This is the big matchup I've been waiting for in the Pac 10. Tough battle so far. Ducks lead 7 zip.

Trojans get a FG. Ducks shut them down inside the RZ. Good D on them. They're flying around.

Ducks make a big mistake. Went for it on 4th and 1 on the 12 and didn't get it. Should have taken the easy FG.

SC finally realized they've got to rush more than the front four to pressure Dixon. Held them to a FG. At the half it's 10/3 Ducks.

Oregon 24 USC 17 FINAL
Hahahah...enjoy your Holiday Bowl, bandwagoners! No National Title Game, Not even a Pac 10 title for the Trojans this year. Most Excellent. I will enjoy seeing the suffering of many fans in the area down here.

Oregon is a much stronger team. SC is just not the same with Sanchez at QB. I doubt it would have mattered if Booty was in there. Ducks are just better. Congrats to STG. Now Cal faces ASU. Another great match up in the West.

Not only does USC lose ...
but Colorado finishes 3-0 vs. the Big XII South this year, and beleagered Nebraska now leads Texas by 2 touchdowns in the 3rd quarter in Austin. Missouri and Kansas are highly ranked too ...
The Big XII North has risen again!

That was just a great game! We should definitely have taken the FG on 4th and 1, but the energy at that point in the game was just begging us to go for it! In retrospect, not so smart!
I was watching Dixon closely today and I was fascinated at how he would run the offense with no huddle and once he'd see the line up on D he'd switch up the plays. Today didn't help him much in any bid for a Heisman, but it was fun to watch him!
Ahhhhh, I can't talk...lost my voice! Another great match up next week with ASU coming to town. Will be interesting to see how they match up against Cal tonight!

Dixon is a twig, and a terrible passer.
He is a decent Pat White wannabe, but he will translate to the NFL just like Troy Smith did.

That "twig" is now in Heisman contention ...

Yup, he's a twig. But, everyone said he'd fold and bust this year, and although he's made mistakes, I haven't seen that yet!! So, we'll see. I think he's got some talent that can definitely be developed!!

I thought I heard you screaming on the tube, stg!!!!!!!!!!
That was a great game ... I screamed myself at the last INT. It just goes to show you, a team can recruit only the cream, all 4 and 5-star players like USC. But if your QB makes bad decisions, there's nothing you can do. And like Roh inferred, neither Booty nor Sanchez is a Palmer or Leinart. They were both Top-50 high schoolers nationally, but that winning split-second decision making ability can't be ranked until they get into a major college game. Look at Jimmy Claussen - he is the highest ranked high school QB ever, but he's a joke on the field so far.
In a way, USC was straight up lucky to string Palmer and Leinart back-to-back.
CHEERS! A toast to another USC loss!

No, I didn't. but, I'll go and take a look.
Funny you talk about QB decision making abilities. I watched an interview with Dixon the other day (yes, I admit, I'm a homer...so dong't give me anymore **** about it,,,k?!) Anyway, he was talking about last season and his time this summer with the Braves and how he learned the everyone makes mistakes and you just shake it off and move on. Last year he couldn't do that...this year, he's learned how to.
What I love about this offense is that it is built around Dixon's best qualities. The run....he can fake it and run it well! He can take a good hit and he can run. He's long and lanky...but, it works well for him. Just my opinion, though.
I was impressed with Stewart today, though. He had some good runs where they tried hard to shut him down but there was no stopping him.
Ohhhhhhhhh, and the biggest thing I learned today.....
You now who the duck on the bike is??? Zimmmmmmmmmm!!!
