Obviously its all satire...but suppose he really did run. Much like that movie "Man of the Year." Anyone vote for him? Thoughts?
I think it would be entertaining as hell.

I think Colbert is funny, but I don't appreciate what he's doing here. Maybe he's got a point in the long run, but I'm not seeing it.
The stakes for America are too high right now for him to turn the primaries into a side show circus.
Unless, of course, he dilutes the Fred Thompson vote! ;D

Folks old enough will remember that Pat Paulsen was a perennial presidential candidate.
Colbert is just stealing Pat Paulsen's act.
Presidential Campaign Slogan: "I've upped my standards. Now, up yours."
Some of Pat Paulsen's campaign quotes:
"All the problems we face in the United States today can be traced to an unenlightened immigration policy on the part of the American Indian."
"Why should we tell kidnappers, murderers, and embezzlers their rights? If they don't know their rights, they shouldn't be in the business."
"A good many people feel that our present draft laws are unjust. These people are called soldiers."
"Sex doesn't have to be taught. It's something most of us are born with."
"We have nothing to fear but fear itself...and of course the boogieman."
"I am neither left wing nor right wing. I am middle-of-the-bird."
"Marijuana should be licensed and kept out of the hands of teenagers. It's too good for them."
