...many here have allready given up on the season. Reading some of the threads and replies clearly identifies those who are only on board for the winning seasons, and those who just like to jump into the lights of the camera when we do well.

Bottomfeeders IMO.

We play in the weakest AFC West I can ever remember seeing. I wouldn't be giving up on the season just yet...

...but I guess that depends on what you expect from the season. I've always had the simple hope of a playoff birth, even if it's via wildcard. Thus, I'm in it to the last week of the regular season, where the wildcard will likely be decided.

It's not like this team is going anywhere this year. We are terrible. I'll still watch all the games, and cheer as hard as I can, but I'm also rooted in reality. Even playing in a weak weak divsion, if we happen to win it, we won't make it out of 1 playoff game.

Our expectations are always so high that we think the Broncos will win 11 games every year, what I hope to see is improvement from week to week and in the AFC West if you can continue to improve because I believe we have the talent to do so if they can play good ball at the end of the year anything can happen. The last couple weeks of not improving in a couple aspects of the game and almost taking a step back is surely disheartening but I will hope to see improvements coming in the near future.

no one who is here and posting, whether it be be negative or positive, is a bandwagoneer. People who are only fans during winning seasons aren't going to torture themselves with the problem of the team the way people here are. Different fans vent their frustrations differently, the worst doomsayers I'm sure hope for a victory every week. I don't blame people for not wanting to get their hopes up though.

A lot of you enjoy a bad marriage relationship with this team, some of you want to prove 'how long you've been here' and that regardless your faithful loyalty will outweigh anyone else in the end, and then there are the bandwagoners. Trying to cast a label on fans with comparisons of this type are just as obnoxious as the 'bandwagoneer'.

Just go to enjoy the game and watching your favorite team. Many franchises would cash it all in now to have the success we've had in the past.

Vegas......With all due respect. Have you been to Invesco lately? There are plenty of "fans" there that I hope roll with the Rockies next season.

I think 5k or so new Broncos season tix holders next season will be a blessing. It could be more. My point is that many people do not treat the internet like it is reality so people say **** just to get a rise out of others. No need for me to give any examples.

Forget about the omane. Many of the season tix are in the wrong hands. I sent about 12 emails out to people selling Broncos tix for up to twice value and explaining that it's possible to lose your season tix as a result.

I got a lot of **** you replies back from "good broncos fans". Hell I was just trying to be helpful as I've heard the Broncos are after internet scalpers.

These "I'm a better fan than you" posts piss me off. Real fans love their team, and engage in tough love when appropriate. This team has thus far embarrassed itself, its town, and its fans. Am I hopeful that Shanny will somehow sprinkle magic dust and make it all better? Sure I am. But I also don't expect that to happen. What I do expect -- what I hope for -- is that enough true Bronco fans raise enough hell about this franchise's poor preparation, poor effort, poor drafting, and poor personnel decisions, and finally force Bowlen and Shanny to take some steps to fix the mess they've made of the team. Because that's what a fan who loves the Broncos would do, rather than call out other fans.

I can be a fan of the team and still enjoy seeing them gradually grow and improve and winning what games they can ... without getting deluding myself about their prospects this year.

There's a lot of the season left, and maybe they can turn a number of things around, but, objectively speaking, I'm not optimistic about that.

The team has not yet shown an ability to stop anyone's running game. The kick returns and coverage has been very poor. Our offensive line has been depleted with injuries. There is a cloud over the tailback spot. Cutler is still learning.

The schedule doesn't look very favorable. Coming up fast are Pittsburgh and Green Bay who are both playing very well, and we have a lot of road games in the second half of the season, particularly at the end.

I just want to see some improvement at this point, particularly by our younger players.

I became a Raider Fan after hearing my Brother hooting and hollering about the Raiders stomping a team ( Denver ) 51 - 0 or something like that... After that I began watching the team. Contrary to popular belief... The Raiders were on TV all the time. Buffalo, Giants & Jets were after thoughts... Cleveland was on television more often... This area has more Browns fans than Bills fans ( Bills fans own the patent for building and creating the bandwagon )

What made me a fan was the way the Raiders always found a way to win... They could be losing 28 zip and they would win the game... When they lost they would come back the next week and destroy someone....

Well I'm not taking into account obvious trolls who would rather argue or cause drama than anything else. It is just perfectly natural for fans to be insanely frustrated right now. Just because someone is looking towards the draft already doesn't mean they aren't still pulling for the Broncos every weekend. I would argue that something like that is merely searching for a silver lining in what is an otherwise dismal situation. I personally don't like creating a fan hierarchy. I'm not going to go around labeling people as bandwagoneers or true fans. As long as a guy is cheering for Denver on sunday that's all I care.

I'd take it a step further though. I'd say a decent effort to make a game now and again is a good sign someone is dedicated to the team. Now I realize people live thousands of miles away from Denver. I've been there but there is always a road trip within reason every couple years.

I've heard all the excuses to not make the games. Hell I've had extra raider tickets at home games before and couldn't even get 20 ****ing dollars for them and there were more than "20" real fans hanging around my warm bus on a cold day. Sickening, considering we haven't even played 1/3 of our games!

Should the PLAYERS throw in the towel? Of course not.

Should we fans delude ourselves into thinking the team has a great chance of success this year, despite certain very obvious trends (e.g., can't stop the run, not just because of a new scheme, but because of a decided lack of talent on the D side of the ball; special teams so bad we have to throw our star corner out there to cover kicks; an accute tightening of the offense's sphincter whenever they reach the red zone, resulting in a dearth of TDs; serioulsy conservative play calling; the fact that we're about to face the #2 rushing team and one of the best Ds....etc.)? Nope, homey don't play that. I see the way they're playing, and I see where they'll most likely wind up this post season--yes, that would be playing golf. But that doesn't mean I like this team any less or stop rooting for them. I still hang out on this board suffering gladly suffering fools like you. I still watch every minute of every game, and live and die with every play. If the fact that I have realistic expectations for this season means that I'm a bottom feeder in your book...well then you can go feed on your own bottom, ya zealot.

110% agree...unless we dramatically improve we aren't going anywhere..we could easily lose the next 2..i'm hoping we win these next 2 HOME games to get to 4-3 and have a snowballs chance in hell of making a wild card..we'll need at least a 10-6 maybe even 11-5 record to make it..with the way the team has played we'll finish 7-9..8-8..but i'm hoping for a 10-6 record to get that wild card!!

Good sentiments!.. The problem is this team has not shown ANYTHING like that kind of response up till now. Nothing has changed that would indicate they finally found a backbone in the locker somewhere. the rookies and second year players were the only people I saw in the SD game that acted like they cared.

The WHOLE TEAM should have ALREADY responded like that after the Jags game...and they came out even worse. They Should respond to that SD whipping and come outs guns blazing..... And if they don't ....then what?

That is what has the fans that you call bandwagoners POed. These are supposed to be OUR Broncos. They aren't acting like it.

That's my reasoning for the Broncos winning this Sunday. If this team had any heart and fight in them at all, they'll come snarling out of the gate and make up for being embarrassed. If they put on a performance like we've seen this year, we need to do some serious house cleaning...

Beating three teams for the AFC West division title is looking more realistic for the Broncos than getting the wild card. There's too many above-.500 teams in the AFC North and Central vying for the wild card at the moment.

The game will not be as close as the score indicates. I see pittsburgh winning 24-10 or 17-3. You will not be able to run against pittsburgh... which will force young plummer to throw on 3rd and long against the blitzes... this game will be over by halftime.

I would agree that the game could be a dog fight if the donks could stop the run. We know that they cannot so, it will be a long day.... Rothlesburger play action pass... Parker breaks another long run... Cutler getting sacked... 3 int's and a couple of fumbles before the half.

This team stinks and woud be exposed and humiliated even worse then some of the Indy playoff games. Can you imagine what NE or Indy would do to this Defense in the Playoffs? Can you freaking imagine that and call yourself a fan?

This season is gone oh freaking well, that won't stop me from wearing my Bronco Hat to work or my Jersey on Sunday. Nor will it stop me from watching this team ever chance I get.

So to all you "Im a better fan then you lamers", THIS TEAM SUCKS.. But you know what? I still love me some BRONCOS! All I want from this season now is for us to play hard (win or loose) and get some exp, everything else is gravy.

I think that tailgatenut has been snorting Shanny's magic dust.

I'll be right there with ya, until the last week of the season, however, we are gonna HAVE to win the division, I don't think theres gonna be any wild card coming out of the afc west this year.

The one good thing about the Raiders actually winning is that their fans become better posters rather than going straight to insults. I'm actually liking Max's posts where Raider fans in general had been pretty annoying for a while.

That being said, I really think Max has us pinged for this weekend. I'd like to be positive but we're going to get blasted. No aspect of our game matches up well with or would be favored over the Steelers. I'm hoping for the best this weekend, but I'd put my money on the worst. If this team had any heart, I'd say anything is possible. This weenie squad we have isn't going to fight though, I'll call it now.

Enjoy your phyrric victories... the toll is obvious to the donk fans who remain silent while I prove my point. The exposure of the donks weaknesses in those games cost you more than it was worth... You won those games yet everyone who counts recognizes that the donks could be 0-5 at this point. Your team is on a 3 game losing streak... soon to be 4 mostly due to a defense that has been ****ty for the better part of 3 years! sadly, i find myself seeing SOME people that DO fit that mold.
people that complained INCESSANTLY about plummer (remember tacos ridiculous roadblock?) but ignored the God awful defensive line.
people that turned cutler into the messiah and put WAY too many expectations on the youngster.
probably many of the same people who are now hammering him for his play thus far.

people that just cant see past the qb position.

I'm only about an hour from him. Raiders fan base reaches far and wide. Cross country even.

wherever there are jails, there are raider fans.

wherever crimes are committed, raider fan is near.

wherever gangs thrive, raiders gear can be found.

wherever you find the scum of the earth, raider fan will be there.

Bowlen should have seen this long ago.

He should have changed the name of the team to the "Denver Quarterback".

I got a lot of **** you replies back from "good broncos fans". Hell I was just trying to be helpful as I've heard the Broncos are after internet scalpers.

well, fvvvkkk THEM, and i hope they lose their seats.

im SOOOO sick of seeing opposing teams fans in our section cause some dikkweed "fan" sold his tickets online.
im tired of the high brow no clue whats happening in the game BRONCO "fans" that show up in our section (get there late and leave early) with their kids in tow for some sunday entertainment.

sure, there are those of us that are there every week, and we are a close knit group (that does the best we can to get everyone around us going), but we are a much SMALLER group than we used to be.

.....and on the RARE occasion we dont use our seats (like a couple games ago when my dad was having heart trouble) we either miracle them to someone or sell that at or below face value.
help out other fans that are less fortunate.

10-6 would likely win the division

Oooh you're looking for a history lesson... I'll take you to school later... the only thing I know about right now is... there are a couple of teams with a 2-3 record. One team is on a 3 game losing streak and the other is on a 1 game losing streak... now if you want a history lesson... I'll start at 1967 and the 51-0 asswhipping at the hands of the Raiders and then I'll work my way forward to this year to include all the details including the tuck and all the lost playoff games since elway... how's that... you have time to listen to me talk about 50+ asswhippins at the hands of the Raiders?

If not stay in the current season.

talk about the broncos vs raiders since 1977 and youll find your team isnt so dominant.
in fact, youll find that we have a DECIDED edge, including that wonderful game IN 1977.

yeah yeah, i know thats not the ENTIRE series, but for Gods sake, can you stop living in the 60's?
you have to go back before disco to find an era where oakland dominated denver.

fact is, for the last THIRTY YEARS we've been the better team.....by leaps and bounds.
nice try though mr. history professor.

it was great meeting you, and thanks again for helping us get those extras.

hope to see you at another game sometime soon!!!

Are you smoking dope... did you just come from Treevis Henry's house? I'm not living in the past... Read the thread... Whenever your mule brothers run out of ammo they go into the past. I have been focused on current and up coming asswhippings. So, i'll tell you like everyone else... stay current and you won't have to hear about all the asskickings!

It's not like this team is going anywhere this year. We are terrible. I'll still watch all the games, and cheer as hard as I can, but I'm also rooted in reality. Even playing in a weak weak divsion, if we happen to win it, we won't make it out of 1 playoff game.

+1, I've been through this crap before with the Broncos (never as bad as our last game, at home even), and I know nothing is going to happen this year.

I am still pulling for Cutler though. The only thing I can hope for is that this helps the development of a kid we (depending on which side of the Plummer argument you were on) put a lot of faith in.

That said, this season will probably be full of disappointments, but hopefully in the end it will turn out a sacrifice for the overall good. Go Broncos.

They are used to rejection and living in the past.

Take our Poconos 'cutterman' hill-billy friend right here. I am sure he was rejected by the Philly fanbase that he is surrounded with (do you know how pathetic you must be to have that happen? Think Boob-level of worthlessness).

When he was forced out he picked a team that is as old, decaying and living off the past just like the Poconos hills he chooses to call home is.

As Floyd Little sat in the office of his southern California car dealership, his boisterous voice was filled with all the enthusiasm and vigor of an NFL player getting ready to play the one team he loved to hate.

One must hold the phone a few inches from the ear when Little talks about the Oakland Raiders. He gets into it. He holds back few words and definitely doesn't mince them.

"I hated those (expletives)," Little said. "We had a 14-game schedule, but we only had to win two games: Home and road against the Raiders. The whole week leading up to the game was bad. It was something that gave you gas."

Little was the Broncos' leading rusher from 1967 through 1973. During his prime years, Little lost 12 of the 14 games he played against the Raiders. The Raiders outscored the Broncos 424-236 in the 14 games. The lone victory was a 30-23 win in 1972. In the teams' first game of 1973, they tied 23-23.

"(Oakland) was always a tough game because you know you had to be at your best," Little said. "It was tough, it was physical. Everybody wanted to play in the game, too. Guys on the team would lie about their injuries just to get out there."

Daryle Lamonica paints a different picture. The "Mad Bomber" chuckles when asked to recall memories of late 1960s and early 1970s Raiders-Broncos games.

It's a knowing chuckle, the kind a brother or sister gets when he knows he has something on his sibling. One can almost see Lamonica leaning back in his recliner, arms high, fingers clasped behind his head.

"It seemed like we were always battling for the Western Conference title," Lamonica said. "I don't care when it was, whenever we played the Broncos in Denver, it snowed. The fans would make those snowballs, and they'd throw them at you when you ran on the field and when you ran off the field."

Hearty laughter followed. You can laugh and say things like that when you always came out on top - even though some of those things aren't true. Sure the snowballs were real. But playing for a title?

Uh huh.

The Broncos amounted to Raiders' feed, Raiders' whippin' boys. In Lamonica's prime, the Raiders won 11 times and lost once.

They were almost the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote of football. No matter how sly Little and the Broncos were, Lamonica's powerful arm always avoided the anvil. It's a surprise Little doesn't wake up these days in a frosty sweat screaming about hapless ACME products.

What made it worse for some Broncos' players was that several Raiders' players lived in Denver during the offseason. Little even trained with former Raiders' defensive back Willie Brown, who played for Denver from 1963-'66, at Manual High School in the offseason.

"They used to talk crap the entire summer," Little said. "You know, we may have lost, but I got 110 yards against them, so they couldn't say much about me."

Still the pain of losing to the Raiders was worse than losing to any other team. Little almost dismisses the rivalry with the Kansas City Chiefs. Little doesn't like the Chiefs because of a game where "they were ahead by 40 points, and they onside kick us," Little said, laughing.

That doesn't match the loathing he has for the Raiders.

"I still don't like them," Little said. "I don't want them to beat anybody. I root against them every chance I get. I rooted against them in the Super Bowl. I rooted against them, uggh, uggh.

The Raiders have lost 16 consecutive games against AFC West opponents -- the equivalent of a full season entering Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs at McAfee Coliseum.

The Chiefs have beaten the Raiders eight straight times. So have the San Diego Chargers, who beat Oakland 28-14 Sunday at Qualcomm Stadium.

Denver, the weak sister of the AFC where the Raiders are concerned, has won the last five against Oakland.

This historic run will probably keep going this year.Ha!

Well Chump, it's friday. That gives you a day and a half to keep repeating yourself like Rainman. And after we beat KC, I'm sure you'll tuck tail, and hide in here. We won't see you at RKA anymore, where you've been getting owned for the last week. Unless, of course, you just come in there spouting mindless drivel as you always do, but you won't have "0-16 vs. AFC west." What will you have then? Oh, I know. "The Donkos beat the Raiders in the first game." But, after the Raiders beat the Donkos in Oakland, what will you have then? "Uh, we beat you last year..." Cause that's all you got, the past. Old news, old news, old news. Like I said before, you better hit up Meck for some new material, yours is so old, it's starting to smell.
