Grandview was up 22-7 (I believe) when I started watching it. They came out at half time and Jack E. was 0-6 in the first half.

He came out firing and scored quickly. Jack threw a lob pass over a defender to his running back. The running back went for about 30 yards and a score. Grandview 22-14

Grandview went 3-n-out on their first possession and punted. Cherry Creek got the ball and went 5 plays -64 yards for a TD. The TD was Jack E. to whomever #17 was on a play action fake on what looked like a post route. They play was 54 yards and looked to be timed well and caught his receiver in stride. Cherry Creek tried to go for two, but Jack threw a bad ball and failed. 22-20.

Grandview tried to run the ball and settle things down a bit. Man, the Grandview Fullback just plowed people over and opened up holes for his running back. That fullback was 5-9 220. By the end of the game, the Grandview running back carried the ball some 40+ times in the game and was the eventual player of the game. He looked a bit scrawny, but my Grandma could have run behind that fullback they had. Regardless, they just took time off the clock and punted.

I don't remember what exactly transpired next, but Cherry Creek again goes up with another score. This time they do get the 2-point conversion on a perfectly timed fade to the side of the endzone where only the receiver could get it. Cherry Creek 28-22.

Grandview just continued their running game. In fact, they held the ball for 11 minutes ate up 4th quarter. They finally finished with a run into the endzone for 6. They went for two and got it. Grandview 30-28 with 2:30 or so left in the game.

Jack comes in and "engineers" a comeback drive. Man they really played up they whole comeback bit with dad on the sidelines. He did scramble for a key first down and complete to a receiver downfield, but the scoring play was a well blocked reverse that went for 6. Jack attempted to get the 2 point conversion again, but scrambled right and could not put the ball where it needed to be. Cherry Creek 34-30 with 49 seconds left.

Grandview starts throwing the ball for the first time that I could really see in the second half because they had to. They drove it down the field and the QB threw a perfect ball about 30-35 yards out for a touchdown in the back of the end zone. Grandview goes up 37-34 with 11 seconds.

There was just nothing to do at this point. Jack does not have a 70 yard gun and nothing was open. Time ran out and Grandview wins.

So is it still a consensus that this guy is only getting recruited due to his genes and nothing he's shown skill-wise?

if oregon and lsu are possible schools, I think it might be more than that. He is ranked #25th among high school QBs.

Given this is the only game I saw, I thought he was pretty good. I have nothing else to compare him with, but it is by far not that black and white video we saw of Elway in High school where he throws that 70 yard bomb to his wide out over Ronnie Lott.
