View Full Version : Pipe Dream: Our next coach. Cowher? Garrett? Who?

No, Shanny likely isn't going anywhere, unless he gets fed up and retires. But who doesn't think that a fresh face would do us a world of good right now? Coaches get stale in one place, and a new face can energize a team. Look at Tomlin and Pitt. So, who is on your wish list.

I'm not ready to get rid of Shanny, but I wouldn't mind seeing almost every other coach (with the exception of Bobby Turner) leaving and never coming back

I think maybe fresh coaching is what we need.
But, it would have to be someone worthwhile.

Martz.

If Anyone can inject life back into this team, its him...

Either martz or the USC guy the faide failed to get, Sarkisan.

Give the young Sarkisan a chance.

Kiffin is working out for the Faide.

There are good, young pieces in place on this team. I hate where we are right now, but I'm not getting carried away with it. And especially as it pertains to having a young QB, the last thing we need right now is instability.

And fortunately, I think my opinion matches that of the only guy that matters - Pat Bowlen.

That's about right. Mike just needs to be a HC instead of sharing double duty as GM as well.

I have had this conversation with my friends for the last year or so. I don't dislike Mike, but his play calling and calls in general have been getting worse every year. (Going for it on your own 9). I am not a band wagon fan, and will be behind them if they are 2-14, but I wouldn't mind seeing Cowher here.

Anybody forget that Cowher recorded a 6-10 season just a couple years before his super bowl season?

Cowher won one super bowl.

Cowher < Shanahan.

The General Manager of the Denver Broncos is Ted Sundquist. I don't understand why so many people have a hard time with this bit of info.

Because he's Shanny's lacky, and he also sucks. Give me a Pioli or a Smith -- someone with true power and knack for finding players.

Because people do not consider puppets people.

Now back to the topic, I would love to see 'The Chin' patrolling our sidelines.. He brings a much needed toughness that this team sorely needs.

What we need is a D-Line. We've needed one for years. This organization has minimalised the need and tried using stopgap methods for too long. It has finally bit us in the ass so hard that even the most myopic of our fans base can't ignore it. Our defense flat out sucks. We are wasting two CB's, a Safety and an OLB. If we don't get some DT help in here we will be wasting a couple of promising DE's as well.

I don't know who is responsible. Obviously there are going to be several people involved in the decision but I don't know who makes the call. Maybe if we had kept a long term DC in here instead of scapegoating them then the defensive side of the house would have gotten more attention. I've heard that next year's draft is deep at DT. I hope so, and I hope the Broncos take advantage of it.

I've wanted to see Steve Mariucci coaching in Denver for years.

Mooch could be a great teacher to a young Jay-C.

But then I also would'nt mind seeing "a disciple of Billichek" Charlie Weis running the show.

Charlie helped make Brady what he is today!

This organization has minimalised

Shanny is the organization. Many players, both current and former, will tell you that it's Shanny's world and everyone else is just visiting.

I'll tell you what, if Cower was in Denver... we might not be much better than we are now, but you wouldn't see dumb****s like Gold and Williams whiffing on tackles game after game. Our team would at LEAST be fundamentally sound.

Amen, Popps, Amen. Well said, rep. I am thinking the exact same way. The Broncos have lost their grasp on the basic fundamentals of the game. It is time to clean house and get a tough coach in here, somebody who gets visibily pissed off when players screw up! We need some FIRE, some HEART! We're sorely lacking in both and it is going to be a long season.

For those struggling with the Broncos being a ****ty team, just keep telling yourself "Rebuilding Year....Rebuilding Year...." It makes it easier, trust me i know.

I could tell you one thing for sure, the Tuesday presser's would be more entertaining!ROFL!

Bill can be a hard-azz!

But Bill is an east-coast guy. I can't see him moving out to Denver.

Just this summer he moved into a huge home in North Carolina. He's not looking to hop around the country. If was going to take any gig it would be the Panthers job.

Unfortunately the teams with the most "fire" and "heart" don't win SBs. Talent does. How many Broncos are top 5 or top 10 at their position?

Maybe we could hire Jim Levitt from USF to be our Defensive coach? A coach who can get his players to play with some passion. That USF team should be an underdog most games and they play with MAJOR heart. I just think the coaches are collecting their checks. This orginization is stale... I want my $180 for my Sunday Ticket back!

I don't think Shanahan is mailing it in. He's not that kind of guy.

I just think he took a bunch of chances and they haven't worked out. (Adams, Rice, Crowder/Moss so far...Williams in the middle, not signing a real OLB, etc.)

I also think we have some real soft-asses on this team and not enough leaders to get them to straighten up.

He blamed himself for this loss, for what it's worth.

Mike Martz? This thread is ridiculous...even redicules.

i was watching the 1999 Ram's Americas Game special, and man, their offense was something with Martz calling the plays.

Thats where i got the idea, but then i did some reading on Martz's disregard for pass protection, and now it doesnt seem like such a good idea.

ive calmed down a little bit from the loss.

But seriously, Shanny needs to right the ship.
