Remember when the Colts run D sucked but, as soon a Sanders returned they improved. Maybe a stud S should be a higher priority for Denver as well.

The other question this brings up in my "ignorant" mind is where does the buck stop then? Is Slowik calling the plays? Is Bates the architect and Slowik the trigger man? Who takes the heat? Bates? Slowik? Do they work together all week AND on game day or is one calling the defenses?

I'm not trying to stir anything up, just wondering if Bates is getting the credit/heat from local media when Slowik may need some credit/heat.

Only the beginning. We need a stud safety, LB and DT. Those are the 3 priorities in the 2008 draft and FA along with OL depth.

The players have already admitted that it's their fault. They aren't executing it's as simple as that. I'd actually go a step further and state that a few of them will never be able to execute at this level.

Consider me an "ignorant hack" for not being technically correct, but not feeling too bad. The blurb is technically correct but not factually accurate. Bates is in charge of the defense. Slowik can't/won't change anything without his blessing.
