View Full Version : Former Broncos LB Al Wilson has ruled out a return to football this year.
Wilson, 30, is still hoping to get a chance as a free agent next spring. He'll need to be medically cleared and pass a physical after suffering career-threatening neck and back injuries. Wilson was released last April.

After watching Lynch come back and do well how could you not take a chance on Al - look for him to be in Baltimore or Oakland next year.

Hope he and Mobley just hang out and pick up tennis or something and have long, fulfilling, healthy lives.

If it's not w/Denver, I sincerely HOPE it's not in the AFC West, Bungles or Cowboys. I think he could return here though. I know they said he was done here, but I'm sure Shannahan can make an exception.

He IS done, Al Wilson hasn't been cleared to even take a physical. It's pretty serious injury and the Broncos don't want him to be another Everett of the Bills. It was a sucky feeling when he got carted off last year.
My favorite quote :
"The Raiders were questioned for poor drafting when they cut third-round pick Quentin Moses and fifth-rounder Eric Frampton before the season. Both players were picked up by other teams, but both have been cut again. This shows that other teams agree that Moses (who signed with Miami on Wednesday) and Frampton aren't NFL-worthy."

He, Mobely, and Griffith could take up scrabble.
IF is is healthy (as it was with John Lynch), I would love to see smoke dog back in orange and blue (perhaps at strongside?)
If not that as Denver coach (we need his heart).
If not that on another team.
And if not that in the booth.
If he really hangs it up, his name needs to go on the Ring of Fame. Stat.

Its got to be hard having something end so quickly without any sign or means to prepare yourself for. I hope he doesn't hurt himself worse reacting to whats in his heart and ignoring whats logical or best for him.

It was a surprise to many that Atlanta abruptly cut starting defensive tackle Grady Jackson this week. There were some issues between the player and the team, but Jackson likely will get some interest. He would fit the Broncos' system at tackle as a big run plugger. He played for defensive boss Jim Bates in Green Bay and defensive line coach Bill Johnson last year in Atlanta, but the Broncos have not shown any interest because of the development of their young players.
