An appreciation thread for Dre.

He came to the team with the reputation of being a "soft" player. Good in converage but likes to gamble. A playmaker.

Well, he's still a playmaker. But he is certainly not "soft". It looked like he nuked his shoulder on his INT. But rather than come out of the game or playing soft from that point forward he just plain BROUGHT IT! If any of you Tivo'd the game, watch the jump ball in the endzone. He almost came down with the pick but that's not what was impressive. If you go back and watch that play his coverage was good and he was running with one arm basically. In fact the only time he lifted his second arm was to go up for the pick. Other than that he held it steady against his body and pumped with his other good arm.

Say what you'd like about anybody else on this defense but Dre Bly has been a hell of a signing/trade for us. The past couple weeks he's really mixed it up against the run too. He plays with passion and is the cheerleader on the field telling the fans to get involved. He was no different at training camp either.

Congrats Dre. Great game and a gutsy performance to boot. Glad to have you as a Bronco!!!

A huge night for the defense. We needed leaders in a huge way, and it looks like we found several last night. Dre was huge!

I completely agree. I think he was the heart of the D last night. Playing through enormous pain and yet trying to keep the crowd involved the whole time. I enjoyed watching him and am a fan.

Way to go Bly!

I thought the same thing. I knew he had a bad rap in Detroit, from Marinelli, over not playing well in his system (the Tampa 2).

But last night Dre showed his heart. His shoulder was hurt, I mean bad, basically he played the remainder of teh game with one arm!

I'd imagine he will be in a brace (ala Champ) for the remainder of the season.

Way to go Dre!

To say Bly stepped up is understating his performance. He was a freakin, well, a warrior like others have said. I hope his injury is not serious.

I can't wait to rewatch the game tonight.

I loved the part where it showed him trying to pump up the crowd before his near interception. Poor dude couldn't even get his arm up to cheer us up, but when it came down to it he got his arm up for that near int. What a gusty performance I hope the other players can pick up on such an effort.

Yeah he was great, now I can't wait until we get Champ back to see them work together again.
