Some teams come off a bye week firing on all cylinders; others come out sputtering like Pittsburgh did in its Week 7 game at Denver. The Broncos responded from an embarrassing Week 5 performance against San Diego with a convincing 21-0 shutout of the Steelers at Invesco Field at Mile High. The Broncos' ground game set the tone as Travis Henry grinded out 93 yards on 25 carries and a touchdown. However, Denver's air attack, led by quarterback Jay Cutler, looked rusty from the week off. Cutler managed to connect with six different receivers, and hit Brandon Marshall for a pair of touchdowns, but also tossed five interceptions on the day. Marshall finished with nine receptions for 150 yards, taking over the role of the go-to receiver with wide receiver Javon Walker out with an injury.
Fortunately for the Broncos, none of the Cutler's interceptions led to Pittsburgh scores. Pittsburgh's ground game looked much like the Broncos' attack with Willie Parker carrying the ball 25 times for 123 yards. Key fourth-quarter fumbles by Parker and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, however, dashed any hopes of a Steelers come-from-behind victory. The dominating win by the Broncos improved their record to 3-3, while the Steelers fell to 4-2.
