A buddy of mine and I are flying out (from Florida) on Sunday for the Monday Night game. We are staying at the Red Lion next to Invesco. Can anyone on this board help a fellow Bronco fan out and recommend some sports bars to me?

We get in a couple hours before first pitch of Game 4. I am sure LoDo will be nuts, so any help is appreciated!

Go Broncos!!

I had a good time at their bar when my wife and I stayed there for the MNF opener against the Giants. I would've had a tough time making it back to our room if we weren't actually staying in the hotel. I feel bad for the fools who tried to make it back downtown afterwards.

Jacskon's sports bar, right across from Coors field. You might see me there on Saturday to watch the Rockies.

In Short
Big-screen TVs, smaller-screen TVs and all tubes in between dot this two-tiered bar, along with Broncos fans hoping for a glimpse of the game. To escape the sports action, head upstairs, where the crowd is young and the music loud. Friday and Saturday nights, bounce to hip-hop, techno or live music. The crowd is mostly 20-something LoDo wanderers. Jackson's offers a dizzying array of burgers, sandwiches and wraps certain to appeal to everyone, even vegetarians.

Or you can go to the Sports Column.

I bet they did, i was half drunk the night before the Oakland game, i barely woke up in time for the tailgate.

But it was worth it

Thanks for the tips on the Red Lion's bar, as well as Jackson's and the Sports Column. I actually have heard that the Sports Column is one of the better bars in Denver.

Please keep the recommendations coming! Very much appreciated.

Remember we have a nice public transportation no matter where you go...unless it's north of the city

Nice thing about Jacksons is you can crawl from your stool at the bar to your chair in Coors field.

You could always catch a ride with Brandon Marshall.

I actually stayed downtown this past weekend at the Hyatt Regency and walked to Rock Bottom and ESPN zone. They were both great bars and had a great time being downtown

The Red Lion has a shuttle that will take you downtown! But be sure and check their bar out...Great view of the city and Invesco! I like that bar too!
The shuttle runs until 11...but a cab is only about $7 from downtown back to the hotel.

What was that place we hit after the Rockies game? Can't remember the name of it, but it was cool.....cool people in there as well.

That is because we started at the Sports Bar at the top of the Red Lion then went to the Sports Column to finish the night off. If you are looking for action, you got to go lower downtown (LoDo). Sports Column has two drinking establishments on each side, bar across from them and a few nightclubs on the street behind the sports column (old jazz club too). Jacksons hole is a good place and not sure how the night club scene is there anymore as I havent partied there in at least 6 years. Keep up in the tailgate section for tailgatting and even Sunday night partying. LoDo will be way expensive for parking so either arrive early, park far from the bars (or get lucky and get a spot on the street) or taxi cab it. Broncos/Rockies fans, Packers fans, and Red Sox fans will make this a weekend to remember.

Since we are staying at The Lion (right next to the stadium) we aren't renting a car, so parking won't be an issue. We aren't into the club scene, so that's not too important to us either.

Our goal is to find a super cool sports bar with awesome food, cold beer and fun people to be around. The atmosphere is going to be amazing in Denver (Broncos-Packers, World Series)...I am so fired up!!

The last Broncos game I was at was the playoff game versus the Pats, so I am psyched to come back.

Thanks to everyone who threw out the recommendations. I will keep my eyes peeled on Monday for the Orange Mane tailgaters.

Go Broncos!!

Yep...they'll give you a card and it lists their pickup spots on the back. Just call when your ready...don't forget your cell! Ha! Then we just usually give the driver a small tip.

Thats neat that they have a shuttle, most bars could care less what happens.

But you have to be responsible for your own actions *cough* Marshall *cough*

The card is a great idea to keep your customers safe. We'll definitely hook the driver up. Thanks again!
