Granted 41 points is hardly anything inspire confidence, but if you compare that game to the Jacksonville/Colts game, you can see marked improvement, whether or not it reflects on the scoreboard.

You can see a team that's clogging gaps and stopping runs (against the greatest RB in the game) for 0-2 yards, MOST of the time. There were mental lapses (Turner's run near the half), and a collective team quit in the 2nd half, to be completely disgusted by. But you can see things starting to mesh.

When costly mental errors causing 40-80 yard runs, 1st downs on 2nd and 33, etc, are eliminated/greatly reduced, obviously we'll see a much better product on the field.

Yes, this is all obvious and pointless considering the scoreboard, but at the same time, I saw some of the better defensive plays since first half Oakland.

No matter how you cut it, the D sucks right now. No making excuses for them. When, they make the routine stops, an actual "routine" stop, and continue to force 3 and outs of the opponent offense, the offense will have a chance to beat someone. Until then, they will continue to just plain suck..dman

Our defense made Norv Turner look like a genius. I think that says it all right there.:unamused:

Quick question. Against the chargers they had Champ covering gates right? My next questions are why don't the broncos commit 9 guys every time to the run? Why not instead of showing blitz they use some delay blitzes? Are we playing a lot of zone with our cb's or are we letting they play man? It seems that with those two that we should be able to attack the hell out of an offense like Green Bay does.

Confused..

If you were watching the game, We had 9 in the box alot.... Hence LT getting the small amount of rushing yards he had.

On the other hand, I am calling BS on the Rev's post, Brother put down the cronic and stop posting such garbage. Funniest post in months.

We had 9 in the box sometimes but they were still out of position, the linebackers should have played right up on the line to secure all gaps, just like they did with Philly a couple of years ago and how they played that whole '05 season on defense, we need to go back to that. This read and react crap is really making this defense look terrible.

I don't know if selling out the pass to stop the run is neccessarily improvement.

Put more in the box, if we get beat on the pass, oh well.

Bottom line is, the D is what may be termed marginally "literate", they don't know how to "read" consistently well enough, ergo any subsequent "reaction" is most likely going to be wrong. In the meantime, the season goes down the tubes because their learning curve apparently isn't quite there. It all needs to be simplified a bit and slowed down appreciably for them to come up to speed. IF that's not possible, then the coaching staff overestimated the present group, that is clearly on them.....dman

Just another excuse to avoid biggest reason our D sucks: LACK OF TALENT

I do believe less missed tackles less missed assignments would make us look better but, honestly by how much. Denver looks at our talent on paper vs talent playing in games missing assignments can't cover anybody.

Who sold out the pass? I'm really not sure wtf was going on at 2nd and 33 to have Gold covering your #1 WR but the marginal passing success had more to do with injuries than anything else.

Gold, Williams, and Webster all flowed (or tried to flow) exactly where LT went. That's why almost every play action pass that Rivers attempted was completed, usually for a big gain. They stopped a few times when Michael Turner went in and look what happened.

This statement is obviously bull**** considering DJ has done nothing all season. If you want to replace flowing with stumbling like a retard, then we'll continue discussion.

The front 4 might look better with LBs worth a damn. Regardless they all are playing poor. Ian Gold covering a WR twice his size is a coaching problem. Something like that should never happen. I was bouncing back from the TV to the radio and they did call Golds name a lot for tackles and what not.

I am calling BS on the teams _efence improving. They gave up over 200 rushing yards and 200 passing yards last week at home.... where is the improvement. Sorry Bro, but I have been to every home game and witnessed the lack of D every week and it keeps getting worse.

Why is it everytime I see this thread mentioning Denver and _efence I start to laugh?

When it's 2nd and 33 and you KNOW the defense won't stop them, they are not very good.
