Everyone has heard the saying "don't get too high when things are going well, and don't get too low when things are going bad." Don't get me wrong, I am very concerned about our defense after last game, but let's focus on some of the positive here, something that gives us a chance not only to win Sunday, but still have a very successful season. I feel as good about the talent we have on offense as I have in a looonnnnggg time. This is easily the best group of receivers we have had in years, and with Marshall emerging I don't know what defenses plan to do coverage-wise against us. Graham and Scheffler will eventually get going, Henry will be fine, and Cutler will only get better. I guess what I am trying to say is that the potential is there for us to have one of those games where we possess the ball for 40 minutes, and score 30 points...why not this week?
Must invoke the 100 post rule.
I am guessing you have read the box scores of our games and not the games themselfs. We have been only good enough to beat 2 out of 3 BAD teams.... barely. Indy is a great team, and even better at home.

What a great idea for a thread! I'm surprised no one else thought of it.

So what exactly is the 100 post rule and who would be allowed to pull that card on someone? Just asking, because I have seen it every now and then

100 post rule is that you are not supposed to START threads until you have 100 Posts.
This is not really a rule..as you can see.
Others call it out sometimes even to people replying to threads, without thinking...How do you get 100 posts if you can't post at all until you have 100 posts? Either this makes them look dumb or the post was so bad that they wish it did apply anyway.
As to who could apply it? TJ is the board admin....
Others simply wish they were.

Agreed here... If we had blown out Buffalo and Oakland like we should have, the homer in me would be optimistic about going into Indy, but after what I've seen this year... no way. :(

Adding to what Scott said, it is mostly called out on worthless, trollish or stupid threads. A handful of poster come in and make sense before they get to 100 posts. Plus the 100 post is for you to get use to the way are cause we do get a bit cliquish around here and if not use to us you have allot of people piling on ya.

Eh.. while I may understand the "low man on the pole" routine, I really don't see the need to get all over a Bronco fan trying to create some positive spin on the game, lighten up a bit.
I don't think the Broncos have no chance, we could win this. But if we do, it'll be a lower scoring game.

Jax is a "BAD" team? That's just crazy talk. Jax is a real good team that always matches up tough against us, like Baltimore used too. We only won like 1 out of the last 5 against them, and we got outplayed in that one win iirc.

The offense is going to be awesome. Looking at the first two games, we're not going to keep moving the ball 450 yards a game and only get 20 points. The last game we moved the ball well when we had it, but we barely had the ball. This will be a 30-40 point team on a weekly basis sooner than later.

I rewatched the second half of the Raiders game this week. It has been atleast 1.5 games. We were awful on d in that game.

it's funny how little people know about football here. thank you for this excellent post. its about time someone said this.
We do not match up well against physically tough, straight up teams. We are a fast west coast type team that uses rollouts and pa, zone stretch and misdirection. This will win you a lot of games, but you will struggle against teams that play straight up and physical.
Jacksonville, baltimore, etc have players that are much stronger than ours. It is a question of matchups. I was worried about jacksonville last week for this reason. They played a perfect game, and their gameplan was perfect to play us. We have to tip our hat to del rio and the jag players. They played to their strength and won. It's as simple as that.
This is why I am not a doomsday prophet, and why I am feeling cautiously optimistic about this weekend. WE DO match up well against indy. We have the best secondary in the league, we have a decent, albiet not dominating, pass rush and our main problem has been this year that we haven't executed well, YET.
WE ARE in the right spots, minus a few plays, and we have shown amazing heart and athletism, we have not tackled well and frankly we OVERLOOKED all three teams thus far. You can see it in our players. They are sleepwalking. I garantee they will be up for indy on sunday.
this is a huge game for us, and our players know this.
win or lose, this is the game that starts the ball rolling for us. you will see a rejuvinated team out there this weekend and I boldly predict we will win 6 of our next 8 games.
I will start warming my plate of crow just in case...

Excellent thread, rep. This team is not nearly as bad as many around here seem to think. Yes, we need to work on run deffense. Yes, we need to work on finishing drives when we are in the red zone. Yes, we need to work on special teams overall. Thats the bad.
The good is that I believe we do have the personel, on the field, this year, to improve dramatically in all those areas (with the possible exception of run defense). We have an offense that can at least keep us close in any game we play. We are putting young players on the field in a new, unfamiliar, defensive schemes and still getting the job done. We are getting rookies or near rookies on both sides of the ball valuable experience. We are doing all this while leading our division.
Will we beat Indy? I don't know. They are one of the best teams in football, the defending world champs, undefeated, and playing on their home field. Further right after them, we get to play arguable the best team in our division on their home field, and two more (to this point) undefeated teams. While I don't know if we will win these games, what I do know is that we have a chance.
Despite what the doom and gloom, we suck crowd keeps yelling at me, I firmly believe we will win two of those four games. I even feel that we could take three, and I am not alone. Even after the loss we took last week, most power rankings have us in the top 12. I am not a firm believer in power rankings, but I do glance at them every week, and when 4 out of 5 have us as one of the front runners for a playoff spot, I tend to not drink the we are going 2-14 kool-aid.
Anyway, sorry to try and bring you doom and gloomers out of your hard earned funk. Carrying on being miserable about your team, the week 3, and 1 loss dashed playoff hopes. Just forget about those less than 100 post newbs who are actually enjoying the season, what could they possibly know?
