Did they repeal the pick rule in the NFL? I just watched the Chefs run a 3-way pick to get Gonzales open. The Colts live off of pick routes at this point.
What gives?

The Pats live off them too.

Some teams will cross routes to brush a defender, not actually pick them. Didn't see the play, I'm assuming it was pretty obvious if you made a thread about it.
Off-topic Note: Adrian Peterson just p!ssed on the Bears Defense for a TD. So far, 8 rushed for 105 yds.

Pick plays are no longer the point of emphasis. I believe it was three years ago the NFL made it a point of emphasis so coaches just changed routes in certain plays. As far as calling one...I am usually a back judge on a college crew and to call a pick play it had to be fairly evident that one of the recievers was going out of his way to interfere with the defender. It is also pretty evident when a receiver knows he's not getting the ball. But It could just as well be called pass interferance. I'm not sure on the NFL ruling, and haven't received any conference emails on pick plays this year as I'm deployed.

Picks have to be blatant to be called penalties. Routes have always been designed to rub Defenders in man coverage on crossing routes. Every offense has those plays and uses them against high man coverage defenses. A lot of the receptions on DEN's CB's this year have been on crossing patterns and several have had rub routes combined with them. It is part of the gameplan if you play heavy man coverage.
