cutler couldn't have done nething about his left guard smacking the ball out of his hands.
Let's not be stupid. There was about 12 or 13 plays on offense that could be pointed to... about 65 on defensive side as we went back to the same system format that we don't have the personnel for.
Definitely a tough loss. I have to say, its been a long time since i've been this mad.
Where is the leadership on this team?
Mathmatically we are still in it but this team isn't doing anything this season.

Face it, its the defense and that stupid third down and goal call from inside the ten yard. WHAT WAS CRAP CALL?

Truly sad.
Stupid penalties, inability to finish drives, lack of pressure from the front four, Cutler's turnover. 15 K + Packer fans, a subdued Bronco crowd for the majority of the game.
But overall, this team has no emotions or killer instinct on either side of the ball, which to me is the worse part of this season.

I dont like the amt of rollouts we run. I wish we'd test cutler more from the pocket, make him run progressions and deliver the ball accurately.

Two words: Cutler fumble.
That was on Kuper. I feel sorry for him but that mistake hurt pretty bad, no doubt.
Cutler also missed Marshall on that square out. He makes that and the game is over. The thing is Cutler has struggled throwing that route since I've seen him in camp and while he's made progress, it's obviously still a weakness. It just sucks because we could have won it but two garbage plays did us in.
Oh, and Nick Ferguson and Ian Gold showed again that they aren't worth a thing. When Ian Gold can't wrap up receivers that leaves kickers and punters and the only thing Ian Gold can tackle.
Tough, tough loss. This one gurts. Tough week for Denver. I had a bad feeling that the mojo of the universe really wanted to take a crap on our city this week. Thank goodness for the Avs.

We need a bit of help on defense, its that simple. We had a really young offense out there tonight, and they drove the ball against a good defense. The defense did well in the second half (although I think GB shot themselves in the foot a few times) and two bad plays by good cornerbacks against a pretty good quarterback (perfect throws on each play). I am impressed with the way they played for the most part, but a few things that need to be fixed. It might not happen this year.
Although we are on the road a lot, we have an easier schedule coming up. the last 4 games have been against really good teams (Jacksonville we played at their peak). A win would have been great, but it wasn't enough for me to lose optimism.
That dicey holding call on Marshall during Young's long run hurt too...

oh come one r u really blaming this game on the last drive..ya it was dissapointing I was expecting a TD like everyone else, but it didnt come cuz their was osme poor play calling in the red zone. But like people said that fumble which Kuper caused and that ghost holding call on Marshall just sucked. Our defense didnt allow alot of points but was realllllllllllly unimpressed and disgusted for the most part...Cutler keeps improving though..hes the real deal..this game wasnt his fault at all..without him I personally dont think the Broncos would have scored a point..Whatever this isnt our year anyway..its a tough loss I know and I hate losing but the most important player to a team looks really good for us in the near future

Haven't been this bitter over a loss in some time. Bly is so soft / petty. He gets burned a couple times for first downs in front of him playing off and then does not know a happy medium. He plays up and the guy he runs his mouth on pregame burns him deep. So f'ing selfish.

I don't know, it is a tough, tough loss, however Cutler looks better and better each week, BMarsh is a legitimate 1st receiver, Selvin Young is a solid HB, we have a promising team here, it will be a matter of time for the good guys to come back from their injuries, I think this team will close the season firing in all cylinders; oh yeah, we need a D.

There was 12 men on the field for the elam kick. That shoulda been an automatic 1st down.
Also, Cutler shoulda changed the play on that draw play. I seen that call coming and GB was playing man to man and stacked the line.

This team is decimated on so many levels. Years of bad drafts. Injuries. Tragedy. Loss of leadership. New coaches who keep trying to shove through a scheme that they don't have the people to play. Players who play without hope of victory. Second guessing. No team cohesion. Is there anybody left on this team who listens to Shanahan? I doubt it. This team has no identity. No personality.
How about spreading the wealth on the blame. Do not forget, Our offense only managed to put up 13 points. We are averaging under 16 points a game now???
Daniel Graham can not catch a cold. Play calling is suspect. Way too many penalties, Our covers CAN be worked and beat and our entire _efence can make a superstar our of any journeyman/3rd string RB in the NFL.
The only bright spot on this team this season is Jason Elam.

F-uck that, J-Cut had at least 3 OF false starts and 4 pass interference calls against him, along with a bunch of bad play call decisions in the 4th quarter alone.. It was unfortunate Cutler had the ball knocked out of his hands. The team is simply not good enough to control the line of scrimmage in the red zone. We are getting good effort from the OL but we can't sustain it. Our defensive lack of pressure for most of the game put tremendous pressure on the secondary. I think the lack of pressure sealed our fate with Favre and GB.
We are a .500 team because we are inconsistent. Very suspect on 3rd down defensively. Don't understand the QB draw with little time on the clock at the 4 yd line. We have a couple big bodies we could make a throw into the endzone to.

"Good game everyone, hit the showers...except you Gold, you're cut."
-Homer Simpson
Redzone offense continues to leave points on the field.
Jay-C can be hot and cold. Just missed B-Marsh on comeback in the corner.
Kuper caused that fumble, not to mention got plowed over near the goal line...
Nothing special in the backfield for Denver. But when Young broke one, a mysterious flag.
Defense played well enough to win, banged up secondary, lack luster pass rush.
DJ hurting, Gold is enigma at times out there. Webster is a cheerleader playing linebacker.
I was livid when he pulled off his helmet after making a tackle. That should have been a flag, but the ref let it go, looked like he got warned.
Bottom line is Denver can't run inside the redzone and as much has they try to, running left isn't working at all. Kuper and Lepsis get no push on that side.
With Henry facing the year banned, things will only get tougher in teh running game
P.S.
Anyone notice Kaylore switched his adopt a Bronco from Kuper to Moss?

I guess I should be upset but I'm not. I'm actually encouraged by the game. Our defense played pretty well actually. Two perfect throws by Farve were the difference. Our qb is going to be sick. I'm going to blame Bates and Dinger and Shanny. Bates for refusing to put pressure on Favre, Dinger for crappy Red Zone play calling, and Shanny for enabling both. Among the things that burned me were: Moss inactive for Rice? We find a semi-productive defense scheme last week and Bates/Shanny abandon it? We have Sheff, Graham, Stokely, and Cecil, and Dinger can't find a way to use them in the Red Zone? Arrrrrgh!

how can you not question the play calling. With 2:30 left we run for 0 yards burn 30 seconds off the clock. Then four little dump passes forcing us to call time out. Thankfully Marshall broke like 5 takles to make a big gain out of the next 6 yard pass. 1st and 10 from the 13 and we run (what the **** is that) and burn the last TO. 3rd and 1 a design qb sneak praying for a first down and if we don't make it go for the tie. That is pussy football. Shanny is turning into a bend but not break coach, like Wade Phillips was for us, one who plays not to loose.

I'll bet he's led scoring drives with 5:00 or less left to play in at least 6 of his 12 NFL starts. Most also included converting a 4th down or two like tonight, Buffalo, Pitt, et al. And I firmly believe he wouldda led a scoring drive against Jacksonville had Graham held onto that crazy 4th down 16 yard pass.
More Silver Lining: They flashed up a graphic tonight that on 3rd Down Passes, Jay Cutler has the best completion pct (77%) and the best QB rating of any QB in football!! That is STONES!
How many fourth quarter game winning/saving drives does he have now? The guy is super-clutch. It's incredible. In fact I'm starting to get confident when we need to move the ball in the fourth quarter. The best Elway where other teams were downright frightened when he had the ball in the last two minutes. It was like voodoo. Jay isn't there yet, but the way he moves the ball on these guys - especially in the fourth - you have to think teams are going to start fearing him.:notworthy
getting a td on that last drive would have bumped up his progression about 6 monthes ahead of schedule especially in a dual against Favre.

Even More Silver Lining: Selvin Young is a juke-machine, tackle-avoiding rock star waiting to happen. That "holding" call against Brandon Marshall on Selvin's 50-yard run was pure BS (and might've cost us the ballgame). But that run - plus the last-second wild-man 4-tackle-dodging run down to the 2-yard line - tell me he has the goods. I dunno if he's a "one-cut and downhill" type back, but who cares? Guy is a play-maker. Let's hope his ankle is strong.

Its just stinks so much when the announcers call out your RUN D ever 5 mins making jokes about them it just stinks.....
Collectively our defense is reaching out to the 94' Broncos defense as one of the worst units i've seen in the NFL. We are just bad.

Two words: Cutler fumble.
Actually, the left guard slapped it out of his hands. Hardly on Cutler there.

Selvin has some talent but there were a few running plays he should have taken what was there by cutting it up inside instead of juking.

Tough, tough loss.
We had this game won twice but we fumble and then somehow shoot ourselves in the a$$ and settle for that FG instead of kicking the packers out of Mile High.
We've got a young team and just need these guys to grow up and mature. Lot's of positives from this loss but man if we execute better it's not even close and we finish with 24 points instead of just 13.
Now excuse me while I go puke.

True, but he is young. I still get more excited watching him play than Henry.

I know this season is up in the air but cutler is the next up in coming QB that last drive fealt like number 7 was back there.
no kidding ....... Jay has brought back a certain confidence , I was watching last night we got the ball at 2:27 left , I really felt the Broncos could have won , with every QB denver has had since elway , I havent felt that way when we was behind in the 4 th quarter .........

The entire defense seemed clueless most of the game, two times in a row they only had 10 men on the field then 12 men and got the flag, players were struggling to get on and off the field, they simply didn't know if they were supposed to be in or not. burning all our TO's so we didn't have one to help win the game, punting while a HOF kicker is on the sideline and our team is down with 8 minutes left, I know the book says if the defense is holding go ahead and punt in that situation but our defense never holds it bends and bends then SNAP 82 f#^king yards later 25k cheese heads are stomping out of our "home" stadium with smiles on their faces.

I totally agreee, that holding call was BS. that hurt every bit as much as the Cutler fumble. Seriously, I didn't see jack, what the hell was he calling?

Yeah...maybe it's on Kuper...but after that things started to slide for the entire team...

Sorry Sassy, has you stated in a previous post, you didn't see the game.
No maybe's on it being Kuper's fall. It was his fault.
Also while the fumble did take the wind out of the sails. The defense held for 3 points (after a long 80+ yard drive).
The Bronocs move the ball from 20 to 20, but the redzone and goal line play cost this team a victory.

I thought the game was lost on the last regulation GB drive where our D allowed 3 Packer first downs. chewed up the clock and gave zero time to execute at the goal line.

The hole closes fast and if you have any penetration, you're looking at a tackle in the backfield.
Linemen have to swing their arm, open up their hips, pivot and run while maintaining leverage running down the LOS for the first opposite colored jersey.
Jay Cutler pulled the ball out and needed to step back from the center's butt, handing it to the HB... he kind of lingered, even a .25 second too long and the lineman pulling across hit him in the hand.
This is the QB's bust. He needs to get his ass out of route of the lineman.
Sometimes you need to see it once in the game. I doubt Cutler will ever make this mistake again. Hopefully.

Good breakdown of what happened. In slow motion it looked like Chris slapped the ball out of Cutler's hand in actuality Chris didn't even realize that he had any contact with Jay. By knowing the play that was actually called it makes even more sense that Jay lingered because it was a "read" type play and when you are on the 1 yard line the read has to be made much quicker than one that is at the 5 yard line. I'm not blaming Jay because they are asking a lot of a 2nd year starter. In fact If it were me I would give him something that is a lot simpler and a poor result less impact on the game. But then a fumble is a fumble

Ya Jay lingered... Jay calls hike, looks to towards his left, just starts to take a step back, still looking left (for the option to WR) and had the ball hit his hand... only to have KUPER knock it out...
Oh Ya Kupe's dad... theres an unbais take.:welcome:
