have been blatent offensive PI, but of course that on the pats, thats 50 yards and pats stiffened up to only hold them to three, i predict that the league will come out and say three months later that that was a mistake, just like the mistake they admitted last year in the AFC championship with the PI against the pats, also randy mosses "push off" , no way, if that wasnt a mutual contact then it should have been defensive PI, you see my pattern here and there were more calls just like these, i just dont feel like typing them

the pats caused those by playing the man, cutting them off then slowing down. thats why reggie wayne tackled hobbs and the ball was "overthrown."

to be fair to randy moss I didnt see much pushoff, tho he's gotten away w/ a lot of pushing off lately so I dont see how the pats can be victims there either.

What about the non call on Faulk over the middle? What about the unsportsmanlike call on the out of bounds play when both players' arms were engaged.

The defender has a right to his space! If the D creates contact while obtaining his space, then there is a penalty. If D simply covers his man and (OMG) cuts into the recievers route, without causing contact, then makes a play on the ball, its simply one hell of a play by the D. Instead, Pats get punished for making a great play. Happens everyday.

And dumbasses like you should stop watching the NFL. You just took a bad call by the ref and turned it into BB cheating again by having his DB's play good D. WTF ??? Go get your fix for drama and hate by watching the WWF instead of the NFL! :strong:

What game were you watching? Saying the Colts should've been up 35-10?
I could argue that except for the inability to tackle on the TD before half that the Colts got all their points via help from the refs....and lots of people would agree with me!

Don't get me wrong...my dog wasn't in that fight. But I can't stand when people just look at the final score as an indicator of the flow of the game. You get in position to score, get points anyway you can. Turning over the ball late hurt Indy also, I know the announcers were making a big deal out of Manning having a 'rare turnover at home' as if its not in his dna or something.

BTW, late reports now say the Pats are howling about interfering signals during the game and piped in noise from the RCA dome. Cripes, I'm so tired of both these teams.

yavoon, even Colts fans feel the 2nd PI was totally bogus and that they'd be pissed if it was called on them.

What about the non call on Faulk over the middle? What about the unsportsmanlike call on the out of bounds play when both players' arms were engaged.

Damn near every call went the Colts way. People all over the country noticed it, were horrified by it, and are talking about it today. Not a lot of gray area on this one.

"even colts fans" well colts fans that know the rules wouldn't be. you CAN'T play the man. you can't not look back for the ball and cut him off. now certainly bellicheat taught his players that w/ the idea of getting away w/ it, it just happened to not work this time.

:strong:

IT WASN'T HIS SPACE. this is not ambiguous, YOU CAN'T, I repeat, CAN'T cut receivers off if ur not playing the ball. they weren't playing th ball, itsa penalty.

only makes sense for em to lose against the phins.

The only loss for the '85 Bears came against a bad Dolphins team. They will be incredibly pumped to beat the Pats if the Pats are still undefeated.

In my opinion they were playing the ball, i guess we just agree to disagree, the refs are taking the physicality out of the game, pretty soon they will be dishing out penalties for "hitting to hard" , old timers look at todays game and think its patty cakes, especially when you got primadonnas like wayne and harrison, there are few people who catch the ball and fight for every inch they get, brandon marshall and hines ward are two that come to mind, wayne and harrison catch and go out of bounds, people say thats just playing smart, injuries are a part of the game, you can get hurt walking down your stairs, does that mean you dont walk down them?

I would give you that it was definitely coached by bellicheat to play close. but as I saw the play the cutoff came before they looked back for the ball. they took their cues of when to cutoff the player from the receiver.

and yes ppl have much more injury avoidance in both the WR and the QB positions. brady and manning both fall like sacks of potato's if they think the jig is up.

I would also add LT does a lot of contact avoidance, including submarining.

this is for that guy who said the pats cant run the ball and indys run game is much better, and if the game is at new england then indy has the advantage because of the cold and snow, check out the box score, indy barely out rushed the pats
