Nice one Shanahan.

Great coaching Bates, Heimdinger or whatever the **** your name is, O'Brien and the rest.

Nice of the players also to quit on your team. Yeah that's right the Organisation that pays you a salary so the bums dont have to work in McDonalds.

They're all a ****ing disgrace and should give this week's proportion of earnings back to Pat Bowlen who doesn't deserve this ****.

It's bad enough that most of them haven't the talent to get anywhere near another team's practice squad but to give up like they did is a travesty.

Disgusted at the lot of them.

honest ? eddie mac. WHat do you honestly think they can do during this bye week to turn it around atleast a little bit, because I truly believe that we have some nice pieces, but also some s*** on this team. Any ideas? Trades? New starter? What do you think. Im trying to stay optimistic, though that game just gave me a migrane

Let Cutler air it out this year. The _efence needs to pull the ends in, just a little, and keep Lynch in the box. Let the corners cover and stuff the run. It's not that hard, we have great corners, cheat a little to stuff the run. Come on guys there is not that big of a talent difference between this team and the one that made the AFC championship game.

41-3 says it all. I'd go on a rant, but I ranted myself out years ago about Shanny. Many years ago after the two SB wins I compared him to Chuck Noll, said he would end up another Chuck Noll. Why did he not go to a hurry-up O when the team was down 20-3 to open the second half? What kind of idiot does not go to the hurry-up in that situation?

Pretty bad. Shanahan took FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE LOSS during the press conference on the NFL channel. He reiterated on two seperate occassions, he did not prepare them properly and he is too blame. Interesting. Well it appears he just completed step 1 wrt leadership in crisis, take full responsibility. Step 2, redefine the standard and commence kicking major butt simultaneously. I suspect there will be some changes. By the way, How is CHAMP? heard he's hurt?....dman

Seems he didn't prepare them for the offseason/pre-season and regular season.

Any other team in this league the HC would be gone.

The team has gone steadily downhill over the last 5 games.

We squeaked game one with a miraculous special teams play.

We squeaked game 2 with Mastermind's timeout call.

Then we just dropped dead.

I've never ever seen this team so flat on all 3 units.

The offense has looked promising in stretches but has no killer instinct and cant get the ball in the endzone. The playcalling BTW is horrendous. Is it because Cutler's young and just learning the game who knows but at this point where's the difference in just giving him the ball and saying here Jay "just try to keep it close".

This thread needs to keep legs. I'm not scared of getting my ass kicked, I've played on many a team and had our asses kicked quite a few times, had my ass handed to me a few times. This loss was pathetic ugly. I saw this was the worst back-to-back losses since 1966 for the Broncos.

This team better kick some ass after the bye, or that's some ignominious territory they'll still be living in. I didn't see much intestinal fortitude today. That's not Bronco football.

How can anyone single out Gold?

Is it because somehow he was matched one on one with a WR and had a TD scored on him? I supose it isn't fair to put any responsibility on the safties?

here's the short version. the Broncos received the opening kickoff. a touchback. they held the ball for 4:20 and then punted. Sandy Eggo took over at their own 29 and promptly marched down the field to score a TD. breaking a streak of 22 straight games where the Broncos had not allowed an opposing team to score a TD on their first drive of the game. at this point, the game was only 8 minutes and 45 seconds old. on the ensuing kickoff, the Broncos latest kick returner (who shall remain nameless and will be cut tomorrow) fumbled the ball into the arms of a Sandy Eggo player who then ran it into the end zone. just like that, the Broncos trailed 14-0. they showed a reaction shot of Jay Cutler after this happened and you could practically see the disgust on his face. Sandy Eggo kicks off again. a touchback. the Broncos start at their own 20 yard line and quickly proceed to march the ball deep into Sandy Eggo territory. however, after a nice pass play, Brandon Marshall fumbles the ball away at the 9 trying to get an extra couple of yards. at this point, with 3 minutes and 20 seconds left in the 1st quarter, the game is over for all intents and purposes. the Broncos trailed by 2 TDs. had commited 2 costly turnovers. all momentum had switched to Sandy Eggo (who promptly marched downfield and kicked a field goal to take a 17-0 lead). everything after that is mostly irrelevant and you really don't want to know how much worse it got.

Thanks WIJG,oh the agony.
I know the chances are VERY slim,
but if we somehow were to come out and beat
pitt,well,I bet everyone here(most)would have a complete
opposite effect;but in reality, these problems remain and
we can't compete w/the better teams in the AFC.
We need to,as some have already said, find out who wants
to play and who does'nt.
As far as Shanny, well,as one of the older fans here(not to old though)
I remember those before and well,I'm willing to give him at least 3 years
w/Cutler.After that,if things don't get any better than this,well.

No. You just got the luck of the schedule and played one of the worst teams in the NFL. You guys have a pretty fluff schedule this season. When you run into the Colts in a couple of weeks, you'll learn all you need to learn about Norvball.

Claytons take about Gold.I knew it.

"We've got a lot of work to do," Shanahan said. "Anytime you give up the type of yards we gave up in the running game, there's a concern there. So we'll work at it extremely hard this week. Obviously, in our bye week we'll do it for a couple of days and hopefully improve. Against a team like San Diego, you can stop them for a couple of plays, but you make one wrong mistake at linebacker or defensive end and they can turn it into a big play."

Despite the quick deficit, the Broncos had visions of getting back into the game in the third quarter during a Chargers drive that was going in reverse. San Diego, ahead 20-3, faced a second-and-33 from its 39. Momentum was starting to shift … until Rivers spotted Broncos linebacker Ian Gold (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=5069) matched up in single coverage on WR Vincent Jackson (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=7237). The result: a 45-yard pass play to Jackson that broke the will of the Broncos.

And if anybody thought the Chargers' will had been broken by their three-game losing streak ... well, the doubters got the response Sunday.

I should have been clearer.Gold was put into a mismatch.

Did the d coach's actually think that he could cover jackson?

Or was it a mismatch created by SD's O?

I'm dissapointed by Gold. He's not playing well at all.

He looked pretty good in Tampa?

Mismatch created by the offensive formation and they were obviously able to exploit it.

Gold has been fine IMO for most of this season. He had probably two bad games, but the other three he has largely taken care of his responsibilities. Many here are focusing in on one or two plays and judging his entire season by those, but by and large, he has done a decent job covering guys and making the tackles he has needed to make.

This issue was the inspiration for my new sig. Bad things happen when you expect players to play out of their positions. Ian Gold isn't a CB and Champ can't be expected to play CB AND help out at safety...
