Does anyone know why we don't blitz?
Because against Peyton that's "let let them score six....."
Also because our Lb's can't disguise squat, and a saftey or corner blitz leaves us exposed too easily. Hell, we can't stop the run now,....A blitz would leave the screens and draws open completely.

Against Peyton blitzing is a very bad idea every time.
Im more curious as to why we cant stop 3rd string running backs from gettting 5+ yards on every carry.

I would rather die quickly than be bleed to death. Is it too much to ask to change the game plan and try and blitz a little.

You can't blitz Manning all day. But, mixing it up would have been nice.
I mean, I would have hated to tilt the balance of our finely tuned defense today.

I cant believe how people say you can't blitz manning. Late in the game we had a couple 3rd and threes where it would have helped and maybe just blitz to try to stop the run. Never blitzing is stupid. It is not an automatic 6. The year he torched us when we blitzed was because we did it everydown.

I agree. You can blitz ANY quarterback. You just have to choose your spots.
Ask Steve Atwater.

I would prefer the D line cover their gaps rather than worry about blitzing more.
They got after Manning in the 1st half disrupting some of his throws and harrassing him. Indy adjusted before the 1/2 and the slaughter was on.
I liked how Moss was moving at the line in the 1st half, he didn't seem to do it much in the 2nd.
I think next year once Elvis gets a couple more moves we should have a decent line.
I also found it interesting that Shanny held out Gordon and Adams... Adams may have helped later in the game but some signal was sent to a couple people in the front 4.

I disagree with this sentiment. It's hindsight at this point, but all we did was prolong the pain.
We got behind the 8-ball early kicking field goals. Once our patience strategy was exposed -- about the time we went down 14 - 13 -- it was time to get aggressive.

I question why after so many losses, they still refuse to jam the Colts' WRs at the line to try to throw off their timing.
You'd think that after watching Manning pick them apart so often, they'd try something different just once.

There's only one way to slow down the colts, pressure up the middle. The broncos havent had that kind of player since Trevor Pryce. They tried it today with Jarvis Moss, but it just wasn't working out quite so well. When you have guys like Richard Seymour and Albert Haynesworth to collapse the pocket, it helps immensely. Peyton is great stepping up in the pocket, he can be exposed when he has to move laterally.

They did try to blitz once, but it was with Bly, who left Wayne, who made Foxworth his Bi...
