Sadly couldn't watch the game due to the time-difference so wondered if the gamebook tells the true story or not: who really won it for us this weekend? It looks like there are 4 candidates:
Jason Elam: Money in the clutch again
Jay Cutler : Money in the Clutch again
Elvis Dumervil: 2 sacks, 1 FF leading to a touchdown
DJ Williams: 7 tackles, 1 int and 2 passes deflected
Or do you guys who got to see it have other suggestions?
Dooooomervil or Cutler. Without those two Jason doesn't get to be Mr. Clutch.
I went with Doomer.....Good to see him reeking havok again vs a good line.

Cutler.
DJ and Doom were both amazing also!

Cutler barely edges out Doom. The fact that we actually have a pass rush is still shocking me.

against a very physical Steeler's line no less! This game was won in the trenches
I can't vote for Cutler and Doom both so therefore I do not vote. :)
Nice to see two youngins playing so well.
I also agree with the team thought. Every quarter in this game had a different hero. In quarter 1 it was Dre Bly, in quarter 2 it was Elvis and Crowder.
Cutler played amazing all game.

Dre Bly should be an option on the poll. He played like a throwback tonight with a separated shoulder. I will never doubt him again. He's earned his stripes.

THe O Line.

Cutler had a decent game but threw two stupid INT's
Williams played well, but about at the level I thought he should have been since week one.
Doom made some great plays but the whole D-Line weakened in the second half.
I'm going with Elam.

THe O Line.
They were a lot better than I thought they would be.

Dumervil. I laugh at the people who claim he should not be starting. Poor run defense? Are you kidding me?

I thought the entire team were warriors tonight...heart and soul...never gave in!

Doom is all heart. I had to vote for him but Bly and our young, inexperienced O-line really impressed tonight.

Really interesting game, I'm not sure you can find one player to give the win to.
For example, Brandon Marshall made a HUGE hussle play in the 3rd quarter... running from 20 yards out and recovering Cutlers fumble to keep that pivotal 3rd quarter drive going. That one play may have been the most important in the whole game.

Dumervil gave us a TD and made plays all night.

Who finally got the ball thrown his way more than three times. This guy never gets enough credit!

Brandon Marshall! His Fumble recovery, coming from nowhere to bail Cutler saved the game.

Chris Myers. He played above my expectations and had some big shoes to fill.

It's nice to have several difficult options here, isn't it?
I like the following:
1. The O-line. 4 new starters this year, 2 new guys starting in new positions for this game (Myers and Kuper were great).
2. Dre Bly. Man that was heart, that was inspiring. He almost had two more picks as well, and he still kept fighting with his injured arm. I hope that sets a new tone for the season.
3. Cutler. This is how we thought he'd be. He makes some stupid "rookie" decisions, but he comes through in the clutch when he has the ball. I'm glad that nothing is coming easy for Jay, I think this year will definitely toughen him up, and solidify his leadership.
4. Dumervil. What a beast. He is getting the respect of all the new kids on the line also. Something really great could be happening with this group. I hope we draft another great D-tackle next year, this group could get a lot better.
5. DJ. Not a perfect game, but a much better statement. He was actually playing more like Al. He was making more tackles head-on instead of chasing everyone. When our d-line performs well, he sure looks better. Did you actually start to see some swagger from our linebackers?
6. Not Nick Ferguson. 1 good sack, but didn't do very well in coverage.
7. How about ST? We didn't fumble, and looked average again. That's a huge thing for us, to be average on ST play.
That's my vote.

Thought Tony Scheffler played well also. Cutler showed off his cannon very well and DJ had one of his better games.

Cutler, he passes were dead on most of the night.
Props to DJ. He had a great game. I have previously been critical of his play...but I think he took a big step in the right direction.
He still had trouble disengaging from blocks..particularly when the Steelers had linemen at the next level. However, when he was allowed to flow to the POA. He was decisive and a difference maker.
Keep it up DJ! Build on this game.

Elam - how can you say it was someone else? Good team effort but after winning the game last seconds for all 3 games give the guy the credit he deserves!

The entire team.
We finally got to see the team that was expected.
Coming off a devastating loss and smoldering during the bye, they came out as a TEAM and played with heart.
Coaches too.
The re-scheming of the defense surprised Pitt....and most everyone else, even though they seemed to wear down in the second, they played well.
The O was cut lose and played an excellent game, great on 3rd downs and red zone. Finally TDs instead of FGs.
Special teams, covered well and didn't allow Pitt any big plays. Sourpuss was good....despite an opening kickoff that gave most of us an uneasy feeling. Elam came through again when it counted most.
All in all, a team effort, played with heart and great hustle.

Although Cutler and the offense has gotten Jason into those positions it really comes down to making the kicks. Elam has been our savior in our 3 wins.
