Insult to injury.

As long as the D-line is schemed to wait for the runner to come to them (and pass them, for the most part), Warren wouldn't have that opportunity to get sacks.

I think the stats are a little overated. He has Sapp on one side garnering attention and Sapp is providing the leadership for that line, Warren is just a role-player.

I'm happy for him, as much as I can be for a former bronco turned raider. We traded him though, and he didn't say one bad word walking out the door.

Sapp is old by NFl standards, Warren is just showing up and doing his job, Unlike the DT's we kept on the squad.

Warren is a class act, he had no control over what happened, he was here to play and the coaches didn't think he fit the mold anymore. As it turns out, no one fits the mold of this sorry scheme. Bates needs to be traded. Shanny put all his eggs in the Bates basket and now we are all paying for it. I thought this guy was an attack mode coach, not a read and react soft vanilla scheme guy. I want attack, not read and react.

good point. I guess Warren was able to stop the run and that just doesnt fit here in Denver where we let the LB and safeties try to stop em. The D line does make sure the holes are wide enough for a Bronco to stop the running back 6 yards down the field ROFL!

HAHAHAHAHA...... Warren was the best DT on the team when he was cut and he would be the best DT on the team if he was still here.

I still can't believe you traded within division. Honestly hadn't seen much of him until this year and when I came over here to get a read on the dude after the trade the bashing made me hope he would just be a decent depth guy.

Guess he just needed a fresh start.

I am very happy with that pick, yes.

Now all we need is about 3 more selections (4 hopefully).

We had Gerard Warren and Jimmy Kennedy a month ago. I know they both had some issues, but geez.... After watching the last two games and seeing our D-linemen getting pushed back like they were on roller skates....

What the hell were our coaches thinking? Apparently that Jarvis Moss (all 250 pounds of him) was going to anchor at the point of attack?

I was surprised at the Warren move at the time and wondered if they knew something we didn't...

Sadly that was not the case. What I think it probably was was a case of Warren being the type of guy who doesn't bring 100% in practice but will bring it on game day. Shanny hates those kind of guys and they never get to stay on very long in his setup. of course, at the moment we are looking like like we replaced him with guys who bring it in practice but not on gameday.....

Oh wah, the people who still wish Warren here are probably the ones who thought he was a good player in the first place. He's not. He's been a turd since he came into the league and he'll be a turd when he leaves. I'm happy with a fifth-rounder.

I'm pretty happy with it. Warren wouldn't have done a damn thing to help us this year, he'd have just bitched and moaned about the scheme change, if he hadn't already done that.

He wants to be a penetrator but has a gap filler's body. Coyer was willing to focus our DL around his mediocre game so he was happy here. As soon as Bates rolled in the writing was on the wall for Warren. Getting a 5th for him is pretty good compensation if you ask me.

Generally, I think Shanny puts too much emphasis on practice. Practice is not a game situation. In practice, Shanny installs plays he thinks will work like gangbusters, and on gameday he runs those plays over and over and over. Even if they don't work on gameday, he has his favorite plays installed in practice that were executed to perfection in practice, and he keeps running them over and over and over on gameday. He'll run the same play from different formations. Or he'll run the same play, but from the opposite side.

Shanny loses the chess match too often on gameday because his chess game was played in practice, not in live action.
