Disappointments:
No Order
1. Playcalling:
I think we should open up playbook alot more. I know coaches tend to baby young QB's for awhile. IMO Cutler is good enough to let the reins go. He is much more mature then most QB's at his age. Will he screw up alot yes but. will he make alot of plays as well. This unit should be scoring 28 pts a game.
2. The Defense:
I realize it will take the whole season to see what we really have in this unit. The thing I'm most shocked about presently is how SOFT we are and not forcing our will on our opponents. Yes we need lots more pieces on D but, right now that can't be addressed. I thought Adams would be more of a force then what I've seen. We have the best tandum of CB's in the league so 90% of focus should be on the run and pressuring QB. I would think stopping the run would be the easiest thing to fix vs coverage problems in a new scheme.
3. ST's
Hixon:
I don't hate him like most do on the boards. My disappointment is he falls down so easy like Gerald W. he can't break tackles very well. This is not a good thing for a team trying to bolster their ST's.
I like alot about this team and I know we will improve as each game go on. I'm excited about our future as well. In the present I have a few issues I wanted to bring up. Feel free to add thoughts.
No I'm not giving up on this season just my thoughts after 3 games.

Hixon, Until the start of the season I had never seen him play. With all the hype about him I was suprised to see his body type. Most good/great punt returners are short legged guys. They get started very fast, they are at speed in 2 or 3 steps. Hixon is a long lean guy. Takes him 3 or 4 stripes to get up to speed(when he gets up to speed he appears to be very fast). When I first saw him my first reaction was no way, he is built wrong.
My next thought was that Shanny knew something that I did not.
We still need a punt returner.

I dont think that its possible to sink to that level. There is a certain law of physics that establishes a constant equation that describes why this is the case.

Biggest disapoinment - Maners who obviously do not understand it is a team game and want to blame the team failures on one or two individuals. Guess there are too many here whose only exposure to football is a video game.

If you're referring to my hixon bashing, I have not once, ANYWHERE, said it's his fault, let his fault alone. I merely said he sucks and he is the biggest disappointment thus far after all the hype.

Yeah...this is a weird place.
Everything is his fault last season, and nothing is really anybody's fault this season.
Hard to explain, really. I guess that being in Denver and submerged in all of the local news and gossip creates some type of group-think situation.
I know that being a single Bronco fan in a sea of Cowboy fans gives me a different perspective having to defend the Broncos to all of these Cowboy homers (and you thought Cheffies were bad!) gives me a bit of a different angle.
Football is a team game, and if a small section of that team (ahem...D-line...O-line) cant hold their own, then it makes things very difficult on everyone else.

As far as I am concerned, saying that you are disappointed in someone or something is not the same as blaming a loss on someone. Like I stated above, I had never seen Hixon play before. After all the hype I had expectations. We have not had a threat at punt returner for sometime
(DWill did show some flashes).
He could be a wideout someday, however I am disappointed that we still do not have a punt returner.
(I sure hope Hixon returns one next week and makes me look like an a-hole)
