Yeah...we need a better LB corp tho...AJ Hawk is a lot better than what we have now.

They got ex Rams 1st rounder Ryan Pickett who's doing a good job as a run stuffer.

We got ex Rams 1st rounder Jimmy Kennedy who's now unemployed.

One difference might be that Green Bay doesn't have our starting linebackers...

Hilarious!

Whoop!Whoop!Whoop! Spread out!!! Nyuk, nyuk,nyuk.

Maybe we can get the PA guy to play "Pop! Goes the Weasel", maybe that will get Curly Williams moving.

Barnett is what you have when a MLB has instincts and tenacity.

Aaron Kampman helps the cause too...that dude is a monster on every play.

I believe that once again, when this system has the proper DT's, everything else falls into place. We took Adams because he was the last girl on the dance floor, but that doesn't mean he was ready to get us to the playoffs. Green Bay has some wide bodied (and pretty active) DT's that get some push up the middle and create some pressure. I know the first level of "getting the Bates D" is for the DT to occupy 2 blockers, but the second level of the D is to do that on the other side of the LOS. Our tackles haven't been very good at that. When you watch Green Bay, they are good about taking the battle to the offensive side of the LOS and creating a push.

I hope Marcus Thomas is learning a lot from his playtime this year, and Ii hope we get him some better help net year.

Here is another question. In hindsight of the Detroit trade. Would you have rather traded for Bly or Shaun Rogers? I thought he was asking for more money this year, just like Bly. I don't want that to sound like sour grapes, because I am glad we have Bly, but it is becoming more and more apparent that we needed a pro-bowl caliber DT (that doesn't hobble out to the field).

Kampman wasn't anything special until Bates' scheme rolled into town. First three seasons, 7 sacks combined. '05, Bates first year there, 6.5. Then 15.5 last year and 3 so far this year. He's a perfect example as to why we want to get this system installed, Dumervil, Moss, and Crowder will kill QBs in it.

We're going through a similar transition period as GB, though ours might even be worse because DJ is playing out of position, Gold has clearly lost a step, and Adams isn't pulling anything close to his own massive weight.

The bright side is that while Green Bay had no where to turn for FA help, since Miami hasn't exactly been a good team since Bates' left, we on the other hand do. Corey Williams and Chris Coles will both be FAs after this year, maybe RFA but for two guys who were undrafted and a 6th round pick respectively that won't be a huge obstacle. They're backups this year but have started previous seasons in GB, including '05 directly under Bates, and are both still in their late 20's. Hell of an opportunity to acquire a quick solution to our DT problems.

At linebacker, well, this has potential to be the best FA crop of linebackers in a while. Lot of talented guys that I just don't see teams committing franchise tags to. Even assuming a good number of the top guys resign there are still guys like Lehman and Boss Bailey who're very talented but haven't been able to stay on the field to prove it, middle tier guys who could break out and really help us.

We've got a lot of cap room. We could potentially use it to address all of our needs before the draft even roles around and then get to use our selections on best players available, setting us up for a significant turnaround in '08. Thats great considering we still have a very realistic shot at the division this year.
