By Shanny's own standards, this season is over. We can't compete in the playoffs, if we even get there. (And we won't.) So start retooling now. Lose the old mercenary players like Bly, Rice, Adams, etc. Start any and all youngsters, to see what you have. Get some younger, fiery position coaches. And go back to fundamentals. The core of young offensive talent is there, and we have some potential young players on defense. Get the team rebuilt to give them a chance.

Either that, or fire Shanny and hire Jason Garrett.

Bly can't be moved, just signed a new deal with $10+M in bonus money.

I agree with the offense, it doesn't look it, but they've some young horses. Find a LT to replace Lepsis in a year or two and they'll be fine. Didn't see today's game (Thank God), but Shanahan's appeared tight in the redzone all season like he'd rather settle for 3 instead of letting Jay learn. At this point he should just spread it out and tell Jay to go take his lumps.

Defense is a whole different story. They've got the CBs and a WLB (DJ), we'll see what the rookies look like next year on the DL. Let Rice and Adams walk, along with anyone else on one-year deals.

They're $21M under, Jay will eat up $8M of that around Game 10 of this season (IIRC), but Champ will probably be given a new contract saving them some money. They bought offense for the most part last offeason, time to buy defense this offseason.

In this day and age, they are damn near all mercenary players... oh, and I am not ready to jump on the fire Shanny bandwagon yet. Otherwise, we absolutely have to do something and fairly quickly.
