" Regular left cornerback Shawn Springs did not start Sunday's contest after missing the entire week's practice to due a personal matter. The 11th-year pro had been in Dallas visiting his ailing father, former NFL running back Ron Springs, who lapsed into a coma after falling into cardiac arrest during a recent surgical procedure to remove a cyst from his arm."

I just saw the story on HBO's Real Sports. Truly touching story. Say a prayer for Shawn Springs and his dad, a former Cowboy fullback who got a kidney from his former teammate, Everson Walls. Springs is still in a coma.


Amazing the story hasn't gotten the play it SHOULD DESERVE.

As bad as human beings can be, we sometimes forget how good we can be.
Acts like this should be championed.
