This is a huge loss for us..

Things just seem to be getting worse and worse.
I think we're looking at a top-ten pick this year.

From Tom Nalen: They have a right to leave and say whatever they want," Nalen said. "It's tough. But we deserve it."
Brandon Marshall did say the fans were bandwagon though he also admitted the game was ugly.

Dam, when it rains it pours.
I'm in it for the long haul, tough day to be a Bronco fan.

Ugh. Might be a good opportunity for Chris Myers, whose dad posts here.

Damn. Last time Nalen was out this team really tanked. Who was it said it can't get any worse?

That means Myers will get the snaps at center. His versatility is his strong suit.
If Nalen is out, we need to find out what we have with this offensive line. Unfortunately it may be time to move on without Tommy from here on out. He isn't getting any younger.
Its the bye week... perfect time to make some moves.
I would keep Lepsis at LT, move Holland over to LG, move Myers to Center, implement Kuper at RG and stay with Pears at RT and work Harris in to see if he is any good.
I'm going to buy a 'put' on the Bronco's season.

Put or putt?
I have been in this thing for the long haul, long before the first SB in '77. Hang on because it can be a difficult "patch" - as they say - but I am convinced that the long term view will show a good team emerging from the ashes.

If Nalen is out for the season, he might be out for good... Maybe he'll be able to extend his career past 13 years... But I'm not terribly optimistic about this news.

God bless Tom Nalen.
Might as well sit both he and Hamilton for the duration. No sense in exacerbating issues for this team.
Damn, this is a huge loss. Well, when it rains it pours....

Damn... now our season is REALLY toast... I always felt that Big Nails was the most important part of our offense... our offensiv MVP for a decade and a half.... last time he missed a few games, the team lost all of them....
If he cannot make a comeback, we might have seen the curtains fall on one of the greatest, if most underappreciated Bronco of all time....
Thanks Nails, you really are top drawer.....

yeah....look at the division. The Broncos just got absolutely blown out at home to what was previously the worst team....and it's not like it was just a fluke game or anything that you can just chalk up to "any given Sunday". They are playing pretty much just like they have been every week.
Add to that the mounting injuries to key starters and you certainly don't have a recipe for a division winner.

I will never bail on this team and I am sure that im not the only one. I would like to think that we as Bronco fans hold a high standard for our team, but no matter what we will ride them through the bad times, just like we do through the good times.
So we looked like sh!t, Nalen is probably lost for the year, we are 2-3, and have not shown a lot of promise in 2007. This team will turn it around, starting in the bye week. I think we have a lot of character on this team and a loss like this is what we needed.
I think our two last second wins did us more harm than good, it gave us a false hope, this loss slammed us back to reality. It is time for adjustment, and I for one always thought shanny has been great at ADJUSTMENT.
I for one had a hard time watching this and I'm just a fan, think about the players and coaches who went through this mess, there is no dman way that are about to let that happen again!!

Didn't I hear this after the Jacksonville game?

I don't know where that belief would come from. For the past few years, this team has by and large sucked in the second half of games and almost always sucks in the second half of the season.

Broncos fans are so spoiled. We've been lucky this whole time to not have had a year like this.
This whole slide started on my birthday when that San Franscisco player died, then Dwill, Nash, S.F. beat us bad, then Wilson....If's like a 7 year itch. We'll be stronger after we come through this whole thing. Broncos fans are spoiled. All this time without a real losing season.
Will all the fans who are committing suicide please send me all your stuff?

I can still "give a sh*t" while being realistic about the chances of the Broncos turning it all around THIS season.
For me (and several others here), it's all about the development of the young guys right now. If some miracle were to occur and completely turn things around this season, then all the better. But most realists don't expect it to.

Totally agree. Nalen was the best offensive player on the team, second best overall to Champ. Name another player on the Broncos who is top 5 at his position in the league. Walker and Lepsis can sniff top 10 when healthy. Bly, maybe. Unless you want to throw Elam and Sauerbrun into the conversation, that's the whole list of current top flight NFL players on the roster.
Add to it that Nalen calls the line signals and has an inexperienced quarterback. His loss is probably the worst single loss this offense could suffer. And that's an offense that was going to have to carry this team, with the defense looking irretrievably broken for the year.
If this really is the end for Nalen, folks should be stopping in their tracks and saying goodbye to one of the best ever in Denver. Elway's in the HOF. Sharpe and Bailey are locks. Nalen's in that next group with Zimmerman, Atwater, Gradishar, etc. of guys who really, really should make it. Those kind of guys don't come through town every day.

true QT,, this will force some real house cleaning and rebuilding instead of reloading with overrated has beens and taking reaches with spotty draft picks.
We need a new D coordinator ASAP as Bates just doesn't have it or cant communicate it to these guys. He seems to shuffle players around but hasn't been abide to tweak his system to put them in better position to make plays and they seem lost out there. Granted once Champ went out and with Bly hobbling and Lynch not at full speed it was a lost cause but I saw a lot of flat out giving up out there on plays even in the fist half!
With Nalen and likely Henry gone now Cutler is going to feel like hie is back at Vanderbilt playing Florida every week!
