View Full Version : The one positive we can take from tonight....

.....is that we don't have to play the Colts again this year!
Unless we get into the playoffs of course, but right now that would take a massive improvement.
The way this team was ripped up and re-done in the offseason i would be happy to think that we will come on strong later in the season. Given our schedule however, I don't necessarily see it becuase we have our away games loaded slightly to the back-end, so that's going to be tough.
HOWEVER, I refuse to get on the "Bates Out" or "DJ sucks" bandwagons, because when you make big changes you have to be prepared to give them time. I think the fact that we looked like the worst defense in the league tonight was as much because we played the best offense as it was down to us sucking.
This team has upside and can improve. I'm thinking we don't hit the 'eject' button 'till then end of the season if we still suck this bad, but by then it will be too late to save the season. Ladies and gentlemen, the cards for this season have been dealt, and all we can do now is play them the best we can.

I kind of agree with this post. We need to start scoring in the red zone and defensive philosophy needs to change somewhat. I understand bates' d is made to get up the field, but the absolute gutting has to stop. DJ needs to learn how to fill a freakin gap.

Thank you. Nice post.
Redzone offense must improve. It would have been a tie game if we had a TD in all 3 of our first half redzone visits.

You cannot make the playoffs without a _efense. The team is 1/4 through the season. A _efense doesn't magically appear.
The bright spots are watching the young players on offense.

Yea its no secret the D is weak. But Manning has more than established his effectiveness in this league and their offensive system.
The Indy D didn't impress me much either all things considered.

Not when Henry had over a 100 yards by halftime...

Yet the Bronco attack completely went donk after going up 13-7. Playcalling was terrible, once again. Versus a weak Indy D, the Broncos failed to do a damn thing after the FG putting them up 13-7. The _efense sucks, but the playcalling on offense has been offensive.
Where's that Jake Plummer doll I can kick around, I need to go punt it again.

Denver's offense is young with many new faces playing key positions.
Compare them to Indy's offense, Manning and key player positions. Harrison went out early and they didn't drop off, Addai went out in the third and again no drop off.

We did bang up their team a little bit ;D

Yea, kind of like this thread, its only week for and we have a lot of football left to play......but it is true, we don't have to play mellonhead again
I'm glad we showed up in the first half and probably could have had the lead after the first half. We have a ton of young guys and we were short handed but played hard at the beggining. Part of improving is learning how to finish as well as not making the big mistakes. I used to beat my head against the wall if we didn't win every game but you learn that it takes a special team to go all the way, and this team isn't special right now. They're getting better but honestly, I think we are a few years away from being a lagit threat, once our young core players get that experience they need at this level. Quit picking this team apart and just friggin enjoy the damn games. Some of you guys want to run everybody out of town after 4 games. At that rate, who the hell would want to come here and play or coach. Thank god some of you aren't in charge of football operations in Denver.

Nice post. When we roll down the field, I expect us to score a TD, not a field goal, especially against a team like Indy. Also, need more agressive playcalling.

TD's would have helped...much improved Running Game over last week... 36/223 yards!
It's comical to see everyone so fired up after this loss. I know we all hoped to get a win but did anyone think we would? A little perspective never hurts the Broncos have been around since 1960 and have only won 2 Super Bowls so lets back away from the ledge and relax. It's a long season and so there is time to improve. Be thankful that we have an owner that tries to do the right thing and make the team better and continue to support out team. Here's to hoping that with Cutler we are on track to win a 3rd some time in the future.

Where's that Plummer doll. I need to smack him against the door.

Selvin is another positive!

I knew by not getting touchdowns, it was going to hurt us.....field goals don't mean crap to this team, we all knew it
09-30-2007, 09:45 PM
why didn't they throw a pass longer than 10 yds ???
i thought they were going to open it up this year i mean if the offense stays on the field then the defense won't have to embarrass themselves

Playcalling went to sh*t and I don't think blaming the special teams and defense is the only reason(though they are so f'n obvious). Shanny needs to stop being a wuss and let the young kid f'n play QB.
