So, how bad does everyone think OU will beat CU this upcoming Saturday? I'm thinking the usual 30 points or so. I think OU might not be able to keep up their 60+ points per game average for this one though, which will suck. I mean, the Sooners might be only able to score 50 on the Buffaloes!

sam bradford 20/25 325 4 TD's

malcolm kelly 3 catches 125 yds 3 TD's

allen patrick 20 carries 185 yds 2 TD's

defense allows 200 yds offense

Dudes - just don't come in here acting like Richards after the game ... get some class. Nobody is saying CU is gonna win, and you took Landry Jones and now probably Jon Major. Just try to be a little classy about it, huh?

BTW - Saw the 1992 CU-OU game on ESPN-Classic a few days back ... Buffs were working on a 4+ year unbeaten streak in the Big 8 ... it's the game where 18-year old, 175 pound true freshman Koy-Boy Detmer threw for about a million yards against Gary Gibbs Sooners (ended in a tie though). I DVR'ed the thing from the middle of the 1st quarter, I can burn a copy and send it to Pez or Atlas to distribute if anybody wants a copy ... speak up!

Hey SoCal ... I'm not gonna get in another "greatest talent" college footbal argument with you Uhh but can you top the 1992 Colorado Buffaloes LB corps?

An interesting pair of OCs that night - Coyer for OU, Les Steckel for CU. Plus a babyfaced Karl Dorrell standing next to McCartney the whole game.

That's a 3-4 so you have an extra one, I'll give you a Miami one that is superior in terms of talent, although this is a 3 LB group not a 4 LB group since Miami was and has always been in recent memory a 4-3 team.

Early 90s Miami Hurricanes starting linebackers (1991 and 1992):

LB Jessie Armstead: 176 games, FIVE time Pro Bowler for the NY Giants, 752 tackles, 12 INT
LB Darrin Smith: 153 games in the NFL, 24 sacks, 11 INT, 695 tackles, part of the Cowboys big time linebacking group during their during their Super Bowl years
LB Michael Barrow: 171 games in the NFL, 1126 tackles, 43 sacks. THREE time Pro Bowler

I can remember a few years back when OU wouldn't have even come in here. They were weeping coming into Folsom. Now, their little bandwagoneers come to crow. Fine. These are the same people who will disappear when OU hits a rough patch. You always notice that. Some team starts winning big and all of a sudden their fans proliferate like mosquitos. Fortunately, Buffs' fans aren't like that. BUFFS, DO OR DIE.

I don't know where you guys get all this "bandwagon bull****"... OU has had a waiting list for season tickets thousands strong for YEARS! The only way you bump up the list is if someone dies or the move to far to keep their tickets. For the whole era of the 90's we had nothing good to talk about really. It let schools like KS, KSU, CO who we used to beat like a drum, return the favor. I can understand the harsh sentiment from fans of other schools, but don't come with that weak ass bandwagon ****!

I have been nothing but classy to the Buffs and Huskers on this board and I would expect the same from you guys. The Texas guys...we'll, even we can be nice to each other at the end of the day, right shake...?

Geez! Sorry. I knew those Texans were sensitive. Who could imagine the Spooners would be even more so. From now on, I'll try to be more, well, let's just say, nuanced, in my posts. Maybe OU should switch from red to pink? It's such a more soothing color. ;)

On paper it looks like OU in a runaway, but games aren't won on paper.

Good luck to both sides and hope for no injuries.

No, not really. I expected OU to win by a couple scores. CU played a hell of a game, and the Sooners came out flat for most of the game, especially in the 2nd half.

The muffed punt by Reggie Smith really sealed the fate for OU. OU had gotten back some momentum by stopping CU, forcing them to punt, then come right back and give them the ball back at the 11.

Didnt expect this but thats why i held off saying OU was one of the best in College right now until they played a real team. Didnt even have to wait for a bigtime matchup as a up and coming CU squad does the damage. Congrats to the Buffalo's. And now OuBronco whining about yet another call? Pretty pathetic.

Yea but I didn't start a thread saying we were going to win by 60. I don't think we are that great of team this year. We have a ways to go including winning this game if we want to be considered elite. Colt has being playing like crap, two int's one for a td and one for 3 points throw in kick-off return for a TD and we are down by 10

Wow. I don't spend a lot of time on college football, so I didn't see this.

Doesnt matter. Bad calls happen in every game. But its just ironic that Sooner fans hang every loss on some random call. Soonerbronco was crying about the Oregon game not too long ago. Problem is, when your ranked 3rd in the country you need to come out and play like it every week. Its clearly obvious that OU was looking ahead. Ive stated it before, i hate pre-season rankings because many teams never live up to the hype. And now OU is a perfect example. Michigan was another. They should wait until halfway in the season before posting teams rankings. OU didnt lose today because of a call. They lost because they didnt stay focused and came in expecting CU to hand them the win.

I think it was a tough call that could have gone either way. But both teams play with the same officials. Bitching about them is not cool - a completely unappealing quality in a fan.

And what's more, when your team comes into a game a three-touchdown-plus favorite, it takes some serious audacity to be complaining about losing the game because of a bad call (whether it's legitimate or not).

That Oregon game was freakin pathetic though. That game pissed me off so much because of the bad calls at the end. I've never seen an onside kick get recovered by the receiving team, yet the refs blow the whistle well before anyone caught it and give it to Oregon. Not to mention the ball hit an Oregon player inside of 10 yards. That is a game where OU should've gotten a W and got screwed by the calls on the field. Seriously, the worst call on that onside kick I have ever seen.
This game, the refs didn't screw OU. OU screwed itself. I think all those cupcake games early made this squad overconfident thinking this would be a piece of cake. It was pathetic watching them play half assed today. I hope they wake up in time for the Texas game.
I guess CU was due a big win this year. It had been awhile since they did. Upset Nebraska not too long ago, then OU this year.

Damn it feels nice to finally top OU, those guys have been beating down CU repeatedly for years now!

Repeat ass beatings in the big 12 championship game put me over the edge. Thankfully CU redeemed themselves. This school was in desperate need for a momentum changing win, not only on the field but in the national scene and in recruiting...

Jon Majors, I know you are considering OU, but look at what your home-state is putting together. COME and be a part of this as its only going to get better from here!

As a Nebraska fan it should be somewhat concerning that CU and K-state looked so good today, but I can't help but be 1) impressed by their efforts as huge underdogs 2) glad to see cocky OU and Texass bought back down to earth. The Big XII may be a cesspool of mediocrity, but your right down in it with the rest of us.

Seriously though, anyone in the North not named Iowa State looks like they have a good shot at winning the division.
